Default Tips and Tricks for getting through the maze of CC and mods?
Hello,

I have decided to try to play the Sims 4 again after years of not playing. But I am completely overwhelmed. So many new mods and cc have been created since I have last been here. Now I know how difficult it is to make 'one perfect' list with the essentials because everyone's play is different. I do wonder though, at this point in the game, which mods are absolutely necessary? Like mods that fix EA bugs and issues? Or a mod that lets you control the overal game? Any important big overhauls that override EA's work and makes this game more enjoyable to play?

Or is there any guide at all on how to get through the maze of CC and mods? I have been googling all day and everything is just too overwhelming. I am now thinking of just playing the vanille game. But I know I really enjoy the game more when atleast EA's weird decisions have been improved.

I don't need or want a lot of CC. Just a default skin and some general default eyes is enough. I always wonder if there is a way to see what the most popular default skin is among players? Are there any defaults that are more general and are being used by a large portion of the players?

I'm sorry if this is another 'what should I download thread'. I have tried to be specific. Any links from external websites on how to tackle these things or just tips on how to look for CC better, are very welcome.

Thanks for taking the time to read my question.

my essential gameplay mods list, from going throu my mod folder quickly:
CAS 4 columns mod (for easier cas selecting) https://www.patreon.com/posts/more-columns-in-27751117
MCCC (for many things, configurable, i use for traits passing down to children and npc story progression, though the BG now has some story progression) https://deaderpool-mccc.com/#/
better mourning by bossmod https://modthesims.info/d/665563/be...urning-mod.html
stand still in cas https://modthesims.info/d/630172/st...-shooksims.html

if you want to play bust the dust/wedding stories there are fixers for both i believe

also i pretty much get all my mods from here or a tumblr called https://maxismatchccworld.tumblr.com/ they mostly have cas cc but there are traits and bb items as well

i dont really use a lot of gameplay mods. the rest of gameplay mods are a bunch of traits bc BG has so few. for default skin and eyes.. i use.. well i cant find what eyes i use. lol.

I'm in a similar situation to OP and so glad you posted this. I had a nosy at bosselady's other downloads and ended up downloading another five mods I didn't know I needed but absolutely do! :D

OP, This might not be essential but if you're into building have a look at TOOL mod. I think there's a bit of a learning curve in using it but some of the creations people make with it are mind-blowing! But even if you don't do crazy things with it I think it's probably a really useful tool for builders.
