Default Hark! a suggestion
This is absolutly WODERFUL my friend!

But one thing about this sign has always bugged me, so I present you with a question: where does one see most open/closed signs in coffee shops, restaraunts, and general places of business?

Windows!

Simply put, is there any way that you could enable the placing of this sign on windows - I mean, that is preaty much the only place that I ever see open/closed signs, so why cant our Simian friends have the same?

If you have Pets, you can also keep pressed the CTRL+ALT keys, in order to place any wall-mounted object onto an already "occupied" wall.
