This user has the following games installed:

Sims 2, University, Nightlife, Open for Business, Pets, Seasons, Bon Voyage, Free Time, Apartment Life
Default Is it possible to dive then swim in ponds and lakes?
I always wanted to swim in ponds and lakes, let me know if there's a way to make that possible.

Yes. It's hard to make a lot that works.
You have to be careful that the sims doesn't start 'swimming' all over the lot.
Mike Inside Sims 2 had a tutorial.
If I can find it.
Sometimes I just download a lot that has a swimmable pond/lake and expand the lake.

You make the lake and then sink a one story pillar below the surface.
Not too deep.
Then go up a level (under the water) and place an invisible floor on top of the pillars. Then delete the pillars if you want.

Then Make a deck at the side of the lake and put your pool diving board on the edge of the deck over the water.
Practice with your sim and see if they will dive into the lake.
The edge of the diving board must be over the false floor on top of the pillars under the water.
