60m/s = 216km/h
100m/s = 360km/h

For the Americans:

30m/s = 108km/h = 68MPH
60m/s = 216km/h = 135MPH
100m/s = 360km/h = 224MPH

*statistics rounded up to nearest whole number

My firehouse is 7 blocks from here, that would be like (they're here before alarm starts blaring!) Cool!!!

Now if you can add a flavor to keep them from coming, you know (for those who want to cause mayhem!)

The default of 18 m/s is 65 km/h, which is well over the speed limit in most jurisdictions already and more or less what you'd expect from a Code 3 fire response. However, that doesn't cover the fact that the game's time scale is multiplied, so that while they are driving at "unsafe" speeds on a 1:1 time scale, it still takes them a goodly 20~30+ minutes to arrive to an actual scene, which in reality is of course silly. Since passenger cars also go ridiculously fast, without a balancing mod anyway, that's another nail in the coffin.

I figure the 30 m/s option is the best compromise between realism and gameplay -- the others are definitely just cheats. ;-)

Gah thank you for this! I have a firefighter simbot in Bridgeport and sometimes it takes him so long just to drive to the stupid emergency location, he's already down to a B or C before he even starts working. It drives me crazy!

Thank you for this mod. I always hated how slow the firefighter's arrived at my sims house when it was on fire. Thanks

Thank you so much! :3

I don't remember any fire my sims couldn't extinguish themselves in the time it took the fire truck to arrive. Silly firefighters, I bet they keep stopping for icecream...

Now if only if there were one of these for the police. They get to my sims' houses while the robber is leaving, then I get the "We'll get them next time!" message as the robber jogs past them. XD

I was always annoyed at how long firemen took to get on the scene. I even called them using the cell phone a few times when I didn't have a fire alarm, and then I got in trouble for calling a 'prank' since I'd had to have my sims take matters into their own hands or die. Lol thanks for this.

In the days of old (Sims I and II), firemen where all ZOOOOM SPRAY ZOOM! I once accidently ordered a meteorite to crash on my Sim's lawn. The fires, and there were about six or seven of them, were gone by the time the fire truck even arrived.
