The ' Sim ' version is the one with the keyboard at the bottom so the sims actually type on a keyboard . The other version is how it looks in real life with the keyboard at the top but your sims will type on the plastic bit and touchpad instead . Although the other version is the authentic copy of the MacBook , the ' Sim ' version looks better in the game in my opinion because they actually type on the keyboard and it looks daft if they're typing underneath the keyboard . You could get away with wonky animations like that in Sims 1 because of the camera distance , but in Sims 2 it didn't look impressive and now in Sims 3 with it's high attention to detail it just looks plain daft . So my choice is the ' Sim ' version . It's very generous of the creator to offer the choice of both versions though

Indeed. Have the same issue and i use the sim keyboard version. Installed it yesterday, then bought it for my sim. My sim started to use it, but was tapping on a closed laptop all the time and the hands were floating through it. It looked quite ridiculous.
Too bad. Was hoping for a working version.

I have now updated the laptop to make it work with Pets and/or 1.26+. Please download v1.11 - it will say on the file.
I have tested them on the latest patch (1.29). If you have a patch in between and it doesn't work I suggest updating your game to 1.29.

I think this needs to get upgraded because i can use it just like a normal laptop in the game but the laptop stays closed
