Actually, you don't even need to do any of the stuff mentioned. You can edit your upload to replace the files and screenshots after you make your changes. Little tip: don't remove the existing rar/zip, just add it like you would when uploading. The rar/zip will replace the existing one (keep the name the same!), that way you won't lose your download count. If that doesn't bother you, keep in mind that doing it that way will add the little icon to show that the files have been updated.. which I think is kind of nifty.
The upload COULD be tagged but since there isn't anything game-breaking wrong with them the above is a pretty good option.
(And you can add "Updated" to the title so people will know you updated the files without having to look at the download tab.)
