I know, I know, others have said the same thing and EA never listen. Really though... I miss building snow men and then having to warm my sims up or they'll get ill. It's sounds odd but it makes playing more realistic.
Yeah, the consensus around here seems to be in favor of Pets. So many seem to love it. It just gets a 'meh' response from me. Look, I'll probably get it but I know I'm going to get bored with the pets aspect after a while. I mean, that's not why I play the game, i.e. to control the careers of a bunch of cats. Some love that and that's fine. But I'd much rather have Seasons/weather-related and all the related activities that come with that, something my Sims could enjoy.

I really wish the development team doesn't stop enhancing the core gameplay with more interactions and depth. I was so glad when I heard about Generations, it really felt like the expansion pack I had been waiting for. Then the reviews came in... I haven't played it yet but I'm afraid I'm going to be disappointed. It feels rather bland and from what I gather from a couple of reviews, very lightweight on the content. If only EA wasn't such a money-hungry whore, we might have gotten some good worthwhile shit. Instead we're stuck with a bunch of prom and bachelor parties... not to even mention the countless rabbit holes... urgh.

Alright...here is my two cents on this whole thing

EP No.6 should be a mixture of Freetime and University. Higher education past high school, and more hobbies like sports, professional dancing and others. The title should be The Sims 3:Good Times

EP No.7 should be a new type of EP, geared twoards bands, celebrity status past Late Night, and musicianism. Your sims can start a band in 3 genres of music. Glam Metal,Hip Hop, and Country. Guitar companies like PRS, Ibanez,Gibson, Jackson and Fender would include their brand names on new electric guitars. And you can play in large (NON RABBIT HOLE) arenas. The tite should be The Sims 3: Ready to Rock

And the last EP No.8 should be what TS3 fans have been waiting for since the base game came out. Weather/Nature. This time, more dynamic and realistic graphics, tornados, hurricanes and volcanic eruptions. Gardening and PlantSimism also returns, more species of animal would be featured in the EP. The tite should be The Sims 3:Mother Nature

What about one with the ability to swim in the ocean? i meen, it is everywhere in the games! pool slids, diving board, better apartments that actually have other people live in them! weather, storms, natural disasters, children have to learn to swim and i will have to think of more later...

I don't have a signature, because I was to lazy to make one.

I just got to thinking about how an expansion that includes weather should go.

Edit Town Mode
- There will be a season setting on the UI where the player will be able to set how many days a season lasts per season. I don't know about you, but where I live it seems like we go straight into summer/winter.
- There will also be a temperature slider in the UI, and the player will be allowed to set a "normal" high/low and a "record" high/low temperature for that town for each "season".
- A "School vacation?" option below all 4 seasons, but only one season can be picked and will last a portion of a child/teen sim's age length.

Buy/Build
- Now that there is weather in this concept it would be great to have (customizable) greenhouses back. The greenhouses will allow sims to grow plants/trees all year long.- A compost bin that allows sims to turn their trash into cash crops! Great for Eco-Friendly sims who dislike throwing trash away.
- A skylight tool. I mean the ones that go on slanted roofs. (This)
-- Attic walls won't cause route fails. Sims will "bend" to the shape of the wall, as long as the wall is at least half-wall height. Lower walls WILL cause route fails.
- The juicer! How I have missed this! The juice will have similar effects as LN drinks.
- The weather machine! Can either be a lifetime reward, or for those with AMB, the sim can "invent" one. Evil sims will have a ball with this one!
- Diving boards/pool slides. *Knocks on EA's door* Hello?
- Central air conditioning/heating.
- ^Or for those poor sims fans/window/wall air conditioners.
- Radiators
- Also space heaters. Those have a chance of catching fire and destroying a home.
- Maybe insulation? lol
- Something for screened in porches, or a 3 season porch.

Gameplay
- Actual sickness/disease that AMB doctors can vaccinate/cure.
- Weather affects how plants will grow.
- Basements will be cool (and damp in some cases?) and as you go up higher into a house it gets hotter.
- Roofs can become ruined and water will seep through the ceilings. (Sounds like a no?).
- Flooding can occur in homes closer to water, or in basements that aren't on high ground.
- Tornadoes?! Ever notice that wind widget from AMB?
- School vacations will be spent at those "Generations" schools if the parents can afford it/want to if Generations is installed.
- Sims working out will need to make sure they are hydrated by either drinking water or cooled off by a fan/swimming/or air conditioned room.
- Sims will be able to/need to shovel their yards in order to leave their homes by foot during a snowstorm.
- There is a limited supply of produce in grocery stores and sims will need to stock up before a storm. (Maybe not.)
- The power will go out during a thunderstorm/snowstorm! (YAY!)
- Everyone will get an "It's dark" moodlet. Cowardly sims will get a worse "It's Dark" moodlet.
- New candles will be used to get rid of the said moodlet. The existing candles will be upgraded to allow this.
- Electrical objects will not be able to be used due to this.
- I don't remember if solar panels were included in one of the EPs, but they will benefit over everyone else during a storm.
- Sims can swim in lakes/ponds/beaches.

Traits
- Loves Cold/Hates Cold
- Loves Warmth/Hates Warmth
- Loves Snow/Hates Snow
- Loves Rain/ Hates Rain
^These could be a part of the favorites. Eh.

Moodlets
- Heat Stroke (-40 mood) - Sims will be knocked out for two hours or until doused with water. (Dramatic sims will *AHEM* after fainting. No?)
- Oppressive Heat/Humid Atmosphere make a comeback from WA, but with different icons. More negative for "Hates Warmth."
- Blistering cold.
- Beautiful Day [outside]. (+20 moodlet depending on traits) Boosted for Loves the Outdoors. Negative for Hates the Outdoors.
- Soaked, can either be a good or bad moodlet now. Much worse for Hydrophobic sims.
- Singed would be used for being struck by lightning along with an according moodlet.

Etc.
- More produce! Eggplants (nice try EA), strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, cucumbers, chili peppers (TOO HOT! Moodlet -20 mood), etc.
- Electronic objects that are outside while raining/snowing have a chance of catching fire either by a lightning strike or use at that time.
- There will be a "weather channel" which will allow sims to know what the weather is on TV, or they could read the newspaper, but the percent chance where the weather person is wrong will vary.
- Daredevil sims will get a fun boost while playing/doing things outside in horrible weather conditions.
- Mean/Evil sims will get a "Fiendishly Delighted" moodlet whenever there is a rainstorm/thunderstorm.
- Cowardly sims will get the "Horrified" moodlet whenever there is a thunderstorm and run inside (to the nearest non-rabbithole building) even if the sim in question loves the rain/outdoors.
- Leaves on trees will fall as temperatures get cold, only if the weather is getting colder, not during a cold day.
- Sims can rake/compost those leaves for their gardens.
- Days get longer/shorter as the seasons progress.
- Parties can be ruined by "bad" weather.

I'm not sure what else to think about with this, but I'll keep editing this list if anything comes to me.

Great ideas, I agree with the ones in bold

So many good ideas here: ea sims developers should pass by to have a look^^

Here is my personale idea: THE SIMS 3 – AFTERLIFE

You ever wondered where your sims go after death? What lies beyond?
Heaven? Hell?
Or maybe a new life, in Aftercity (temporary name, i believe any of you can invent a better name than mine hehe^^)
This city terrain is made of clouds, surrounded not by the sea, but by an infinite beautiful blue sky, embellished with a rainbow. And sometimes you can notice distant cluds passing by... maybe other afterlife cities?

A NEW LIFE AWAITS.
Creating sims, build and buy like before with new buildings, rabbitholes, styles, clothes.
Will be great to have an improved version of sims medieval skins, lifespan adjustable to “immortal soul state”.
What a death sim can do in his afterlife? Encounter other death sims, death parents, illustrious ancestors aaand, of course, for some fun going back to haunt the world of livings^^
It can be used the same function of world adventures for traveling to the world of living sims.
Where you can scare people, manifesting as ghost or poltergeist, and what about possessing some sim to live is life for awhile, messing with it eheh.
Pay attention to ghost hunter, they can send you back before the end of your “vacation”.

CAREERS? WORKS?
Yes, of course, or afterlife will be eternally boring.
Living careers and ambitions can be adapted for afterlife world.
You can become the artists muse, you can be a guardian of lost souls, perhaps a saint career can interest you? And to became a Grim Reaper?
Yes, Grim Reaper are trained here on Aftercity! You will begin the career learning the rites, then you can have your customizable cape and scythe... someone said that you can appear in sims medieval too? Maybe
You will have your agenda with “appointments” with people to “harvest” in the worlds of living: if you miss, bad moodlet and bad note on your career diary and if you want to be the supreme Reaper of the city you can't let this happen^^ Reapers can have vacation in living worlds too.
Saint career.
Learn how to become a Saint with some books at the great library. After that you will be ready to go for the shiny Saint career! You will appear to living sims to give them faith (or at least trying to do so) you will be able to make miracles or dispense divine justice to the livings. Check your apparition agenda to go where and when you are dispatched, and you will be able to end up to be the new “major” of the city.
Guardian of lost souls.
All the sims who die arrive here on Aftercity, with all of theyr good and bad traits.
Some of the tend to break the rules here and in the livings world so a police force is needed: those are the Guardians of lost souls. Someone stole an important reliquia from the white cathedral? Someone is causing troubles at Paradise Pub? Who do you gonna call? Guardians of lost souls of course^^

Wants more? Angel wings, unicorns, paradisiac cars, disco, clubs, whooing (it's afterlife not paradise^^) create families, vampires admitted, angelic foods and drinks, afterplants, afterpets, afterhours... and everything else!

Create your own afterlife.

I think it's cool to read the first posts from this thread and see how a lot of it has been included in current EP's. For example, one person mentioned children being able to give a bottle to toddlers. It's almost like EA read this post )

I was read up on this thread awhile and I got to thinking that maybe it would be a good idea if EA somehow implemented another part to the World Adventures expansion pack, more than likely a separate expansion pack. It's not impossible for EA to bring out another part to an expansion pack, I'd actually like to see more from WA, and with Pets coming out it would be even better. This would also be a second chance to put hotels within the game.

I'll just be going over more things that should have already been put in WA.

Edit Town
- New Lot Type: Hotel (If EA isn't too stingy, the hotel lot type could be included in patch 1.xx/2.xx). This lot can be placed in the home world as well.

Locations
- For those without WA1 they will have China, Egypt, and France greyed out, like the subhoods in TS2 were. Now these are my preferred locations, of course I had more but that would take so much planning away.
-- South Africa
-- Italy
-- Canada (Quebec)

Buy/Build
- Within buy/build with testingcheats enabled you can shift click on a door and set it as a suite, or EA will probably be generous enough to let us shift click on doors if the lot is set as a hotel. Who wants to make hotel suites with just 1 door? C'mon. Setting the door as a suite will allow sims to have privacy so they can sleep, or do other things...
- Not too clear yet about furniture/architecture.
-- I don't care really as long as EA completes their sets. lol

- Definitely new sleeping bags (for camping in Quebec/elsewhere).
- Binoculars to spy on animals (and other sims...).
- Humvee, only available during safaris.

- Gelato/Ice Cream Maker
-- Gelato/Ice Cream register for community lots
-- Gelato/Ice Cream display case for community lots. <- Should AT LEAST be decorative if EA uses the register method. However they could go with the LN bar method to stock ice cream in place of ingredients.
-- Gelato will spoil faster if left out of a fridge/case too long.

- (Portable) Sewing Machine - "Sewing" (working title) Skill
-- Sims will need to buy materials from a textile "shop" (register) or buy mode.
--- The material that the sim uses to sew with will only last according to which size textile the sim bought.
--- The textiles that Sims buy will already have patterns and such, but can be CASted to the player's liking, however it can only be CAStable until a sim starts using it or gives it a name.
---- The textiles will translate onto whatever the Sims make.
-- Sims will be able to make more sewn crafts as their sewing skill gets better. (See Below)
----- This will probably fit better in a different EP, but

- Hockey/Ice Skating (if weather ever becomes a part of a patch, it will be perfect)
-- The skating rink and hockey net will come as separate objects, but the hockey net can be placed on the long ends of the rink.
-- Sims will gain athletic skill while playing hockey/skating.

- Maple Toffee Maker
-- Sims will be able to make sugar toffee or maple syrup and bring some home as souvenirs.
-- Sims can also buy a toffee/syrup maker, but they will need a maple tree to cultivate sugar maple sap.
--- When the sugar maple sap is converted into maple syrup, it will boost the food quality of pancakes if the syrup is in a Sim's inventory or fridge.
--- Sims will get a "Sugar Rush" moodlet after eating the maple toffee or pancakes.

Gameplay
General
- With the addition of the hotel lot, Sims won't need to worry about other Sims being up in their Kool-aid if they need "privacy."
- New Professions - Designer(possible)/Modeling(long shot)
- Sims will be able to go on Safaris where enabled.

South Africa
-Sims will be able to go on safaris to see wild animals. New markers will be added in debug mode to denote where the safari (vehicle) starts and ends.
-- With that said, Sims will be able to sleep in "tree-house hotels", like tents.
-- There will be a new tent for this expansion or this one will use the same tent from WA1
-- Some of the animals are adoptable like Birds. If there's a pet shop in Pets, Sims will also be able to adopt those animals from home.
... more to be added.

Italy
- Sims will be able to make gelato
- Sims will also be able to buy textiles from fabric shops around Italy (and at home).
- Sims will be able to buy "special" garments/crafts from shops around Italy.
- Vineyards will also make its way back from WA1 and sims will be able to make nectar with new grapes.
- Sims will be able to make nectar with the nectar machine.

Quebec
- Sims will be able to visit sugar shacks and enjoy delicious Quebecker cuisine
- Sims can learn folk songs from this location
- Sims will have a better environment for camping in this area, as well as exploring forests.

...

Traits
- Adventurous would come back as well as the same lifetime rewards.
- Modiste - Gains Sewing skill faster than other sims.

Moodlets
- Itchy (-10 Mood) - From mosquitoes.

Etc.
- New Fish/Produce: largemouth bass, cod, sardines, maize, olives, artichokes, beanstalks, Maple (Sap) Trees.
- New Meals: Bunny Chow(SA), Bobotie (SA), Frikkadel (SA), Bruschetta (It.), Chocolate Truffles (It.), Ham & Scrambled Eggs (Q), Baked Beans (Q), Tourtière (Q).
- Sewn Crafts: Decorative potholders (0), Socks (1), Hats (2), Tablecloths (3), Quilts/Actual Bedding (4), Pants/Skirts (5), Shirts/Tees (6), More Intricate Hats (7), Full Outfits (8), More Intricate Clothing (9), Tapestry (10)
-- Badly made crafts will give a negative room environment score.
-- New Clothing, Crafts, and Accessories will be "hidden" with flags creators will know about so they could make their own "designer" clothing.
-- For Bedding the player will either direct the sim to change the bedding or the sim can drag the bedding from the inventory onto a bed where the change will happen instantly.

- Baked Beans - Upon eating baked beans sims will have a "feeling gassy" moodlet (no effect) that will last for a sim hour.

I may have forgot something but this took days of planning...

I don't see how that justifies an Expansion Pack.

If they made an Expansion Pack surrounding music I'd expect a ton more instruments than a few guitars.

Why last? And natural disasters are a bit too much for The Sims. At least at this point in time. All disasters have been short-scale and I don't even see how tornadoes and hurricanes would work without being really unrealistic. Buildings/trees/objects would have to be destroyed and I'm not even sure how they'd properly implement that. Are you expecting objects/trees/Sims to just...disappear?

Seasons is fine as remaining just as Seasons. Like Pets, it is a concept that does fine by itself. It requires a great amount of attention to detail. I wouldn't want a good amount of that time spent on natural disasters, to be honest.

What I want for Seasons is basically an improved version of The Sims 2 merged with the opportunities that The Sims 3's gameplay brings.

- Hail would happen in thunderstorms, like it does in real life.
- When it snows in seasons outside of winter, snow accumulates on trees.
- Trees bud in the Spring, as opposed to just gaining leaves all of the sudden (this made Spring look really bland in The Sims 2).
- Winter would be more brownish-yellow. I don't know, just make sure only the evergreens remain green during the winter. If it were possible, make the terrain change to where the grass turns yellow. Bushes/shrubs/long grass should all turn brown or lose their leaves.
- There should be differentiations in the wind. Some days there would be none, others it would be really windy. Wind should be really strong during thunderstorms and snow storms at times, as well.
- There should be frost and icicles during the winter/late autumn. Would be funny if the pavement became slippery, too.
- More types of weather - Freezing rain and sleet.
- Power outages.
- School becomes closed during snow storms when the snow actually accumulates on the roads and makes driving dangerous.
- Maybe climates you could set?
- Tons of plantlife. I'd especially love more winter-like plants. It would add so much variety to the scenery. It may seem minor to others but I love creating nature lots, and I've been sad that I've had to rely so heavily on CC for this.

For more gameplay related features:

- You can now set whether you Sims are more tolerable towards heat or cold (individually, of course.)
- A "Favorite Season" is added into the Favorites.
- A trait is added which makes that Sim more enthusiastic towards the weather and changing of seasons. Not all of your Sims would run to the window when it started snowing, only the ones with this trait!
- Add tons of moodlets based on weather/seasons relative to the trait, favorites, and Sims temperature tolerance level.
- Interactions should be added allowing Sims to sled down the hills, skate on frozen ponds, and more beach interactions.

I think we need a Seasons-like EP too, but because one of the main themes of Seasons was gardening, which was given to us in the base game, it would be disappointing to just have weather. EA will try and merge it with another theme, such as magic or whatever they think will sell better.
Sill, pets is going to be a great EP, and whatever comes out next, I will buy it too... and the next... and the next...

Yet many said the same thing about Pets. "They won't make it on its own this time!". Pets and Seasons are both best selling features, they can safely release them on their own and make tons of money.

I'd much rather have an amazing Seasons EP, than a mediocre Seasons EP that made room for something else.

Coming from what fway was saying, I would LOVE to have hotels. Hotels that could be incorporated into the WA EP maybe? The thing I was disappointed with in WA was that they were more like journeys and... Adventures. I think I was expecting some sort of vacation holiday pack again, and maybe I failed to notice the title saying WORLD ADVENTURES. Don't get me wrong, it's fun to explore the tombs and shizzle, but I guess I was looking at it from a different view point I guess. Meh.

Or maybe an entirely new pack to put Hotels in? I'm not sure if anyone else has had this idea (sorry if I am repeating it, I haven't checked the whole thread, literally only two pages of it Lol); how about an Entertainment EP? Basically you could upgrade a lot of what the Sims 3 already has. Think about this:

Swimming Pools- Much more items like Diving boards, waterslides (possibly), wave pools or maybe even swimming lessons in the pools for kids? (Then again Sim kids happen to know how to swim, so that may be hard to do).

Parks- More things for play areas? Those swings with toddler seats, more climbing frames, maybe ones you can make yourself, and more outdoor toys.
For the actual park itself- Maybe more activities to do there? More scenery and things to place in the parks, activities like football or tennis or something. Which brings me to my next point... -Amazing transition effect-

Sports- A few people have mentioned sports. Tennis, swimming events, basketball tournaments that you can actually see instead of waiting outside while your Sim watches it (again, due to the stadiums in game this may be a problem to add in game), football tournaments, baseball, etc. I know this would take a lot of time to create, but I think it would really be a nice enhancement to the game.

Hotels, Casinos and shows- Coming from my first idea in this post, I would be delighted if we could create Hotels in the game. Another idea is Casinos (someone mentioned Casinos may happen in a Vegas EP or something) where your Sims could waste their Simoleons on gambling. Yay! You could have talent shows or singers on stage in the Casinos or Hotels, hell, maybe even mix them all up to create the ultimate Vegas hotel or something.

I know those ideas sound really far fetched, mostly the hotel casino idea , but for the rest I think it may be possible to add to the game.

AND ONE MORE THING: Weather. Many, many, MAAANNNYYYY people have mentioned weather, and I for one would love to have seasons in the game. Thanks, EA :D

True, I think us humans just like things to get better or be better. But there are glaring issues in the game, so we're not complaining about microscopic things like "That tree in the game, one of it's leaves have a dot of yellow on it! I DEMAND A NEW EP AT ONCE TO FIX THAT." We're just saying what we feel should be improved on or added to the game. Maybe a little bit of complaining secretly

I'm all for new EP ideas but I would definitely love to see a TS3-spin on OFB. Love all your ideas. I'd also love to be able to design our own clothes and shoes. We could have default styles but be able to add buttons, bows, trim, fringes, etc other little things that will make each outfit/shoe unique and actually worth buying instead of just going into CAS. We also need to be able to make jewelry out of the gems we find. Why this hasn't been an option is beyond me.

I like the idea of a lot size editor. If Awesomemod can add a cheat to create custom lot sizes, EA should easily be able to add this to any EP. Also love the idea of locking job levels. Sometimes I JUST want my Sim to be a high school teacher or JUST the Mayor. I don't want them to go any farther than that and hate when I check back in on them and they are at level 9 or 10 of their career.

More than anything, I want them to bring back restaurants. Real restaurants with servers, a chef, being able to have over the table interactions, etc. We also need more types of food. I'm surprised the community hasn't created custom foods yet.
