This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Oldies adopted Lilith, and now she has no family tree!
Hey everyone! First time posting here... So I am playing Pleasantview rotationally, and after finding out how much Lilith's family dislikes her (and the feeling being mutual), I decided to move her out of the Pleasant hosehold and into the Oldies household so she can be raised by her grandparents for her teen years. This is an idea I think I got from Cindy at Pleasant Sims (she is so inspirational). My aim was to have Lilith keep her family ties with Mary-Sue, Daniel and Angela - but reside in the Oldies household.

Anyway so this is what I did:
Loaded the Oldies household. Made Coral and Lilith friends (which I thought would be necessary to enable the Propose > Move In interaction.
Invited Lilith over, noticed that there was no Propose option, therefore no Move In option.
Started to think on my feet, and spawned the Family Manipulator (part of Sim Manipulator mod object) and navigated to the Family section of the Manipulator pie-menu, then chose Adopt Lilith.
Navigated to Lilith's family tree and noticed that she was now a child of Coral and Herb Oldie, with Mary-Sue Pleasant being her sibling.
Started to freak out.
Placed the Sim Blender, and used the teleport/summon menu to teleport Mary-Sue, Daniel and Angela, then used the Relationships section of the Sim Blender pie-menu to set family relationships between Lilith and her parents and sibling.
Navigated back to Lilith's family tree and noticed that she now has NO family relations, she's just a lone sim!

Things I tried to do to fix this, but did not have any effect:
Saved and left the lot, re-loaded the lot.
Removed Lilith's family ties with each individual and then re-tied her to them.
Going to the Pleasant household and doing the same Sim Blender teleport/summon then Relationships process.

I have Sim PE loaded up right now but I don't exactly know what I'm doing in Sim PE, and I'm scared!

Is there any way to salvage this so that Lilith gets her family tree back?

What *should* I have done?

Yeah, teens can't be moved in by normal means. What you should have done was simply summon her to the Oldie lot and use a mod to move her in - I use Inge's Teleporter Plus shrub for that. That would have kept her family tree intact.

Since it looks like you just started playing this neighborhood, the easiest way to fix this would be to restore a backup. With Pleasantview, you can either use the Pleasantview from the game files or (highly recommended) meetme2theriver's fixed Pleasantview https://meetme2theriver.livejournal.com/63030.html
It fixes the corruption the Maxis version ships with, like the two Skips, Brandi Broke's baby, all the dead ancestors, etc. Also features a Bella Goth that can be moved in.

You could also download the slightly altered version of course... https://strangetomato.tumblr.com/po...ist-do-you-love

Adoption wipes the family tree since it means Lilith is now their daughter. I moved Lilith in with her grandparents by teleporting her over and using Inge's teleporter cat to 'move in'. Basically what Ovenhole is suggesting. I don't know the shrub, but it sounds to be almost the same thing.

I ended up figuring out how to fix my issue in Sim PE with the help of this thread: https://modthesims.info/showthread....ht=familyl+ties

It was a matter of working out how to use the Family Ties function in Sim PE and knowing which buttons to click!

Thank you so much for replying! I ended up working out how to fix the family tree in Sim PE using the Family Ties section and I found another thread on here that helped with that (https://modthesims.info/showthread....ht=familyl+ties)

I am a total idiot and I've never backed up my neighbourhoods. I'm already playing with meet me to the river's clean template - so good! I went further on it and I've renovated all the households to my liking, so I really should make a backup because I've put a lot of work into it.

Funny that you mention Bella Goth, super random but Herb Oldie just went on a date with Bella! Unlikely couple!

Thanks again for your reply!

Oh my goodness.... have never seen this before! I might download another neighbourhood 'with a twist'.... I'm dying to know what the twist is! Thanks for linking it to me!

Thank you so much for replying! So you also emancipated Lilith from the Pleasant household? What did it for you? For me, it was when I got Lilith to ask Daniel for homework help, and he said no. I've never seen that happen before; couldn't believe a parent was refusing to help their child! That was the last straw.
