I've never seen such townhouses. And probably never will. In the city I live land prices are rising very qickly. Once they rised to certain amount you can see there are multistorey multiflat houses built in place of little village cottage. So you can see sometimes high rising houses with 50 levels built on other road side from private cottages with garden. That only means cottages would sink in shade of those "anthill" some time and will demolished soon for another high rising.

Most of middle and high class families are live in flats just because greedy developers even do not plan to expand townhouse marketing. High houses should pay themselves off very qickly. Usually rising in haste with no special infrastructure and reference on local existing schools and hospitals.

Here you can see more of my creations and conversions for sims 3. ;) I`ll glad to see your comments in.

Thank you, Johnny_Bravo
Cool! That one - the third picture - looks like the store fronts of mini-malls here in Florida. LOL!
They look very clean. Not a lot of personalization or gardens to contend with... do you have floor plans?

The front yards... yeah I think there's some kind of regulations going on, there used to be a few bigger trees here and there and I assume some roots may have messed up the pavement? No such thing in The Sims though

I sketched a plan from memory of one of the single family homes below, since I'm pretty sure that the only difference between the (Florida shop looking) townhouses and the single ones is the tower which includes the stairs. So bear in mind it's not exactly accurate. If it's not clear enough I'll sketch it up on some checkered paper
Luckily one of the other townhouses is for sale (Pending, so if you've got 415k to spare and want to move to NL, a chance!) and the website provides floor plans.

I'm in the middle of a wallpaper project right now - but this is gonna happen Thanks!

Can't wait to see them. I wonder how you'll make the staircase/hallway, since these are usually pretty cramped and make it hard to create a simified version of real-life Dutch homes

Johnny, don't push Catherine too hard. She is a girl after all. Do build your own house. I like your creations so much!

I'm not pushing anyone, she wanted it :p
Cat is way more talented with TS2 than I am, anyway. Adding to that, I would like to build my own stuff, but I'm not happy with anything I do in TS2, my PC is officially dead (Last time I turned it on, there was a burning smell. Yikes!), and my laptop can't run TS3. It'll be a while before I can build something again.

I just got some wallpapers put up... Now I'm thinking I might start a build. Hmmm. I wonder what I should build?

Maybe I'll do another set of RowHouses? ...with a Dutch theme? .

Well - Here's a start Front side and Backside. Mostly finished. Of the Prof floor plan (not the hand drawn)
...I'm going to do a matching one (so they line-up together) with the "bump out" storefront look.

Here's the matching one. Due to trying to match the edges - it is not an exact replica of the pictured one...
(It also has no CC - so the cute little square windows are not *sigh*)

@Tudorman23
The observatory tower looks out of place IMO, is there anything up there? And I'd probably use a shingle roof to match the dark front and garage doors, and as contrast to the white.

@Victor_tor
That'd be a lovely looking ghetto, lol. It reminds me more of some industrial era townhouses/tenements.

@CatherineTCJD
Looking at the grey homes again, I'd rather leave 2 windows centered on the main floor, instead of the 4 using up the whole wall.

Yeah... I did 4 widows, because the original has like a 3Twide window (with shutters taking up the rest of the wall) - but I can't have that centered in the 4T space. If I made it 5T wide, then I could do it - But, I wouldn't have 3 apartments on the lot. (I'm working with 18 workable Tiles across the lot. Each apt is 6T wide - so the 'bump out' must be 4T.) *sigh*
And a 2T window - the same as the one above it - just doesn't work aesthetically. *shrug*

@Victor_tor - I'm confuzzled, do you like the gray brick? I agree the red brick is less appealing; but, I was going by the picture - and each apt has a slightly different type of brick. So, without using CC, those are my options. *shrug* It gives it a 'lived in'/used vibe. LOL!

@TudorMan23 - That CapeCod has had so much 'added on', it is on the verge of losing it's CapeCod charm! Oh my! - I actually love it! An old whaler did right for himself somewhere along the way   My only objection is: I don't think a true Caper would put a cement fence on top of the bay windows?

Cape cod was a cheap cottage for workers. I thought Cat said it somewhere before in posts where we discussed houses. Oh my.... my mind is drawing picture about workers family, that had their daughter to marry local prince, then become rich and make their house to grow for such presense. Just like in Cinderella fairy tale everything's have miraclous happy ending with no effort. Dang, I like it so much XD

Yeah, I like gray brick houses, Cat. They are great looking!

#1747 Old 31st May 2021 at 10:49 AM Last edited by Victor_tor : 31st May 2021 at 11:22 AM. Reason: Question about church
Guys, I am creating now a neighborhood, based on Southern US look. That was a continue part of two Heritage Houses project, that suggested by CatherineTCJD before. My bad, I had not stop this thing in houses and decided to create a whole world. I try to do it as realistic as possible with no mods. And since I am not native US citizen I have kind of fear that I will make somethin far from true, or somethin that will be completely out of place. I ve seen in one TV show that there is a land full of trees and springs. I tried to navigate it in google and seen there are also a lot of creeks. So I tried to create something similar to Georgian Nature and overloook and City that based on Cairo. It's a little provincial city near the Thomasville, Orange Springs County. Here is that I was created:

It has Walmart! It has typical American Diner with steaks and grill cheese menu. And also it has a gym where you can burn fat gained. It has no gambling and card game clubs. It's banned in my country so I expect there is no money games in US too.
But the most complicated part is about religion. I live in a country that mostly into orthodox church. And I am also an orthodox. I don't know too much about US religion. So when my neighborhood would need a church, I prefer someone who will help me with my questions. I want to have Christ Gospel church. I've read a lot about it. I even made it already, but not sure. It might be wrong. I've seen wikipedia topic about it, but understand there nothing. And Russian topic in wikipedia is much different, it's way short and does not give me imagine. Can you tell me please what is Gospel church about and how it should look like?
Vic ^_^

It sure is full of trees! OMG! ...Which should be the biggest/widest Oaks and tall pines (which we don't have in the game - the pointy/Christmas Tree pine is not what we have in the South, nor the firs.) Also, technically, anything that stands still - including trees - in that area, gets covered in a thick vine called Kudsu. It is everywhere! And the ground is mostly red clay - so dirt looks like the Maxis red desert terrain paint. Seriously, it does.

Thomasville, GA is in Thomas County. Orange Springs is in Grady County - the next county to the West. These locations (and Cairo, GA) are all in the same area/region; but I just want to be clear.

Now, religion is where I can really help. Hubby is a retired United Methodist pastor. We served in both the Kentucky and Florida conferences.
That part of the US is what's known as the "Bible Belt" - the predominant denomination is Southern Baptist (though United Methodist, and other protestant denominations are also strong.) Most of the church buildings are a lot like the one I recently put up (and most Baptist churches have powder blue carpet/Methodist have ruby red - just an FYI I've noticed over the years) ...there are also large brick/marble "downtown" churches that have more of a Federal architecture (with stately columns in front and a big triangular pediment.)

Walmart is a definite YES. The local grocery store is probably called the Piggly Wiggly (seriously!) And no gambling in that area. In most of the US, gambling casinos are restricted to Indian Reservations and off-shore 'cruise' boats. There would be several diners and hamburger joints - with a few upscale restaurants in town. The seedy side of town would be where you find the bars.

I think this is a great project! . You are going to have fun finishing out this 'hood
I know I got a little rambly there ^ But, this is stuff I know about. I'd love to visit your hood and say, "Hey! I been there!" LOL!

Desperately picking out all pine trees I planted just few in this neighborhood. I'll remove them quickly. After all those things you said about kudzu I think I should make one house covered with vines!
Have not seen any red dirt. I've seen through few pictures around Cairo (in atttachements) and ground looks like covered with grass. There might be red dirt if you dig it. But I better to leave terrain green.

Tbh this neighborhood is a little bit of everything. Alitlle bit of Florida, a little bit Georgia. There is a lot from Florida called Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park that is surrounded by willows. And also there is a lot called Thomasville Corner that is from Georgia. It is a red brick corner house sinking in all type of flowers. I'll make it posessed by kudzu.

You can't even imagine how I am sufferring from this creation process! Seriously! There are always some... unfortunate events... that came up every time with this neighborhood. I think sometimes this hood is cursed. That will be awesome if you will say, "Hey! I been there!" But you better to see it first. And maybe you won't say that you been.

I have been there! One of the churches we pastored was in Sopchoppy (in what I politely call the 'armpit' of Florida. It proudly calls itself the Redneck Riviera ...and no it wasn't a real good "fit" pastoral-wise *sigh*) ...anyway, I think the trees you are referring to as Willows, are actually the Cypress Swamp?

This is the "new" building that we bought from the Baptists in 2007(?), while we pastored there. It had powder blue carpet...

That one roadway picture you posted - those are the pine trees we have. They are everywhere - especially in that area.
And the sandy dirt looks more Florida to me than Georgia - but that also makes sense, for that area. Most of the traveling I've done through Georgia is along the I-75 corridor - and that is all red clay.

This [the area you are focused on] is not an affluent/wealthy part of the USA. Most of the homes are older - built between 1945-1990. There are a lot of trailer parks (single-wide mobile homes) and a lot of modular suburban ranch houses. Those "Heritage Homes" you posted previously would be for the few wealthy land owners - who have big spreads, swimming pools, and horses in the pasture. The pre-1945 homes would be the 2-story, white, wooden farmhouse style with porches. Most homes are wood or cement block (built from the 60's til now). "Fancy" houses are brick.

Oh! And most of the towns are just crossroads - you blink, and you've missed them. Gas station, diner, post office, 3-4 older houses, railroad tracks - that's it. ...on to the next "town." OR the town is a bit bigger and looks like suburban sprawl with your Wal-Mart, Piggly-Wiggly, Ace Hardware, 2 - 3 gas stations, several fast food places, a motel/lodge, railroad tracks...

Anyway I'm glad you are having fun with this hood!
