Default Creating Custom heads?
Hi! I was wondering how to create custom heads in the Sims 1. I have the Sims Creator but are there any other ways? Thanks!

A sim's head or body is composed of two parts: 1) a texture, which is stretched over 2) a mesh.

Making new textures is relatively easy for anyone who can draw (I can't, but many people can). Making new meshes is a lot more complicated.

There are several tutorials about how to make new textures. The MoonSims site is down today, but it's still available on the Wayback Machine. It's a very chatty tutorial, and I find the author's letting her sim do a lot of the talking rather annoying, but if you can ignore that, there's a ton of good information in this tutorial: https://web.archive.org/web/2007102...to-skin-01.html

Less comprehensive but still useful is the tutorial by Sistergirl:
https://mayday555.tripod.com/skinstut.html

And there's one specifically about hair here: https://skinmachine.tripod.com/tutorials/hair/hair.htm

Making meshes is a lot more complicated, since it's sculpting in 3-D, rather than painting in 2-D.
Jerome has some information about creating meshes here: http://www.simfreaks.com/jerome/guides/uk_guide1.htm.

Have fun!

I've made some mods for The Sims 1 -- yes, The Sims ONE :-) -- which you can find at http://corylea.com/Sims1ModsByCorylea.html
