I am pretty new to the Sims games. Kids gave me my first one last year about this time. I just realized I had body shop...recently, but didn't really know what to do with it. I love your site and find it to be very helpful... just found you yesterday or the day before. I just did my first recolor using Gimp 2.6. Thanks for suggesting this program. I followed your instructions and at least on this tutorial was able to follow very easily with the Gimp program. Thank you for you site ... the tutorials and all the help that is given here. Your site is amazing!!! Again, thank you!!!
I also took your advice and downloaded Sims 2 Home Crafter Plus, but won't load for some reason. Will try to figure it out later... I am anxious to move on to the next tutorial!

I can't see the pictures either!! I absolutely love the tut but it'll be a lot better with pictures

Hey I need help!
Thank you so much for the tutorial!
I have followed like, 10 tutorials to try to learn to recolor and yours is by far the most descriptive!
So here's my problem! THis has happened countless times and I haven't gotten a recolor to work properly yet!
So, I use Paint.Net because the link to GIMP didn't work and it wouldn't show up on my computer or let me download it.
I do as you say, and go to Hue/Satuation...blah blah blah! =)
When I uploaded my file to Paint.Net to recolor, it was a .bmp file. Is that right?
Then I saved it under .bmp, not Paint.Net. Is that right? (=
Theeen.....I go back to Body Shop, refresh, and nothing changes! I don't know what I am doing wrong, and it soooo frusterating! HEEELLLPP!!!!!!

Thank you so much for this. It was very straightforward and actually pretty short and easy.

Just one question, do I need to transfer the completed file out of my SavedSims folder and into my Downloads folder where the rest of my CC is located?

I'm going to do a few more tutorials on meshing, but I will eventually check it out for myself by starting the game. If you guys can answer that before I start the game then I'll be confident in finding the recolor and not having to exit and reload the game to move the file.

So again Thank you!

ShatterFreak no you dont. Since it is a recolour and you didn't put it in game when you were in bodyshop first you just follow the steps and no extracting/copying and placing in you downloads folder is required. Hope I helped!

alz-da-dog - Look in our Creator Guidelines. They tell you what you need to upload.

AnnitaSims - Nobody's Body Shop uses png files. Save as bmp over the files made in your Projects/YourProjectName/ folder.
