I've already had a major overload of CC before I started adding more because I was missing TV options for sims in tiny homes or apartments.I've also got tons of Mods and hacks to correct issues like fighting on community lots or in apartment complexes.

That's weird, because I would say I have very little, and I have 525 MB. Monique's computer alone is 495 KB. Are you sure you didn't misread GB as KB? Or would that be way too much?

1.68 GB, 5,806 Files, 107 Folders today

Compared to:
1.46 GB, 4,802 Files, 86 Folders on 31st December 2017,
1.16 GB, 3,906 Files, 64 Folders on 16th December 2015,
893 MB, 3,041 Files, 44 Folders on 21st November 2014,
515 MB, 2,080 Files, 20 Folders on 13th January 2014,
401 MB, 1,705 Files, 12 Folders on 4th October 2013
and
296 MB, 1.262 Files, 4 Folders on 27th March 2013.

Nearly two and a half years since I last posted in this thread. A thousand new CC files in all that time isn't too bad? I generally have a game that I like now, so I don't download as much as I did in my early days. Clothing and hair are still are still my biggest weaknesses. I don't have many downloading sprees nowadays, but I recently had one for Adult Male shorty pyjamas. My main sources are MTS and Simphany.com. I've been downloading (and making) CC clothing since before I started playing, and the organisation of my CC leaves a lot to be desired. Most of the older clothing is still in the root Downloads folder. One of these days I'll sort it out, bur I'm a bit afraid to move things in case stuff stops working. In addition to all this I have another 300 files in the SavedSims folder. About half of these are Sims and the others are mainly clothing recolours I've done myself.

All Sims are beautiful -- even the ugly ones.

Despite my recent download sprees I still have less than 6GB total.
For one download folder I have 2.5GB, 6,500 files, 268 folders.
For my medieval folder I have 2.45GB, 5,618 files, 338 folders
I also have some middle eastern cc not in game which just amounts to 88MB, 200 files.

I'm quite cautious with my downloading. I don't want so much that my ageing computer struggles. I look at everything to see if I really want it or need it, deleting unwanted colours and avoiding high poly. There are a lot of hacks that others use that I don't feel is necessary for me - annoyances that I can tolerate rather than 'hack out', for example. However, it is hard to avoid downloading some beautiful stuff that appears on this site...

Combined with my own stuff in SavedSims, I have 3.16 GB of custom content + 1.16 GB of medieval stuff that I swap in and out of the game depending on if I play medieval or not.

What am I doing wrong, or how are you guys finding the time to download so much?! I'd never get time to actually play the game!

I try VERY hard not to go looking for things now. If I don't see it or don't know it exists, I'm somewhat less likely to download it.

^ *Evil cat sends HobbesEd links to all the new shinies* I've got 6.67 gigs, 18,832 files and 1,713 folders in my dl section ( I have an inordinate love for sub folders, don't judge me lol). I have another 30ish gigs of cc not in my current game that is a combination of specific cc I use for Era games ( I play caveman and old West in addition to my regular urban grunge game) and basically a JV squad, hoping to make the varsity at some point. Hair is my biggest downfall, I have about 1.50 gigs in the current game and another 3-4 gigs on the JV squad. About 42K files, 42,283 files as of yesterday. 6.83 GB in size. Everything's compressed but nothing is bundled. I'm not planning on getting rid of anything although I do retire items when it's clear I'm not going to use them or they don't look the way I need them to look, or there are more recolors than I need. I download new items all the time. As long as I don't go over 45K or load lots up with too much stuff, the game is pretty stable.

I've got 5 GB of CC-16, 538 files, 635 folders.
That's in the main downloads folder in game.
Then there's the floors, walls and recolors outside of the downloads folder. They're about another 5 GB.
I blame the new computer for this. Because it's got far more RAM to process it with, I can go bananas and the game still loads in 10 minutes.

I'm in heaven.

I've got 1.79 GB, 9 564 files, 696 folders.
Once I've had something like 1.85 GB of CC, but I cut it down to 1.5 GB by compressing, repositoring and deleting bump maps. I guess I'll have to cut down the amount of CC, because there's not much left to compress or repository.

I have a 7.25 GB downloads folder. The game needs 7-8 minutes to load (I have timed it, lol!).

15,4 GB with 30,385 files, even when bundled and compressed. My game loads in little under 30 minutes (+ the time when loading the first family which is like 5 min). Might not be good for people with no patience but i just do something else when its loading. Granted i don't download much stuff anymore (except 4t2 stuff when new packs come out....those are the death of me every time)

I am on a very large downloading spree right now, mostly furniture and furniture recolours. I decided I wanted more up to date furniture meshes and all matching woods so I am pirate wood adding everything. I am at about 12 gigs right now. I had been at 14, compressing made it about 10.5 and I have probably another gig or 2 to install.
My SSD loads the game in about 12 minutes, it seems to match my gigs pretty much so I am happy with that.

I've got over 250 folders in my downloads folder and it's almost 2GB bicause most of it is small sized files and many are hacks or hacked objects. My game loads in less than a minute and I get to my town much faster and the family loads in seconds on my almost 8 year old laptop.

Majority of my files are mods and fixes. There's also quite a few skyboxes, custom skins and a few eyes, and some default textures.

Bear in mind, I was also scared that collectively downloading CC for a custom downtown SimCity was going to bloat my Downloads folder up...

403 MB, 1 091 files, 57 folders. Everything is freshly squeezed/compressorized, but I don't think I've merged any packages.

To update from my last comment; I have 4.63GB of cc in my Downloads folder at the moment, which means I have 15k~ files and 33 folders. My biggest folders are the worst offenders for the size:

Bodyshop_Hair: 949mb
Bodyshop_Clothing: 903mb
Build_HoodDeco: 717mb

Everything else is 200mb~ and under. I compress everything but bundle certain cc; walls and floors are bundled separately, windows, doors, and buy deco are not. Hairs and clothes are bundled as well because I don't want to lose the recolors.

Have now bundled and squished this down to 27.3GB - 18,860 files, 351 folders, so I'm happy. That'll go down even further when I bundle the jewellery, object recolours and clothing meshes (once I finish adding fat morphs to them), but I just spent the last few hours hiding all the new floors from the catalogue and now I just want to play.
