Likely caused by custom content.

The þatch Downloader can get the game fully updated.

Try moving/renaming Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 so it rebuilds the directory. If it doesn't fix it, put it back.

It doesn't look like you have much/any custom content but if you do, you could try running the game without it.

there are much custom objects but only installed via the launcher .. no mods or packages

if i start the launcher from game/bin and the game from the launcher the launcher remains in the taskbar and after reopening it's freezed ... i have installed all extension packs and some accessories ... but not in the sequence of its release .. does this matter?

i'll reinstall another laptop with Win XP .. what can i do to install all these games correctly to avoid such crashes?

thank you so much for your advices and patience

Order shouldn't matter but if you really want to install them in order, it appears frequently on this article: Sims 3:Versionswiki

I think I would install The Sims 3, followed by patch 1.33. Then I would install the expansions in the order in the article (top to bottom).

Mods installed via the launcher shouldn't cause the launcher to lock up.

Do you have .NET Framework installed? I know the launcher requires it.

There's a post here about that specific error: http://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=410739

Others have echoed that it is a registry problem.

Strange, CLA uses the same code so it should have pointed out registry corruption too. If I get time, I'll look into making CLA point that out. It would have saved you a lot of time.

Edit: Uploaded 2.5.7 which should theoretically catch that but I couldn't really test it without knowing what was exactly wrong with the registry.

Hmm, other people have had MSVCR80.dll crashes and it's really a shot in the dark as to what causes it. If you haven't done so already, you could try updating you graphics driver. You could also try creating a new neighborhood--the one you're playing on may be corrupt.

Is The Sims 3 the only program having problems?

The game crashes at loading screen and I have no problems with any other programs. Now, I updated my graphics driver but I still can't play the game.

Edit: Before I've installed expansion packs, I could play the base game.

Try renaming Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 to something else forcing The Sims 3 to rebuild that directory when the game is ran again. Hopefully it will work.

This should set you on the correct path:
http://simswiki.info/wiki.php?title...lp:Game_Problem

My guess is one of the packages is bad and it's causing the game to go into an infinite loop.
