In reading through the posts it seems my ram should read more than 2 if i am fully up dated. I looked at the at LAA link. It too says i should not have this issue if fully patched.

I did have crashes about 3 weeks ago that seemed to stem from not being fulling updated on the World of Adventures patch... used the patcher all fine until now... And it might matter that i have 16 GB of RAM installed on a 32 bit system os. (Well what can I say i didn't know it could only read 4 GIG, oopps) so i don't know why it is saying 3.25 RAM instead of 4 or 16. any help would be appreciated.

The problem is you have a 32-bit operating system. It isn't easy to change on Windows XP and is somewhat risky but the instructions are on this page:
http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title....2C_Server_2003

You'll want to use just the /3GB switch.

You don't see the full 4 GiB because of installed hardware (like the video card, for example), allocating memory for itself before Windows can see it. It simply isn't accessible to the operating system without upgrading to a 64-bit OS.

If you uprade to a 64-bit operating system, it would be able to see all 16 GiB of RAM and The Sims 3 (so long as it is patched to 1.17 or newer) will automatically allocate the maximum it can (4 GiB).

Thank you for the quick replay.... husband updated my gaming computer's os today... YEAH! So now have a 64 bit os... and have reloaded the game... can't wait to see what difference it makes.... now off to down load the patcher again as of course on reloading SIMS 3 the launcher would not fully patch on its own ... THANK YOU! for both these great tools!

It was working fine for 2 days, then suddenly after saving the game, I clicked on the Buy Mode and it crashed out. After that whenever I try loading that family it would crash but not the other family. D:

Did you recently install Pets? Pets doesn't like low end graphics adapters at all (including Intel HD).

Otherwise, I'd say you got an incompatible custom content installed.

Default Sims3 not working -> Crashlog
Hello FordGT90Concept!

I'm havin problems with my Sims3 ... I'm havin the Sims3 Basic original, but I downloaded the Addons. I installed Sims3, all the Addons (not the mini-addons only the 'big ones'). I patched it every fu**n way but it's still not working. I made a new Sims3 folder in Documents/EA, this isn't working too. I tried to use the Addons + basic severel, but this wasn't working too. I even tried it without any patch, with some patches, and with all patches ... it makes me insane that I can't make it work.. atm my sims3launcher gave up working -.- Here's my crashlog ... I see some custom content is installed, but where? tried to delete it but I can't find the right folder, maybe you can tell me ...

@kinvangden: Pets is definitely your problem then. I would recommend either uninstalling it or turning all your graphics settings down. If this is a desktop computer, you could considering buy a graphics card.

@sykx: Nothing stands out as obviously wrong. Have you had any problems with the computer otherwise such as random restarts, other games crashing, etc.? Has it crashed many times? Is there anything in particular that happens before it crashes?

Not many people have the game installed to a drive other than C:. I doubt that's the problem but ya never know.

Thanks for your fast answer. No, I'm not having any problem. Every other game is working pretty good. All games are installed on other drives, I'm not installing anything on C:. It startet crashing when I installed the downloaded addons. The Sims3 Basic (original buyed) worked very well...

Yes, I did. But it works now. Someone from a german forum send me the original .exe and a miniimage, I mountet the miniimage, copied the original files in the sims3basic folder and it worked. God knows why, I don't ... If you want to have those files and the miniimage, tell me I'll send it to you, it will help some others maybe...

Hey, so I came through here a few months ago regarding Corrupt Save Crashes and possible solutions to it, but they turned out not to be solutions to that. I'm back after about a week of playing without crashes! As many people have stated, horses have been a cause of some crashes. I am not excluded from that group. However, after using Twallan's Register to reduce the horses in the neighborhood to zero and then, after a day or so, raise the number back up, I am happy to report I have experienced no crashing whatsoever. I even removed Register after raising the number of horses and still no crashing. My guess is that it must do some kind of refresh of the horse data mixed in with the neighborhood data or something to that effect. Hope this can help some people!!

I have several crashes, and CLA refer it as CC problem. The thing is, I always check before install them, so I know there are no corrupt CC in my Mods folder. Delphy' Dashboard also doesn't indicate any bad/conflicted CC.

BSOD = hardware issue

There should be a filename mentioned when the BSOD occurs. Also a BSOD type that triggered the stop. Those are your best hints as to what is causing the crash.

It crashes when loading "welcome to [town name]" everytime.

I have all EPs and all stuffs, including Master Suite stuff, which is what started the crashing. It crashes with and without CC and both of the logs are listed as unknown.

Considering where it crashed, I suspect the world save might be corrupt. Try creating a new neighborhood.

The last resort is to go to Documents\Electronic Arts and rename "The Sims 3" folder to something else like "The Sims 3 Backup." It will force it to rebuild The Sims 3 directory. If it still does it after that, I'm thinking that 8500 GT might to blame. It is a very weak card.

I see two potential problems:

1) Custom content. Considering all your crashes are the same (0x3fc) one bad/incompatible custom content could be causing the same crash to occur over and over.

2) Intel GMA HD and other integrated graphics are known to not work well with pets. Some members have been able to isolate the problem to horses. You could try playing in a horse-free neighborhood, turning the graphics settings down, or upgrading your graphics.
