To keep my old neighborhoods, here are the steps I took:
1. Dragged the "Documents/EA Games" folder to my desktop before installing UC
2. After the Ultimate Collection finished installing, I ran the game once and let it create it's own new "EA Games" folder in my Documents. (I'm not sure if this step is really necessary, but it's what I did.)
3. Once the game finished loading, I exited. Then I deleted the contents of the "Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection" that were just created.
4. I dragged in my old user files that I put on my desktop into the currently empty "The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection" folder. (The one in my Documents)
5. I took out the "Neighborhood" folder and put it on my desktop, and also deleted the entire "Config" folder so the game would regenerate it.
6. I let the game load again, then exited. It made a new "Config" and "Neighborhood" folder. I deleted the new "Neighborhood" folder and replaced it with my old one that I put on my desktop. Then it worked!

Yeah, I suck at tutorials, but hopefully someone will find this helpful.

Was there an InSim for AL? I can't remember anymore. If not, can someone find a link to the hacked baby (at least I think it was a baby...) that had similar functions? I don't know how I'll live without MC's grandpa.

EDIT: Also, under which pack would reorganizers go?

Yes InSim will work and "The Sim Manipulator" and "The Sim Blender" works and all 3 can be in at the same time.

**UNSUPPORTED** InSimenator Mod (Updated to include German version: 4/26/09) http://www.insimenator.org/index.ph...c,100226.0.html
The Sim Manipulator is supported http://simmanipulator.forumotion.co...sim-manipulator
The Sim Blender which is also supported http://www.simbology.com/smf/index.php?topic=20.0

If the reorganizer needs to go in the last pack then it will be under the Fun with Pets SP9, but I don't know what the reorganizer is so I could be wrong.

ADD: Warning if you had the store edition any and all hoods will not work Warning.

I have a store edition in my Origin account but I will not add it to my game for I don't want it.

So, I had the Store edition. Is there no way to get my old hoods to work with UC?

You may still have the store edition in Origin if not do you have the disk for Fun with Pets and you can install it from there.

If neither of those then contact EA support again and they should let you download it.

Yeah, I still have it in Origin. But since switching to the Ultimate Collection, I can't use it.

Bodyshop is in UC go to the programs folder and look in Fun with Pets then SP9 and it is in one of the folders there.

Right click on it and send to desktop (Create Shortcut).

Here is the full path.

These question has maybe been answered on the original thread, but I find 30 pages of posts in 3 days a bit daunting!

Am I even eligible for this Ultimate Collection? What I read on the official site said it was free to all players with digital copies of The Sims 2. By "digital" I take it they mean downloaded online, and the only Sims 2 product I've got is Double Deluxe, bought retail and shrink-wrapped. I would take that as meaning that I'm not eligible, but I get the impression that other people are getting this Ultimate Collection, even though all there games are on disk (not downloaded).

I wasn't able to register my game when I bought it because EA had stopped the registration process for TS2. I tried both online and by telephone, but, though he tried the techie couldn't register me. That was in December 2012, and the official site (and the Exchange) completely closed a month later. I don't think EA even know that I exist. So, am I eligible? Has EA somehow re-opened Sims 2 registration?

Secondly, even if I am eligible, should I try to get the Ultimate Collection? As I understand it, when you download it, it automatically installs and overwrites your existing game. My existing game, with the OFB game engine runs well on my computer, but there's a very good chance that the AL game engine would fry my graphics chip. To say nothing of the load times and lag with all EPs and SPs. (I play on a netbook with 2GB RAM.) It would be nice if I could just download it and keep it for later, but I don't think that's possible. Should I just ignore this offer and go on looking for a 2nd-hand copy of OFB?

You don't have to install it but if I was you I would get it any way, just follow the first post http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=528726 and start up a support thread at EA and they will give it to you but make sure you ask for it before you let them go or you will need to do it again.

I was able to get the UC when I talked to a customer service rep who asked me for my double deluxe code (physical) and then gave me the UC. If you don't get one that will give it to you now, keep trying the webchat. As for if it will run, I'd say just get the game now and keep it in your Origin account. You don't have to download it and install right away, but just in case you want to use it when you have a beefier computer, you can let it sit. You can try seeing if it will run on your netbook (backing up your old installation of course!) and if it doesn't look like it, just restore your current setup. (Just don't play with it too long if it seems buggy).

I got one with just an EP for Nightlife. I have the four-CD version. Whether you want to download it is another question.

Huh, for me ONLY Bodyshop mods are working, and I cannot get any other custom content I downloaded to work.

Edit: When installing the CEP, put _EnableColorOptionsMMAT.package in C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSData\Res\3D

I'll make sure to post this in the comments of the CEP so more people know where to put it.

Do not forget that you will need CEP for 3rd party cc to work.

HCDU and the UC. Sims 2 Hack Conflict Detection Utility http://www.simwardrobe.com/

To get the HCDU to work with UC you will need to make a new folder in C:\Users\Main Game\Documents\EA Games\ called "The Sims 2" and place a copy of your downloads folder in there and you will be able to run it.

Now we need someone to up date the HCDU for the UC.

I loaded the game yesterday, it took about an hour. Then I spent about 4 hours just doing the tutorials and playing around before ending each one. I loved doing the building ones did an entire house in each of the 2 tutorials. Finally logged out and today I checked the folders and there is now a downloads folder but in the same folder with Ultimate Collections. Should I just move this folder inside the game one?

Has anyone replaced the hoods with clean hoods yet? Are takemetotheriver hoods still the best to use? thanks!
