@Misty-2004, I love to knit, but my doctor made me quit . I can't do any "hand" work because of my lymphodema.

@JDaCapo...sorry, I'm dense. How will we be prepared? I'm guessing it's because we've been puttering along without them for quite a while. Just wanted to see whether I'd missed something. Derp.

@smorbie1 We will hopefully have a better sims-like game if EA decides to screw us over and take away Origin - along with all our purchased games.

@Misty_2004 The Paralives game... if EA decides to take away our beloved Sims games, we will have Paralives.

It's okay. But I do miss it sometimes. I had just taught myself to crochet, AND I was knitting a bed cover for my daughter.

On the positive side, I have more time to play sims!

Or you could just buy TS2 on discs. I have it that way and it still works.

Smorbie there is that! I find it's much better to look at life that way--when one door closes another usually opens.

Yeah, you have to look on Amazon or ebay - whichever is cheaper. Even better, no Origin.

No. It's lymphodema from the removal of so many lymph nodes. But, I have a sling to wear when it gets bad and it's not cancer, so I'm fine with it. :3

Oh. How does knitting harm you though? And have you thought of at least finishing the blanket? That really sucks

Lymphedema is a build up of lymph (the clear, liquid part of the blood) . It is aggravated by lifting heavy things or constant movement of the arm or hand. Not everybody finds it painful, but I do, even though mine is "fairly mild) according to my doctor. So, I could finish the blanket, but it would take a long time and I would be in increasing pain as I over used the hand to do it.

They removed 18 lymph nodes when they did my mastectomy. Apparently that's a lot; I don't know how many I'm supposed to have. A lot of people with much worse swelling than I have can soldier on because it doesn't really hurt for some reason. I have a high pain threshold, but it still really does hurt me.

The swelling starts at my elbow and makes that area hurt, and then travels to my hand. Sometimes it swells up to about twice the size of the other one. Really painful. Wearing my compression sling for a couple of days usually does the trick, but I'm not eager to experience it to begin with.

Sorry, didn't mean to run on so. Anyway, as I said, it's not cancer,so it's fine, and it gives me more time to keep my simmies in line. :3

I see, but it still sucks when you have to give up doing something special for a family member. Still, glad you're doing alright now.

Thought I would update this with the latest video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEHtQcbAmAQ
Check out how fluid the objects are and how they change size and can be placed. pretty cool.

Damn! This might blow EA out of the water if it is easily modable and play is good.

Nice, but I'd like to see how it plays and how it can be interacted with.

Same. It's no good it being pretty if the gameplay is lacking. That's what I'm looking forward to seeing.

I still need to see what the human characters look like. The game will stand or fall with that for me.

Personally, I hate building stuff, basically. Especially when there are no grids to control symmetry in my buildings As someone said above, we have to wait to see the characters. Otherwise, I'd just be happy if somebody fixed neighborhood corruption in TS2...

new video on the beds. Like the other furniture, it is very fluid. Check out how it makes a bunk bed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnf1m0H4vkc

It's starting to look like just a building simulator.

I'm still waiting for updates on the "sims" and "pets" - because for me, those are the most important parts of a life simulation game.

Yeah, I'm not so interested in just a building simulator. I can build boxes with the games I already have. :3

As others have said. Yes the video looks very nice and very promising....for a building simulator. And I'm not that much into building and furnishing, I'm into playing.
I know it's early in the games development and the developer is probably just focusing on the building for now and the rest will come later.

Buuuut....I need to know how the game will play and the "Sims" will look in order to get excited. If the gameplay and Sims don't work for me then the ability to stretch a bed to fill a room wouldn't really matter all that much. I also like the stretchable rooms in Sims 4, but I'm still not playing that game because the gameplay doesn't work for me.

Right now I'm also wondering whether some of that, frankly astonishing, freedom in the building and furnishing will have to be pedaled down in order to make the gameplay work...

Gameplay is everything. As we know from Sims1 where our toons weren't much better than Atari sprites and from Attack of the Pudding People (also known as Sims 3), we'll play anything if the gameplay is compelling even if the graphics are a bit lacking. The gameplay is what gives games longevity beyond the first few times playing. So it's still wait and see for me.

I'm sure they were better than Atari ones, if you mean the 2600. I had that back in the day. There were games where you were just a square. Anything from the 90s+ would look better than stuff from the late 70s and early 80s. I only had Sims2 - no modern computer before late 2004.
