Castle spires and or tent style roofs
I have made two tutorials about this type of roofing:

Castle spire roofs:

http://www.imagestation.com/album/p...l?id=2130911653
or you can find the same one here:
http://www.workshop.thesimsresource...hp?id=197&page=

Tent style roofing (like those in my M*A*S*H lot)
http://thesims2.ea.com/exchange/sto...&user_id=153792

With this tute - I picked up on a problem:
before you flatten the ground floor (after the raising process) remove the border fences before using the level terrain tool to flatten the ground.

Secondly: I made a typo, that's 15 clicks not licks :argh: lol

They should be pretty easy to follow (no licking required)

Cheers,
nina

I love those stairs and with the help of mikeinside's tut I managed to build them. 1:3; 2:2; 3:1; 1:1:1:1; (think all the possibilities!).
But I got mad/nut with the clicking! Sometimes there were six steps instead of four and so on, sometimes only three. :smash:
If you don't have/know this problem, just skip.
For all the others (who also want to kill their mouse sometimes) here a tiny trick:
I tried and found out, that it is not necessary to do all the clicking. Actually you need "four clicks down" (or eight or 12) and you can get them just using the connecting stairs on the ground. After you have lowered the spot (with the help of the connecting stairs instead of clicking the edge of the foundation), you can place a foundation and then go on just like in mikeinside's tut. (To lower 4 steps, I didn't need lowering at all. I just had a wall-"column" set on the ground without foundation.) After you have placed the "helping wall-column" (on exactly the spot told by mikeinside), you do the boolprop constrainfloorelevation false and continue with the floortiles.
Now that I am posting this, I hope you will not think I want to be a "know-it-all". (*imagine a blushing smiley*) Without Mike and Jack_d_Spratt I would still sit here with nothing but the odd Maxi-stairs, that ruin every house. So first of all: many thanks to that wonderful tut. I just was so happy, that I could do the stairs so much quicker now, that I wanted to share. (I don't have anything else to share, I'm a failure in creating anything - I only manage downloading all the wonderful stuff others did.)

I found your tutorial understandable and easy to follow. Can't wait to try the stairs. Have you tried putting the botton stairs at a right angle to the upper and against the right wall? Thanks, SJ

I would like to show a tutorial on the stairs seen in these 2 pictures.

Apparently, thats a T shaped stair case. And here is a little tutorial on how to do it without cheats. Sorry, I didn't take alot of time to put this together, so its just words.

Step 1, build 2 floors.
Step 2, build a 1x1 piece of foundation on the bottom.
Step 3, go to the top, and in front of that foundation, on the tiles, move back one space and place a piece of floor(any kind). then have the top of the stairs there.
Step 4, make the last 2 or 3 stair pieces, and you have a lowercase and capital T shaped staircase.

Not a good tutorial, having no good screenshots, but it isnt hard at all to figure out.

This can only be done without a foundation for the entire house, unless you are making these stairs for the basement. Also, you can make L shaped stairs, but you can't place a wall next to the foundation. Tinker around with this, and you can make some simple stair designs.

I have to thank mikeInside for the stairs tutorial. Even tough the tutorial is not 100% clear (it is hard to sound straightfoward 'cause the bunch of odd procedures involved), it is excellent and made me test and pratice a lot. See You.

I love a good tutorial! I'm glad there are alternate sites, however, as I have a terrible time getting the ones at Sims2 to load. I've got a good fast connection, so I figure it must be site traffic. Very frustrating.

Default Roof colours
Hey can anybody tell if it's possible to create a roof (Not flat) that you can put floor tiles on. I know about the boolprop cheat but would like some better colours for the proper roofs. Perhaps somebody knows where I can find a wide range of custom roof patterns to download, or a way of covering roofs in floor tiles?

Once upon a time I saw a lot with the redbrick fence as stair railing for modular stairs. I do not recall how to achieve this effect, and I can't seem to find the lot or anything else like it for that matter on the exchange. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

I cant build my swimmable lake. Everytime I try to lower it, a blue veil kinda thing stays floating on top of the real pool. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone kno how to fix it?

I'm not the author of this tutorial, but a friend of mine found it somewhere in
the internet and thought it may be helpful to me. And so, I submit it here...
Do not ask me any question about it because I'm still learning and not the one
to ask

Default Moi's Diagonally-looking Pool tutorial (for users without EP2 or above)

Hello everyone, this is my first attempt to make a tutorial.
I know I've no nice html tool to make it presently.

But, there it goes...

As its name says so, I tried to talk about a few uses of this topic in the tutorials. Hopefully, it fits for most people... :bump:

If there's any question, error or suggestion, you're more than welcome to pm me as long as it's constructive or at least not abusive.
