Did this crash happen after removing custom content or before? Is The Sims 3 the only game on the computer that has problems?

No it started way before that's why I removed the CC, and no I don't have any other games on my computer. I'm currently in the process of uninstalling and reinstalling my games.

Is this a new world/neighborhood/save or an old one? There may be corruption/damage to the save causing the crash.

I asked about other games because it could be caused by hardware instability. Instability would be seen in other games/software though and would not be isolated to just The Sims.

Well it has been crashing while loading the town, I only use updated mods and take out the others until they are updated because last time it did this it was because a mod needed to be updated. It is an old save that I had been playing for a while, but I do occasionally rename my saves with "save as" upon exiting the game.

I'd recommend trying a new neighborhood then. If the new neighborhood works without problems, you'll have to go through your saves and find one that is still working.

1.34 came out not too long ago and it could have easily broke something.

Okay, Thanks! I will try that.
Turns out it was my saved game. I took out my only saved game and it loaded and played perfectly.

igdumd32.dll is Intel's graphics driver. Maybe the IGPU is overheating.

I brought a cooler, it steadied the game in CAS but in live mode it just crashes instantly.

I might have to try another.

You could try turning the computer off, using a vacuum to suck out all the vents/ports on the computer, then reversing the airflow on the vacuum and blowing into the main cooling vent.

If that doesn't help, I'm afraid the integrated graphics you are using isn't enough for the game. You could try turning all the graphics settings down but it might not help.

Thankyou for the help! My graphics should be good enough, i brought this as a gaming computer and its always been fine but overheating is always a issue i have so i imagine your tips would help. Thanks!

No Intel GPU is intended for 3D gaming. They're meant for 2D work and video playback. It would need an NVIDIA or AMD GPU (and not bottom of the line either) in it to be suitable for gaming.

The game pauses frequently on my HD 5870 (high-end graphics card) with modest graphic settings.

This is super annoying. My game crashes after less than a few sim hours of gameplay. At first, I thought it was crashing trying to load map view. Now it just crashes while I'm watching a sim sleep. Crash log says I have updates for the game, but none are available. I have even run without custom content and started a new neighborhood. Would clearing the cache files help any?

TS3PD can take care of the missing patches.

I would recommend trying graphic settings down. All, if you want. That might allow it to run longer.

The problem is, I'm running Win 7 64 with 12 GB memory. My save game file (folder) is only about 90 MB. I've run, albeit with increasingly annoying lag, save games of up to 300 MB in the past without problems (that's real file size, I've always had memories disabled after seeing the bloat it caused). I'm open to suggestions. BTW, I run from a shortcut to TS3W, never the launcher. I peeked, and yes, LAA is enabled.

My guess is that one of your custom content has a memory leak.

Well, then I'm screwed. I tend to accumulate things. Time to swap content in and out then. That will keep be busy until SN is actually released. Thanks for the quick response. And thank you for all your tools, they really come in handy when dealing with this game.

Have you tried making a new neighborhood? Do other games crash on the computer or just The Sims 3?

I suspect your first computer could be running out of RAM and being forced to close by Windows. The second isn't so obvious.

As far as i know it is just "The Sims 3", but i do not know. the first computer has 3gb of ram. Would increasing Windows Virtual Memory help?

I use to get custom content crashes on the second computer but after removing all of my mods and leaving the store content in that is when the error changed to what i posted.

If custom content corrupted a save, removing the custom content won't fix the damaged save.

If you want to increase virtual memory, see this: Game Help:Insufficient Memory Crasheswiki

I already Start a new game folder in "My Documents" and then install my store content. then i got that error. i will keep playing and see if the error returns.

As for the first computer I will increase virtual memory and see.
Thanks

I think on that Opteron system, I would run stress testing software like Intel Burn Test to make sure the hardware is fine.

Increase virtual memory seems to have fixed the first computer. Funny thing is windows virtual memory was set to 4Gb and "The Sims 3" only seen 2Gb so I lowered it to 3Gb.

As for the second computer i have been busy and have not had time to play.
