@Piggypox all of the sims are removed, including the Goths, Calientes and the rest. So you can create your own families and move them there. You can also use the neighborhood to makeover the lots and move them to your current Pleasantview neighborhood.

I'm very interested and have just downloaded the updated templates . Is this compatible with UC though? If these work and there are no problems with me can I just go ahead and keep them or will I have to redownload when you upload?

I installed them but I'm afraid it didn't work . I still have the Ramaswarmi's and Cyd Roselsand in the family bin. And people are still in lots. Followed the instructions only I used Program Files(x86) > Origin Games> The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection, instead of the original. My Documents folder still has the original files. Is that the problem?

Did you remove Maxis templates first?
And you'll have to replace the files in the Neighborhoods folder (in the Documents/TS2 UC folder) as well.

You can do that by renaming your Neighborhoods folder to something other else (for instance Neighborhoods_Old) and let the game generate a new Neighborhoods folder. Then you shouldn't see any sims in all of the neighborhoods.

If you are using Windows 7 or 8 you must put Sims 2 folders in the Programs to both read and write or changes will not take.

Some players will need to turn off User Account Control and then restart computer and check that UAC is turned off and then set the programs folder for Sims 2 to read and write and you will also have to set your My Doc Sims 2 folder to read and write before changes will take place.

I used the MATY empty templates, but I'd like to use yours instead. Can I replace the neighborhood templates at this point without causing any problems? I don't use the Maxis neighborhoods, but I'd like to have them available to use the lots. I don't currently have the bin people or the townies or any of the NPC's except those I've made myself and don't want to have any show up.

I believe it shouldn't be a problem if you just replace the files, but I would still move the ones from MATY in another folder before doing that.

As for your current neighborhood, I believe you're safe, unless you placed any Maxis lots in your neighborhood. If you have done that... Then I'd recreate the neighborhood or play with backups. Someday, you won't be able to load that neighborhood anymore. Then you could restore from backup and play a little bit more.

If you're interested in recreating the neighborhood...
Then create a new neighborhood with my templates and use Mootilda's HoodReplace to copy the terrain, trees, streets, or other neighborhood decorations over to your new neighborhood. Then you'll have to use this tutorial to remove all of the sims.
http://modthesims.info/t/468987

Don't load your neighborhood until you removed all of the sim references inside the lots.

It's not that difficult. You have to open the lot.package in SimPE and remove these following things:
(If there are any of them)

-Sim Information
-Sim Relations (SREL)
- SimDNA
- Sim Wants and Fears (SWAF)
- SimScores
- FamilyTree

(basically everything with 'Sim')

After that, you'll have an entirely empty neighborhood with all of the lots.

You can use this tutorial to recreate your sims. http://modthesims.info/t/94489 if you want them back as well.

Thanks! I don't think I have any lots that were previously occupied by premades - if I do, I've torn them down to the ground and emptied them of everything including interior walls. I'll check them to be sure. They're not occupied now at any rate. I've used empty lots and some of the community lots - more of them than anything else. The link to removing the references and the sims is fantastic! It will be really helpful in cleaning up my own previously occupied lots, too.

I'll move the MATY templates to one side just in case. It wasn't difficult to find the base game templates at MATY (unlike the others you've done which were really hard to track down through MATY). In case I need to restore them, I have copies.

I've been on the phone most of the day with Microsoft cleaning up the computer itself since the game was crashing with nothing in it at all and I suspected Windows problems instead of game issues. I was right. I'll be able to tackle swapping out the Neighborhood templates with some assurance that I don't have to reinstall the whole thing. I'll let you know how it performs. Thanks again!

You can find it out by checking your neighborhood with Mootilda's HoodChecker. Then you'll find out if there are any sim references in lots or not. Just check your neighborhood and look if you have any user warnings (like sim has no character data or something similar like that)

I haven't had any user warnings about missing character data. Once in a while I'll get one of those 'met herself' or neither of those sims exists errors. Hood Checker removes them, and most of the time the report is clear.

I installed all your templates this morning, went into both residential and community lots in each neighborhood, bought and sold something on each lot, and had no problems. I don't see any issues in my custom neighborhoods. There are no sims in the bin so I don't expect to see any townies other than those I've created.

There are two apartment buildings in Belladonna with problems. The MATY templates had identical problems with the same lots. Both Tech Terrace and Cornerstone Condos seem to have families living in them although there's no name associated with them. If I try to move those apartments into the bin, the game will not let me do it since it sees those buildings as occupied. Those are the only two apartment buildings in Belladonna that behave like that.

Otherwise, everything works smoothly and looks fantastic!

I can move both of the apartment lots to the bin...

Are you sure that you're using my templates? Because I have no problems with those lots.

I downloaded and installed the template again. I am able to move Tech Terrace to the bin now but Cornerstone Condos still tells me that families are living there. I was careful about installing them the first time but accidents happen and somehow I must have missed this one. I'm sure I installed your template this time. I'm going to download it and try it again just to make double sure.

@eliset Maybe delete your cache files and see what happens.

ADD: I just went in a tested E001 again and all building can go into the bin with no problems in my game.

This time I replaced both E001 and E002 again and now I can move the lot. I'm assuming I missed your E001 the first time - there's no other reasonable explanation - and replacing it the second time but not replacing E002 the second time must have caused a problem. If I'd missed E002 the first time, wouldn't sims have appeared in the bin? Obviously I made some error since it wasn't working and now it is.

At any rate, it's working perfectly now. The time it takes to load the neighborhoods seems to be cut in half, too. It is significantly faster.

There may not be as many people who really want these empty templates (everybody seems to want to play only the premades), but they are wonderful WONDERFUL for custom neighborhoods. Yours are so much cleaner than the MATY templates, too. I can see the difference scrolling around the neighborhoods looking at the lots. Thank you. Thank you for taking the time and for the advice and assistance!

That's exactly what I want to do.
First, I'll upload these templates officially, then I will recreate all of the Maxis neighborhoods.

I know that Tarlia already cleaned the neighborhoods but she did delete some of the ancestors.
My templates will have the ancestors but no townies/NPCs (maybe a few which are a part of the story e.g. Kaylynn).

But I don't know if I'll copy the sims from the original templates or from marka's beginning hoods...

What a great idea! I recreated Pleasantview with a slightly different terrain and roads because I didn't like the real ones (I changed them in Simcity4), cloned most of the residents, and set them loose in the place. It was a really fun project - nobody liked anybody they were supposed to like for example - and seeing them react so differently gave the whole neighborhood/world a very different feeling. I'd love to see what you do.

It was actually marka93's idea to recreate the neighborhoods completely from scratch using empty templates. So all credit goes to him.

I actually wanted to the same as Tarlia did but some of the corruptions are not fixable (the victims of Olive Specter for instance). Tarlia gave her best to fix them but the dead sims are still corrupted if resurrected.
If I would recreate them all, there won't be any problems and they would be safe to resurrect but it will take some time to do it for every sim and every neighborhood.

Anyway, I should upload the empty templates now. I still haven't found a way to fix the UI issue in Felicity Island (CS neighborhood) but I believe these templates are ready to be uploaded officially.

ETA: I'll fix the genetics of the sims as well but...the sims look really different...
What do you think? Should I use the clones of the original Pleasantview or from marka93's version? I extracted marka's sims to body shop and tried to generate the children as accurate as possible. Well, I can't get it look like the originals though. But the genetics and the personalities are all correct and biologically linked to the parents now.

Should use these versions or the original versions? Agnes, Gunther, and the rest look different too but I was too lazy to take pictures of them all.

I think I still have all the deleted sims fixed and extracted from pleasantview if you would like them instead of having them made in CAS.

Pleasantview: http://www.mediafire.com/download/x...e_sim_files.rar
Strangetown: http://www.mediafire.com/download/a...estor's.rar
I am not sure if I did all of them or not in Strangetown.

I need to look around for Vernonaville i may not have kept them.

When I recreated a version of Pleasantview, I went for genetically/biologically correct children instead of using the arbitrary templates that came with the game. They didn't look the same, but they didn't act the same either since I didn't set up those scripts. I wanted them to look like they would if their parents were actually their parents, and I liked the results. More people seem to like the way they look even though the looks aren't biologically right, though.

ETA: Can I ask a question? Your instructions on cleaning up a lot start with opening the lot package in SimPE. How do I know which lot package to open?

I'm with you on this eliset as I would much rather have good, correct genetics even if that means they don't look like maxis made them. This is one of the reasons why I'm lookin forward to playin Marka's Beginning Hoods, so that the children will actually resemble their parents and not random sim plopped in to fill out the family.

There is one on the N99 forums who has been using my The Beginning of Pleasantview hood and so far all the born in-game sims look very close to what they do in the org. Pleasantview.
http://starlightsims.yuku.com/topic...gs-Generation-3
You may need to sign up but hey its a great site.

VaDixiegal is doing a great job at keeping to the story line for Pleasantview.

Other than skintone and hair/eye color being off some they look like the org. Pleasantview Sims with some minor differences.

@eliset you can use Mootilda's "Clean Installer" to scan the Lots folder inside your Neighborhoods folder. There you will see pictures of the lots. If you found your lot, you can go to "Name of Package" and there you'll see which number your lot has. Another alternative would be...enter your neighborhood and load that lot and save. Quit the game and sort the files inside the Lots by date. Then you can find it out which number your lot has.

@CaliBrat Okay but some of the sims have wrong skintones like Flamenco Caliente. I rolled the pacifier several times and it was always an alien with black eyes. But his children had the regular skintone (but the alien skintone as a recessive gene, meaning Morty and Dina's children can inherit the alien skintone. That reminds me of this video on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUEUF7dBa9I

@marka93 Interesting, I'll try to register there. Thank you for the extracted sims you've posted above.

ETA: I can't see that thread. Sorry. I guess, I've been disapproved anyway.
