I'm just going to avoid updating for now. What a nice mess EA made with CC objects. D:

Personally,I don't think they give a damn.

On the other hand, if EA's hands are tied by all of the existing CC, then they probably can't add new features, which means no new EPs.

Does this affect store content, or are they safe from borkage?

#30 Old 18th Oct 2011 at 1:35 AM
Most likely store content is safe as it is their stuff, TinTin, it's only user created CC that isn't working. And while I'm annoyed that a lot of my favorite CC is borked, I can understand it as they have to make new commands for pet interactions which were not there before. I'm using this as a chance to clear our old CC I'm not using and not updating/installing Pets until there's a fix or updates to the CC.

Store content in package form is supposed to also be broken from what I've read.

Take in consideration that I'm french and I try my best to write an understandable english :)

Does anyone know if this http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=428179 still works? I was thinking I could use it to put clutter on custom tables or vice versa. That said, I'm not sure if I fully understood what the new patch has done. .///.

Guys, this isn't because EA is out to get us. They have to update everyone of their objects to work with Pets, and unfortunately they are under no obligation to inform modders of this change until it appears in the game. Is it terrible and does it suck for all the modders out there? Yes. Is EA out to get them? No.

Well, it does explain that one thread in Help we had about slots.

Since all the mods I used are still WIP, I never planned to load my Saves until I've play-tested newly patched games until the weekend at least, Which has always been my MO during patch-season - "load New games". Which is why we always have warnings about making backups especially for these kinds of scenario.

And I'm not relishing redoing all my WIP projects as they are all "Slot-touched". Let's hope the programmers can find a way to batch-fix these as Delphy did for the TXTC resource. Otherwise, man! We are fucked is right! All the object CC creators have a massive project ahead of them doing the manual steps Inge posted, and those who have since become inactive and won't bother would be leaving a trail of broken CC, so hopefully we'll hear good news instead of bad news, eh?

Sounds very dodgy to me... I'm definitely going to wait a few until everything gets fixed.... or unborked... or whatever. How does this affect EA store CC? Anyone know? I'm asking because along with 3rd party CC, I have loads of EA Store CC.

This happened with Sims 2 Pets and Sims 1 Pets as well, things like tables, chairs, couches, bathtubs etc need to be updated for new animal interactions, animals scratch furniture, animals need to be bathed etc. A lot of CC broke with the Pets expansions from the prior two versions of the Sims so it is not like this is entirely enexpected.

If you read the thread on the front page it is only objects with slots, interactions and animations that are borked, that means that your custom bunkbeds and your custom chairs will be messed up but your paintings, patterns, walls and floors, plants, sculptures, clothes, hair, makeup and tattoos will probably be fine. Theoretically all EA stuff will be fine but given Ambitions borked the photography skills and profession and they still haven't fixed it completely who knows.

To be honest I don't mind having to start over since it gives me the chance to get rid of a ton of stuff I don't use and a chance to see how merged Cc will function with collections. All I have to say is EA. for borking our games yet again.

Many people said that Store CC in Sims3pack would not be affected as EA have to take care of their monies. But I won't patch anything until there is a fix for CC.

Hey guys! Don't patch unless you have to. Seems the patch has broken all CC that uses slots. This means tables, couches, etc. If you patched in the last few days with the store patch (it was an in-game pop-up from what I have read) your store crap should be ok. Just don't use the new patch until you either have to because you're installing Pets or until creators have had the chance to update.

And don't forget to remove your hacks and mods if you do patch. They rely on game version compatibility so it doesn't matter if you install the EP or not. You patch, you update hacks.

Apparently the new patch fixes the graphical issues experienced by Mac players. So the Mac lovers out there might want to patch regardless and just play vanilla for a while.

Unfortunately, I patched before I saw this thread and now, none of my mods work. Even the NRAAS mods don't work. My game just crashes if even one is in there.

Twallan's mods have to be updated in order to work.

A few of my mods appear to be working, but I've only tested for like 2 minutes. I don't use custom furniture so I don't have a problem with that

Sounds like you have several options:

1) Wait for all of the fixes.

2) Remove all of your CC.

3) Uninstall everything and reinstall without the patch.

Thanks. I've already removed all the CC's and I think I'll just try waiting for the CC's to be updated. I need to take a break from the Sims anyways to focus on life. Thanks again!

Each time a reincarnation of Pets-related addon is released, major borkage is expected.

So if you have updated, you have to play vanilla until the modders for your hacks have released some news and updated stuff. And due to the scope of expected major borkage (as all things have to be Pets-enabled at the Pets' height levels, among other things), do not expect quick turnaround until the weekend at the earliest, though I expect this would be an ongoing thing.

Sometimes, the fixes also do not apply to pre-patch games, and is only applicable to new games. So, before patching, other than the usual backups, some like to ensure they have all their favorite Binned content (Sims, Households, Lots) in the Bin to be transplanted into the new games.

Anyways, links are now updated in the following Wiki FAQs.
I've tested all links, but if EA release patches to fix this patch like during the 1.5-to-1.8 and the 1.9-to-1.10 fiascos, some of these links would get pulled. So, feedback of incorrect links, typos and so on can be reported here.

Oh, and in <dvd drive>:\Support\UpdatesMac ? Just one for the SuperPatcher and one for the region 1 code, is good. Thanks, Emino!

Anyone else having problems aside from CC? My sister has a brand new install (just got a new computer two days ago) with AMB, WA, and late night. All was working fine until she updated to this patch where suddenly sims are invisible and glitchy and the game crashes after about a min.
