What do you mean by not showing?
They do not change the names of actual sims, only newly generated.
And it works only for some language versions, unfortunately. I made it on the english one, so if you have for example dutch one, it may not work properly.

I have the English version. The NPC names are still the same as they were before I downloaded the mod.

As I said, they will change only for newly generated NPCs, not for existing ones. If you mean that every new generated NPC has got got default name, I have no idea what is causing the problem - no one using english version had this issue.

Are you a mac user?

A mod for Japanese or other Asian sounding names would get my attention. But this is a start. Thanks for this!

No, I don't use a Mac; I have a PC. If I make a new save file, the names should be different, right?

The NPCs at the start of the game are not generated randomly - they are a fixed part of the world. Only NEW ones generated later (babies and immigrants) will get the new names.

I think you do a very nice job with English , and I understood what you were trying to say completely. I too have always disliked the way names are put together in this game. I am absolutely against Racisim and intolerance of any kind ,however, the goofy, willy-nilly style, of sticking Ethnic names together just doesn't work for me - or for you either, it seems. Yumi McDonald, isn't as bad as some that I've seen randomly thrown together in my game. How about Shiva Robinson, Aefre Jenkins, and Osvaldo Smithe? It's terribly dumb to mix very Ethnic first names with familar surnames names, and it sounds...even worse. It would have been far better for EA's developers to program Sims names in Ethnic Groups, such as German, Ukranian, African, Indian, Russian, etc., and select those names in pairs. So that first names and Surnames both come from the same Ethic group, and sound well together. It's so stupid to just stick a couple of names together without giving any though to whether or not they actually GO together! Thank for this naming Mod. It will come in very handy! :D

Love the idea of this - I don't mind the EAxian names in my Sci-fi worlds, but my historical ones...!

Miss Discordia - do you know if this will work/ not have issues with
the new (1.38) patch?

No no just put it in your Mods/Packages folder as usual I think that the Overrides folder was put there as an example of how you can organize mods by making sub folders to sort them in within the Packages folder.
As long as it's in Packages, it'll work.

Aw, the poor puddy tat! He fall down and go... BOOM!
I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

Is this compatible with 1.38?

Wow, it's beautiful outside. I should probably do something....

Like close the blinds on my window so there isn't a glare on my computer screen.

I really would have liked to use this mod when I saw the title because I was hoping to see more international names, but it saddens me a bit that European seems to equal British. Frankly, I think they're very similar to the "American" ones. I would have loved to see some Eastern European, Scandinavian and other surnames...

Well, they are similar to "american" because americans (I don't mean natives) are originally mostly british?

It's just because I want to keep my neighbourhood just as my city. I don't see many scandinavians, asians, afroamericans etc. living here.

I made a scandinavian name mod for myself, including also some finnish and german names for more variety. I think I may share it one day.

Sorry, bit of constructive criticism here.

I'm English and the names given as examples aren't English-sounding names. They all sound as foreign to me as the American ones. They'd look good in an over-the-top fanfiction steampunk/Dickens/Austen novel thats aiming to be way OTT. I was excited when I saw the title of this mod but my oh my was I disappointed when reading the examples. I mean really, "Faustine Truman"? That sounds very American and un-European to my ears.

I'm supporting the Optimist Camp for the Sims 4.

Sorry, the title of the mod was different, but it needed to be changed due to the fact that other names were insulting for some over-emotional simmers.
You may not know how hard is it to choose that much of different names, especially when you are not english.
And yes, names just as Faustine or Carmilla happen here, same goes for names like Anna, Mary and Catherine. Also, I stated in the mod description that it includes names that would fit a victorian/dark/steampunk/whatever alternative theme.
Simple tip: If you don't like that mod, just don't download it.
Remember, it is not a MODERN EUROPEAN NAMES mod. :P
