Default What computer I need to play Sims 2 perfectly?
What computers are required for Sims 2 to work without problems? Do I need an old 2004 computer or a new one? I can play Sims 2 on my computer just "fine", but I can't get the 'smooth edges' and 'shadow' features enabled no matter what I do. They are ALWAYS greyed out. I tried everything, I even changed all of the enumerateMultisampleLevels false to enumerateMultisampleLevels true on Graphics Rules. Nothing worked. I think my graphics card is bad. My game looks like 1996 playstation one graphics. The characters are so jagged and pixelated. When I see YouTube videos of Sims 2, their sims look so smooth.

What are your computer specs?

Editing the GraphicRules should turn on smooth edges if your computer can handle it. There are several things you need to edit, not just settings for smooth edges. If you have a newer graphic card that the game doesn't recognize, the game most likely uses the lowest settings from the GraphicRules (there's 5 levels), and this needs to be changed so higher settings will be used.

If you're having issues, have you tried the GraphicRulesMaker? It does a lot of the edits for you.

If you have a Nvidia card, you could try smooth edges via the Nvidia settings: https://dramallamadingdang.tumblr.c...y-mind-is-blown
