I downloaded smokeable cigarettes from pc-sims.com and i want to change some stuff. how do i do that? I want to make it so you can set how often they will take cigarettes out of the pack and make smoke come out of it. how would i do that?

You cannot edit another user's work without their permission for anything but personal use.

You cannot do what you want as a first project, nor will you find detailed instructions on doing so. Modding at that high a level assumes you can figure out a lot of things for yourself, building on previous skills. You need to do something much, MUCH simpler, then work your way up to that point, so you can ask specific, detailed questions if, at that point, you are stuck on a detail or two.
