By far the most anticipated world for me...will a horse ranch/equestrian center be added?

Thank you so much for your comments

Ariyem, if I have enough space I could make the delta of the river Llobregat, which is on the southern-left side of Barcelona and put there all the horse facilities. I could put the airport there too and some fishing spots. Here's a picture of the area I'm talking about:

However this is right now my last priority, first I have to see if I can finish the city without a huge number of lots, and then I could consider it

Looks really good. One question though, how much of the city are you going to built?

I think you could create the right illusion of a larger city by using a custom distant terrain.

I'm not gonna build all the parts of the city, just the most important and characteristic. And I'll reduce these parts a lot to accomodate them in the Sims
Here's a quick drawing about my plans for the city. I've noticed that if I want to add a rural area it would have to be located on the right side of the city, that's not like in real life but I won't have space on the left side:

Maps:

Finally, about the custom DT, it's a great idea but it would be very difficult to accomodate and create as I don't have any experience at modding. I prefer to use one from CAW and making the city not that large

I just wanted to let you know what are my plans, do you think it would be too big?
Btw, I have finished the Ciutadella Park area and now I'll start building the Old City, hopefully I'll show you an update this weekend!

I love watching your worlds develop, literally have so much of my respect man. To respond to your question, the world looks like it'll be pretty big so I think as long as you keep to your style of empty shell buildings, it should be pretty good performance wise if that's your concern. Personally I would rather it be big to have that city atmosphere but it's your world so as long as you can cope with the size, just keep on trucking ^^
If I could make one small suggestion, could you please include the Barcelona Pavilion if you haven't thought of it yet? It's just such a great building, it would be a real shame to neglect it in the final product.

Thanks Encloped
I can also use deco buildings to get a big city feeling without lag (hopefully), TjStreak has some decos at his blog that would look fine.
I must confess that I had to google the Barcelova pavillon because I didn't know what it was Looks easy to build, I'll include it!

I get more and more excited every-time I see a new update of this world....I'm writing a legacy and want to use Barcelona as the setting so I'm chomping at the bit for this, already planning ideas in my head ..... would you consider allowing some of us to submit sims to be added to the world? Or will this be unpopulated? I can make a Spanish name list if you like, though I'm sure that's way down the road and not needed as of yet.

Thank you
Ariyem, I would definitelly love that some of you create sims for this world, to me this is the most tedious part of creating a world so it would be very helpful! But this is still very far as you say, so right now i'm focused on building. But don't worry, I'll inform you once it's the time

So here's a new update. I've been working on the Gothic district, in the Old Town. Here are some pictures:

Barcelona is a beautiful city. I certainly hope you are going to include some of the buildings by Antonin Gaudi, especially the Sagrada Familia. The one in flight simulator is rather sucky, so you might end up trying to do a conversion of a Sketchup or other model.

Thanks!
There will be some buildings by Gaudí such as La Pedrera, Casa Batlló, Parc Güell and of course Sagrada Familia. Luna made an object with the 4 towers of its facade (there's a picture in the 1st post), and I'll complete Sagrada Familia with the game building tools and a lot of use of CFE, so it will be functional

Looking great! The cobblestone terrain paint- is there one that doesn't look as blurry and over scaled? Perhaps you could scale the one you have down by half?

Another small concern I have is of community lot population- how many community lots are you aiming to have? I have a handful in Riverview, and they're pain to fill on their own! I would not aim to have every single variety of lot variety (especially the Late Night bars and lounges) in the world.

Can't wait to see more!

Thanks for the tips!
I've scalled down the cobblestone paint:

Regarding the lots, I plan to have around 70 community lots. These are the lots I don't think I'll include:

- Nectary (Finally decided to include it)
- Academy
- Chinese Garden
- Small Market
- Landmark Tomb
- Junkyard No Visits
- Watering Hole
- Vampire Bar
- Private Show Venue
- Some lots from University Life
- And I was thinking about not including the horse facilities, it would look a bit out of place.

I must say though that some of the community lots will be repeated, but not excessively

I would think, with the wine culture and traditions of Spain, that a Nectary or two would fit in perfectly. I've been to Spain many times, on wine tours, and this would, I feel, be an odd omission... at least that's my take on it Also, this looks absolutely brilliant so far! Great job as always!

I agree with baskerwil..if you won't make a nectary at least put in a lot for those who want to build one to be able to....a Mediterranean world without a nectary sounds a bit weird.

Yes you are right, but this is not a rural and traditional Mediterranean world like my previous world Empordà, this is going to be a big city. The area around Barcelona is more industrial than rural, and vineyards aren't cultivated there. There's an important wine region called Penedès near, but it's 40 km from BCN city But if you really want it I'll include a Nectary, however it will be one of my last priorities.

Hope it makes more sense now

It makes perfect sense. I never meant to create a vineyard, but more of a wine shop, sort of like the Italian enotecas, to purchase wine from

Yes..a traditional vinyard might not fit well..but a wine shop wouldn't hurt.

That sounds great, I think a modern nectary with the style of the Nespresso shops but in wine version would fit very well. Thanks for the ideas!

This is totally and utterly awesome! You've clearly put a ton of thought and effort into it so far and it really shows. It looks beautiful, and very accurate compared to the real Barcelona. I visited there with my parents when I was 10 years old and I loved it so much I cried in the taxi on the way to the airport because I didn't want to leave! I'd love it if my selfsim can live in TS3's Barcelona one day..... :-)
