Default Sims 2 with M1 Macbook Pro/Parallels/Windows 11 issues - can anyone help?
I have a 2021 16" Macbook Pro (M1 silicon chip). I have installed Sims 2 via virtual Windows 11 through Parallels 17. The game will load (although only in windowed mode at this stage), but I have no enhanced graphics options, pink soup and lagging. I've tried the 4GB patch and Graphics Rules Maker but neither make a difference to these issues.

Has anyone been successful in making the game playable with a similar setup? I would prefer to run the game through a Windows setup because of the limited packs available on the Mac version and because 3rd party programs like SimPE are for Windows.

Did you use the graphics rules maker application? Because with your setup, you have to manually edit the Graphic Rules.sgr file. The app that does it for you won't work properly for Parallels. I don't personally use Parallels as I have an Intel-based mac and play on a dedicated Windows partition via Bootcamp. I did some google detective work and found these guides that may help you out:
