Default Possible new proffesions.
If theres going to be careers and proffesions again, I have some ideas for proffesions.

This time of course, sims should be able to do them on their own without the player telling them to go to work and telling them to do every little thing of their job.

Onto the proffesions:

-Maid/cleaner.
I can't believe they didnt do this one for sims3. Seems like a great job for sims to have. They'd go over to the customer's house and clean it up. They could work freelance first here and there, but could eventually land a steady job at one or two houses, cleaning up there every day. Other sims could hire them to do that even.
Its just a job that shouldnt be restricted to NPC's.
Rewards for the proffesion could be various cleaning items that help the sim clean faster, and perhaps special objects such as a self cleaning toilet, shower and such.

-Gardener.
Same as maid pretty much, work free lance to work in gardens with the possibility to land a steady job of maintenance. At the top of the career your sim would go freelance again to become a garden architect and could place unique plants.

-Patrol officer.
An active part of the police career. Together with a partner they'd drive around town to act on problems big and small. Saving a kitty from a tree, mediating between neighbours with a problem, looking for missing children, arresting thieves, etc.
Your sim could get the options to let people go with just a warning, tell them to pay a fine or arrest them. Arresting people for minor things could get your sim in trouble though.

-Criminal.
Seems to work better as a proffesion than a career I think. Many opportunities could arise and your sim could choose what to do. They could stick with doing things that give less risk and less reward, or they could aim big with robbing a bank which would be a high risk.
The pick pocket interaction would be given to them, and this would pretty much be the first thing they could do. Later they could become a burglar, can steal bikes and other things, and can try to rob stores.
Since sims dont have guns, I would suggest using some sort of comical way for them to rob stores that cant possibly work in real life. Like using their hand as the "gun". That way it wont give people any ideas.
It's a very risky proffesion, lucky sims could get rich quick from it but your sim would be likely to spend quite some time in jail on occasion, especially if they fail at robbing a bank. Crime doesnt pay after all.
At the highest level, your sim could be some sort of mafia boss that has people working for him or her. Counterfitting money should also be a possibility.

yes! maids should so be in the Sims 4. I totally want to be one of those maid npc sims, it seems so fun. Imagine having love affairs with your boss and just cleaning and crap.
also, since there HOPEFULLY will be no rabbit holes in the Sims 4 (if there are rabbit holes, then the careers will definitely be more interactive and hopefully more creative

Interesting - how do you define careers and professions? I wouldn't describe any of those as professions though they could all be careers. Professions, here anyway, are jobs where you need specific training and qualifications in order to practice them: solicitor (lawyer), teacher, doctor and so on.

I no longer come over to MTS very often but if you would like to ask me a question then you can find me on tumblr or my own site tflc. TFLC has an archive of all my CC downloads.

Personally I'd love to play as a maid, butler or nanny in the house of some rich Sim. You get to see them go about their daily lives, have sordid affairs with the masters/mistresses of the house and when no one's home, you can chill out and lounge on their maxed out comfort sofa and watch their hi-def flat screen. Hopefully we'd have the option to steal things from the house too with a chance of getting caught or accused and then being fired.

Off that, it'd also be great to get references and have a resume. Basically it'd work like a job history based on the condition you left your previous job, so if your job meter was in the red, you'd leave with a bad reference and it will be harder to find a new job.

in sims3 careers are the rabbit hole ones and the ones where you can see your sims do the jobs are proffesions.

So hence proffesions.

Law Enforcement should be/should have been a profession, not a rabbit hole career. I want to have my sims respond to crimes the moment they happen. :/

Maid could easily be a small career. Could be a hotel cleaning lady then regular maid then managing maids then owning the company.

It'd be cute if a rank was called "Dust Bunny" and you work for a themed cleaning company.
I'm being silly, ignore me.

Could be neat if there would be possible construction sites to put down, public buildings that are build in a certain way. Would allow for construction workers to work on the site and progress could be made over time. Once finished, you could put down a new construction site for them to work at. Seeing how so many people work in construction, it really feels like an entire branch thats sorely missing and should be added to the game in some way.

I used to make a separate Sim to be the maid/baby sitter on The Sims 1. Worked well enough, I'd say.
But seeing it as a profession would be nice.

Teachers/Professors are much in demand as I see many career mods about it.
We have to wait for 9 EPs to have teacher as a EP career. So sad.

For new career/profession idea, I love to have;
Professions
1. Models
2. Songwriters
3. Entrepreneur
(You can own your own bookshop/your own cafe or your own TV station. Hire or fire employees, doing promotion stuff for your success. Etc.)

Careers
1. Pastry chef
We can have TS3 music career style; to split the specialty after a certain career level.
You either choose to be a chef or pastry chef
2. Lawyers

To tell you the whole truth, nothing but the truth, I honestly need to have a professions as pornstars and porn tycoons.
(Something like Hustler/Playboy style.)
I know, I know, I need the mod to do that, not in a base game.
But a man can dream, right?

I am really hoping for the job as a Model and they actually have a catwalk you can see. And you can model new items from the sims store.♥ I really hope they'll add seasons into the base game and they actually furnish community lots so you can see what's happening inside.
