I'm not sure I agree with that statement. In fact I'm pretty sure the terrain will be your biggest problem. I mean when you step on the break but the car dosn't stop untill after contact with a tree, lightpole and what not you were indeed having a terrain problem. sure you might have had bad breaks too.

Still any landing you can walk away from is a good

That's a good idea. I started trying to do something similar - one of those motorway service stations that have a bit both sides of the road with a bridge going over so you can get to the restaurant. It wasn't doing too badly but it was a big project and I ran out of patience

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread *and* for the off-topic, but is it possible to make a bridge go over the road in TS2 (+all EPs)? I would like to make a boardwalk, up on pilings, that runs across several lots, but can't seem to get rid of the space inbetween the lots. The locktiles cheat will let me put tiles on the floor up to the edges (or across the road or whatever) but not on the 2nd floor. Is there any way to do this?

TIA

I managed to do this by building walls across the road to support the floor/s above and then deleting the supporting walls when I had finished. I made quite a passable over-motorway eatery in a service station like this. You'll need a very flat area of neighbourhood for this, or it will all be different heights in neighbourhood view

oooh, thank you, thank you! I couldn't get the floor to go on top of the pilings, but I didn't think of trying building walls. Now I can't wait to get home and try it out

1. @ Build mode:
For lots on the same side of the road, yes, the ground doesn't allow tiling or building normally, probably it's off for the neighbourhood placement. You can build a wall 2 blocks from the edges and tile them to the edges. If the first level doesn't work, and then the second level may work. Can't remember on which floor this started to work, sorry. (UPDATE-->)And if all fail, try the carpet approach, squary carpets that can cover the wall-window-based walls.(<--UPDATE) ;):

Update2, custom fences may do the job, too. But, unsure if the neighbourhood view is good.

2. @ Neighbourhood mode
2a. you can create new blocks right by one another. This may work well.
2b. For those obsessed with a much greater control like me, you can read this tutoial,

flatten the area you're gonna build your serial lots before placing them.

Good lucks...

Oh thanks, I see why I couldn't make it work now. I want to build side-by-side, not across roads (I want a boardwalk down a stretch of beach) and also, I want to connect the first floor and you have to go up to the second to make it work too bad. Anyone have any other ideas (other than that bit about somehow copying lot files and putting them on lots too small for them that I think is too tech-y for me).
