I do appreciate the return of collections. Just a shame EA didn't bother making collections for their store sets or the other themes in the previous EP's and SP's. It's gonna be a pain to try and organize them all.

And to do it right. I have NO idea where some of the house plants go.

I read my way all trough this thread and I still don't know: are clothes, hair, makeup etc. (CAS CC) broken too? Or just objects that pets interact with?

All objects, eg furniture, paintings that you buy from the Build/Buy catalog. Not stuff you use in Create-a-Family.

Okay, awesome, thanks. I read somewhere else that stuff ON sims is affected too, but as I read this thread it seemed kinda unlogical to me. Better to be sure tho! Probably read it on Yahoo answers or something like that anyway.

Actually, there have been reports of problems with some cc hairs (especially from Peggy). Why? I have no idea, but there is something in the code that can mess up your sim/game (not messy looking hair...unless that's the style you want )

....this entire thread is the exact reason I haven't installed any custom content at all, until EA is done releasing EP's. Which I hope isn't soon, by the way, haha..

oh and sorry to the people who had to take out all cc. doesn't sound funn..

Heh, well it wasn't that bad actually Once we had the rigfix I just ran everything through that... had to wait for fixes on beds and tubs but I didn't have too many... and since then everything's been fine. I don't use much custom hair so that hasn't been an issue for me. And hacks always have to be updated.

I tend to treat every new EP release as a time to start fresh and evaluate what CC I REALLY want, anyway. Take everything out on day 1 and put it back gradually as I find out what needs updating and what I really don't need to keep.

so since everyone is having issues with CC are would it be best not to get pets until a work around or new patch comes out? I did install the new patch which totally made using CC impossible, so I'm now in the processing of re-installing. Wanting pets but don't want to go through the CC BS again.

I wasn't going to get the patch until after I got Generations (next month) but I needed collections more so I grabbed the patch. Grabbed the fix, did all my 3rd party CC, fired up my game and everything works. Actually, even my beds worked I was so surprised. And as a bonus, my game runs a whole lot smoother and faster specially in the WA worlds before this patch. Now I'm afraid to install Generations.. I'm not getting Pets but I will probably get the next EP so I knew sooner or later I needed to patch.

I have the newest patch, and I guess the custom content being broken isn't just me. But the Sims not moving up to next stage in life, I guess that must be something else.

I haven't been playing the sims 3 for past 1/2 year so I haven't been up with the news lately.

I have a lot of store contents in .package form. Will i need to use granthes tool to fix the items? What about the items that I have installed in the form of sims3pack?

Thanks!

Granthes's tool will fix the .package files, yes. As for the sims3packs, you can use the tool on the .dbc file that is created when you install a sims3pack. That is just a package file with a different extension.

Note that some objects, e.g. beds and tubs, will not be completely fixed by his tool. For those things, you should look for updates (or you can find instructions at his site for fixing manually).

Only if you share your creations with others. Then, yes, as that means some of those files in the DCBackup folder would be packed into the Sims3Pack that you distribute/upload.

And just a note: 1.26 is no longer the current patch. Game Help:Patch_Tablewiki
