Default Resource cfg opened with winrar = corrupted
hi fellow simmers...hope you are all safe. just wanna share this, hoping some of you may have a solution u can share me

I can use sims3pack files by putting them in downloads folder etc. but not package files because of this.

I really messed up when I downloaded a resource cfg file and opened it with the app winrar. Now when i click on it, it says "archive is in unknown format or damaged". And it doesnt matter where i get the resource cfg file, it will always have WinRAR icon and say damaged.

I tried doing the 7zip thing but it doesnt help either.

i tried everything but nothing works and at this point i am desperate for answers

Disassociating a file type from a specific program is a bit annoying to do in Windows, but certainly not very hard: https://www.raymond.cc/blog/how-una...ta-7-file-type/

I would assume you associated it to WinRAR by accident? CFG files can be read and edited by any old text editor, be it Notepad or WordPad or Notepad++ or whatever you may prefer.

More to the point, it doesn't matter what the file association is. Only Windows cares about that, the game will read the file the same regardless. Resource.cfg does not need to be opened at all unless one is trying to text edit it for some reason, it needs to be placed into a Mods framework in the correct place, with Mods\Packages and Mods\Overrides subfolders on the same level.
