Really. I thought i heard from someone that they would only be available for one world. Well your probably right.

Fridges are easily disguised a pantry cupboards by apply a wooden finish. What is really missing in the kitchen is a good medieval stove that works alot of the ones you see are deco only.

Munchies, let us know how it works! Be sure not to make your no road world too large or at least concentrate any rabbitholes near residential lots. I tried one medieval world in testing and found it was too congested and it took too long for the sims to get anywhere.

Of all the medieval contests and group projects, it's hard to believe no one created a working stove. =) Hopefully that will happen soon!

No friggin' way!! If this works, then the biggest issue has been solved!
Hallelujah!
Now for mobile phones!

oK
Here's a brief guide on how to do this then, if you can ignore mobile phone use for now

Essentials
>Install awesomemod, nraas overwatch, nraas register, nraas traffic, shimrods no cars
>Install a mod that disables paperboys, perhaps this one
http://www.the-isz.com/theisz/index...ed-june-2-2011/
>*NEW*Install a mod that disables work uniforms
http://www.modthesims.info/d/446263
>Install a mod that makes plates rustic/olden
http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=426538
>Install a mod that gets rid of the square effect when washing dishes
http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=446536
effect washdisheswaterinter
>*NEW* Install a mod that disables repo man [link needed]
>Install medieval careers (edit: this is outdated and doesn't work)
http://simverses.net/blog/archive/2...nt-careers.aspx
>Run game, disable immigration, and aging, preferably
>Make nraas overwatch auto-run the cheats 'destroyallnpcs' and 'destroyalltownies' upon boot of neighbourhood to (hopefully!) make no modern sims pop up
(alternatively I think master controller can edit npc look, but I'm not sure how)
>Make nraas traffic use a traffic ratio of -10
>If you spot a sim in modern clothing, select them, and use the dresser cheat, until all residents are dressed accordingly

Non-essentials
>*NEW* Install replacement music objects
http://www.aroundthesims3.com/objec...wntown_10.shtml
http://www.modthesims.info/d/399928
>*NEW* Find and install olden cash registers [more links neded]
general store
http://www.aroundthesims3.com/objec...wntown_10.shtml
food store
http://www.aroundthesims3.com/objec...wn_05.shtml#new

This should in theory make your hood 95% medieval, apart from autonomous mobile phone use.
You can try making each sim a technophobe, but it won't stop them. I've tried.

Mods still needed:
>Disable autonomous phone use

I know that you can change the skin of the cell phones, but I am not sure what you can change it to that will act more medieval-like.
If it this was a world for the 1920's, someone could easily turn the cellphone into a hearing aid. With this being a medieval town though, I can't really think of something except maybe a cell phone made out of wood.

There is a medieval town up for pre-beta testing here: http://www.modthesims.info/showthre...5#startcomments

Has anyone actually tried out the No Cars mod? Does that keep people from getting to work? The last time I tried messing with car usage by disabling the carpool, people refused to go to work because they kept waiting for a carpool that was never going to arrive. Same with the school bus. This mod won't help me much if the rest of my town is stuck at home because they're too stupid to walk.

All is going well so far with my experiments, apart from the problems mentioned previously.
I've completely revamped buy mode to display appropriate items first in the catalogue, so now I can concentrate on decorating houses.
Has anyone seen any decent medieval larders or cash registers though?
I'm using the one here
http://www.thesimsresource.com/down...try/id/1038769/
but to be honest it's just a modern fridge with shelves on the side.

No I'm using an unfinished Chevreux.
It's the best one I can find. All the others appear to be either too modern, or not large enough.

It is a lot of work. I have looked at them and even planned out careers but the amount of script change makes it very difficult. Check out Twallan's career mod because anything you do should go along with that. I simply don't have the time to learn something new at the moment so will wait on this for a while.

I played with the unfinished Chevreux for a while as well but found the castle gates to have a lot of routing issues. Your sims tend to get stuck a lot. Maybe it is fixed now but otherwise there are problems. Also, his houses are very nice but many are built using floor elevation cheats and for two story houses, which makes no sense to me. It makes it really difficult to modify them. I took an empty Riverview and built a castle on the island, got rid of some of the river, textured the world a bit better, and it looks pretty good. That is as far as I have gotten though unfortunately and am now trying to finish Mimosa and play a bit before I do anymore on my medieval world.

Around The Sims has a cash box that would probably work well. As for a fridge, it seems I found one but am not sure where. Check the Chevreux posts on the Creator Forums. There are lots of links there to medieval items. I will post some pictures of my build stuff eventually and would be happy to share but just don't have the time right now...sorry! Of course, you could probably build better stuff than me!

Yes, I've tried out the mod, quite a bit actually. Sims still go to work, go to school, go to the venues, etc. They walk or run to the places.

MedievalMods and Sims3mods: Dive Cave Reset Fix, Resort Revamp, Industrial Oven Revamp, Will O' Wisp fix, UI Sounds Disabled, No Cars, Gnome Family Planner, Townies Out on the Town, No Martial Arts Clothes, Fast Skilling, etc. http://simsasylum.com/tfm/

O.K., I made a tiny world for my primitive Sims with no road or sidewalk. All the homes also don't have any fridge (I want the Sims to harvest and eat only that or grill fish at the fire pit) so maybe that's why when I tried "Rapid Immigration" using Twallan's mod, it said that my town appears full. Anyway, I found that there are no problems with the Sims walking around unless you had something blocking your lot like create a world decorations. I moved in a couple to another house as neighbors and they, too, had no problems walking around. The paperboy and the mailman still visits in their modern clothes. For some reason, NPCs such as the fireman, repo-man, thief, pizza delivery person, etc. would spawn in a community lot (i.e., miraculously appear out of no where). I even had a handywoman appear, die, then the grim reaper appeared (see photo). Also, check out my makeshift tree house! ... O.K., so it sucks. But it works!

P.S. Forgot to add. I looked into Twallan's dresser and it required knowing how to tune it, and I don't. The custom launcher looks interesting and I may check it out if it's not too complicated. For now, though, it's been rather convenient just moving my Sims in then dressing them appropriately, one by one since they can't seem to immigrate without a fridge. If when I play another theme that has a fridge of some sort, I may look into it. Thanks for all you peeps suggestions! :D
