Default How is the Sims 4 importing custom audio into the game?
I'm curious to know this. I just started looking into modding the Sims 4 a couple of days ago and my gosh the amount of files is overwhelming. Kudos to all your scripters out there!

I have a hunch that it would be possible to add custom sounds to objects (Piano, Guitar, DJ Booth, etc etc) without needing to convert the audio to .propx by calling the same functions (if they exist, that is) the game is calling to import our custom audio to radiostations. What I can't find is how it's doing it. Anyone know where I might need to look?

Edit: While my initial goal for wanting to learn this has been resolved through other means thanks to MizoreYukii's useful links, I would still like to know how the game is doing this for further understanding!

I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but we have sound tools now which allows custom radio stations. https://modthesims.info/d/639090/ts4-sound-tool.html
And there's this thread about sounds in scripts: https://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=645291
That's all I know of though.

Hey there!

While I wasn't looking to add any custom radio stations, I had a theory that we might have been able to inject some code to change the way the game pulls audio information for objects and I was hoping to use the Custom Music file in The Sims 4 folder as a source of information in order to achieve this.

However, with that being said, it sure does seem like this tool is achieving exactly what I was looking to do! Thank you for linking this!

And thank you for linking the other thread too!
