Default What was your dinner last night?
Something to think about...did any of you guys have an interesting dinner worth talking about?

Last night, it was raining, not really in the mood to cook, so I had some extra cash and ordered a pizza. Only place that delivers in my area is Domino's, but I can live with that. Besides, I donated $5 to St. Jude's to help out and tipped the driver 15%, which is a hefty amount considering I don't make much and my father keeps telling me I should be receiving donations for my status. Either way, my father may never understand I have a heart.

I had eaten part of the pie and share part with my mom...

The pizza was a bacon and onion pan pizza. Smelly, but delicious.

I had ice cream. It wasn't meant to be my dinner, but once it escaped the freezer, it forced me to eat it.

Leftover stew for me, nachos for the guys. I try to cook a few bigger meals so I can have them for leftovers. Otherwise I have to cook 3 dinners sometimes which gets exhausting.

Last night I didn't eat because of my lunch. It hated me.

Nachos.

Simple, but I needed to fill that void the stomach has.

Chased it down with the aguas frescas Jamaica (pronounced Ha-my-ka). I could have bought Horchata or Cantaloupe flavor, but Hibiscus is a favorite of mine since I was in high school.

I took my neighbor to the grocery store yesterday morning and made the mistake of glancing at the doughnuts.

Donuts are pretty tempting. Why else would there be forbidden donuts?

A meal replacement bar sample.

It looks like in my near future, I'm going to be buying my way thin with an aggressive diet of only meal replacement foods and diet pills for the morbidly obese.

I recently met with my dietician and my parents and I are going to discuss with the dietician on financial aid for the meals and meds.

You think with ⅔ of the US addicted to food in some way, they would treat the symptoms and loss of control involved with obesity as a real addiction. But they don't, reasoning "You need to eat." That's why I sought out a dietician.

Shrimp instant ramen cooked in Pyrex measuring cup rather than styrofoam.

It's not much of an upgrade, but it makes a better use of the vessel to microwave the water with a take out bamboo chopstick to act in the process of nucleation.

We cooked up veggie burgers. I put a little steak sauce on them and topped them with swiss cheese. We served them on a bed of mixed salad greens, dressed in a lemon balsamic vinegar (which is very sweet). We also had microwave steamed broccoli and cut up, pan fried/charred sweet potatoes. It was all around satisfying.

This morning for breakfast I cooked up spinach sauteed with red onion and eggs cooked with red onion, cream cheese, and brie. We also had toast made from slices of Tuscany pane and veggie sausages.

Pancakes (or what Americans probably would call crepes) with bacon and sugar. My nephew's version (and my dessert version) had chocolate spread (a somewhat more nutty version of Nutella - I've tasted both and they're both good since I love chocolate, but I think I'm more in favor of the not-Nutella one because it's a little bit less sweet and I grew up liking it. I tasted Nutella for the first time as an adult).

And yes, pancakes are often considered to be dinner where I live. Pancakes for breakfast isn't as common (unless it's leftovers). Few use maple syrup on pancakes here (but my dad used to like a different sugary syrup on his pancakes, which I found strange). I also like jam on my pancakes, though I prefer strawberry jam over blueberry. Just sugar is fine, too.

I do like American-style pancakes (we call them that, because reasons) but they kind of feel a bit more like breakfast, and nobody's got time for that in the morning. We actually have a type that looks similar to American-style pancakes (probably not the exact same ingredients, usually made with a sour type milk), but we don't call them pancakes.

Confusing much? Probably

I made Rubber Roast again.
It was supposed to be a very tender pot roast. Nope, its a rubber latex ball; Emmett's Homemade Rubber Roast.
It's almost magical how I can destroy a nice roast. Doesn't matter what kind, pork or beef, I will always cook it wrong so it comes out like a big rubber ball.
I feel bad for the animals who's flesh I've wasted. Maybe that's the Native American in me. I feel that I should at least learn to cook meat properly.
Oh well, I wanted hot dogs anyway.
Seriously, I need to stick to roast turkey. I can do turkey.

Sims are better than us.

Unsolicited Advice Alert

If you have a crockpot, cook the roast in that with 4 cups of beef stock for 4 hours on high or 6-8 hours on low depending on how big the roast is.

The roasts we get from the butcher are about 2-3 pounds. I cook slow cook them for about 6 hours with red potatoes cut in half and a handful or two of baby carrots. The roast comes out perfect every time.

EDIT: If you decide to try a roast this way, brown or pan sear it first. Crockpots don't brown stuff; roasts do not look pleasing or appetizing when just cooked without being seared first. I use olive oil with some butter in a dutch-oven type pan to do this, but you could do it however suits you.

And THAT is why I don't like roast.

Got part of a baguette, opened it up and stuffed it in the tosti machine. Smeared a thick layer of herbed spread cheese, piled on a sliced up avocado, and accidentally poured too much black pepper on top. 8/10 would eat it again including the excess black pepper

Kraft Mac and Cheese. Paw-shaped macaroni for Paw Patrol. (When I bought it, it was all that remained on the shelf. Might as well eat what I have.)

Still, it's a cute show with toyetic concepts. It's actually own by toy company Spin Master.

Toyetic? It's a word.

Toyetic (adjective) pertaining to the ability to make a character or item into a toy or a line of toys to sell in conjunction with a form of media, usually an audio\video format.

An abridged definition can be found on dictionary.com. One of the first exposures of this word was in the cult classic, Spielberg-approved cartoon series Freakazoid! In the mid 1990s

A slice of pizza. Only thing I've eaten since breakfast (a couple of toasted cheese&ham bread slices). Weirdly enough, I'm not particularly hungry.
