Default Is it possible to make a more simplified swimmable beach and/or lake?
I was wondering is there a way where there can be tiles made to just throw over the pool too make it easier to create a beach or lake? Someone made floor times to cover the pool for sims 1 i was just wondering could it be done for sims 2 ? It would be much easier to make that type of them instead of boolProp this and that.

Default TILEs
the tiles that would be placed on top of the pool would be something similar to floor tiles. the floor tiles would be designed to look like beach themed or laked themed colors.... it was done in sims1 i will find the sight so that you can get an idea \i really think it would be much easier.

I remember those. I think they were called Pool Rugs. They were blobby shaped rugs (looking like lake edges) that you layered on top of the pool. It was a good effect. Not sure if we can do that with sims2 pools??

I found that I couldn't simply lay a rug across the pool like we did in Sims1. It sinks to the bottom of the tank unfortunately.

Oh, that's what you mean. You can hack the floor tiles (I did it myself). I wrote a tutorial myself, unfortunetly I have it on another computer.

Its not actually the pool water that makes a Sim swim you know, its them diving off the board. So having the diving board over anything will make them swim. There is no need to use the swimming pool for beaches etc and besides it doesn't look half as good as those made using terrain paints.

If you search the EA site for user HabboArwen - he has a tutorial for making swimmable lakes. And now using moon_eze's invisible fence you don't even need to worry about making the 4 click high *lip* to stop the Sims swimming out through the ground.

The most important things to remember are:
1) have enough flat space under the diving board for the Sims to dive
2) have a ladder out
3) if the board/ladder is set higher than the *usual* in the game the animation looks strange but it still works.
4) use the invisible fence around the edges so the Sims don't swim out - taking care not to fence off the ladders =)

saffi,

May ask the "what you don't understand" questions on the corresponding tutorials or threads probably with a screenshot. Just saying you don't understand without telling what or which part you don't understand can barely get someone to know what you mean. A screenshot can help a lot words cannot tell alone.

There're several ways to do it. From moderate to complex. It also depends on your game version(s), and in your case, Sunni's type (the swim-pool approach) is not working unless you''ve a copy of the base game and/or UNI alone.
