Default Sims 2 on new laptop - constantly flashing
Just before lockdown I took my new(ish) laptop to a computer place to see if they could get Sims 2 running on it. I didn't hold out much hope as I'd previously had 2 computer dudes try to figure it out and they didn't get anywhere. Amazingly though this place did, and I was delighted, but when I tried to run the game back at home I found the scene flickers constantly, so although technically I can play it the flashing is just too distracting. I've recently tried to get in touch with the people again to see if they can figure it out but I've had no response, so I'm afraid I'm on my own! Has anyone experienced this, and found a solution? My new laptop is windows 10, but then so is my old one, on which Sims would run without the flashing... I noticed the graphics were a lot brighter/bolder playing Sims on the new one (too much so, I hope I can calm them down somehow!) and wondered if it was related. Anyway, any thoughts?

Flashing pink/purple?
4GB patch from here (link in post, video shows how to apply) - https://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=610641
and GraphicRules fix from here: https://www.simsnetwork.com/tools/graphics-rules-maker

Flashing/flickering in some other way? Only bright in CAS?

Can you post pictures? Computer specs?

It does sound like you may have the same set of problems like this user: https://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=647864 so if you have any similar things going on like the same graphic card or anything like that, could be the solution is the same, too - if we can figure it out, that is.
