Default Creating pools on multiple floor levels
I have posted a tutorial for making a pool on a floor level higher then the floor level of a house/community lot!

The tutorial has been posted on http://www.anywheresims.r8.org
If there are any questions or problems please ask here, PM me or email me~
Ohh and the pools are usable, but the Sims swim on the floor above the pool, so transparent floor tiles should be needed, unless you make no floor tiles above the pool!

Enjoy! :D
Screenshots

I know all there is to know involving that subject that is mentioned about me knowing it all!

Here is a link with my Tutorials!!!

Spectacular! First interesting original tutorial I've seen in a while, I'll have fun playing with this one. :D

By the way, have you tested the pools with your sims to ensure that they work properly? Some screenshots of sims swimming in them would be awesome if you can manage it. Thanks again!!!

Bravo...!

TYs 4 sharing your tutorial.

just a question, does that mean, as long as the pool water high up, the first ground above it becomes the pool's default entry level?

There are KEY difference with that tutorial and mine, the point that the ground is not left raised in the corner and the point that the pool edges are deleted in mine! Ohh and as long as the ground on the very edge of the corners of the pool are left at height the pool wont move! Pools in different places are held completely separate! A pool will lower to the lowest point of terrain on a corner! So if one corner is made, or left lower then the rest the pool will drop to its height!

Very detailed reply... Merci & thanks...

So, the two sides were rised higher than the another two that limit the pool lower in order to make the high dive...?

After all can you also show how the sims get out?

TY...

Update:

No need for fotos to get them out now, I've managed them to get out eventually...

PS, once an area has the pool layers out, namely the pool built above, no more pool can be made there.

a little tip:
it looks very cool if you use the original pool walls. here's how to do that

katie,

The general practice is to add the dive-board/ pool-ladder with the cheat "moveobjects on", and remember to input "moveobjects off" to disable the cheat after finishing your business.

In my limited experiences with this type of pools, it takes almost a floor difference down before the sims will reach their swimming level, so making it as a high dive is very pragmatic.

Good lucks...

check out these tutorials for references of "high dive/jump" if necessary,

Thanks for the tutorials niol, I finally got the high dives to work! But sadly when my sims swim in the water on the second floor they are really swimming in the ground! I will try to get pics though.

I have recently had messages from people with difficulties keeping the level of Sims swimming in the pool equal to the level of the pool (Sims would swim on the floor of the pool), so I have some, if any solutions to the problem!

Ok this can be the result of several deferent problems, 1 The diving bored might not always work on the same level as the pool, I have some instances where the diving board has to be raised above the pool by one floor to work, 2 the floor level where the diving board/ latter to the pool has no floor tiles on it this would result with the sim switching to a lower floor to use the pool or it could be a problem with the floor heights, if you have seen in the screenshots, I haven’t put in any ladders to the pool, a mistake to the picture, but if the high dive diving bored are 1 floor level above the pool, its a good idea to have the ladders on the same level as the pool, one floor below the diving bored, also there is no floor tiles in the way of the diving bored! If having floor on the same level as the pool water is a problem there should be some way to fix it, I haven’t really worked with it before but with trial and error it can easily be fixed!

I hope I am of help!

Metranisome,

"I have some instances where the diving board has to be raised above the pool by one floor to work"
May you please post out some screenshots of these instances and those instances (where the diving board are at the same level as the pool...) so that more people here can help the process of clearing things up?

After all, certainly, you're really helpful...

Now, I'm combining Fat D's experiences with this:

"fill the dummy level floor with rgiles's transparent blue floor tile and add diving boards and ladders to the level above dummy with moveobjects"

Wow Niol I can tell you certainly are very good at finding any mistakes I have made! I hope to quickly (by tomorrow), update my tutorial with a troubleshooting and possible problems section at the end, I’m also going to feature more screenshots of Sims using the pool, hopefully even a video for better understanding of any problems or confusion!

Sorry for any confusion so far and hopefully my updated version of the tutorial will be up soon!

I feel I should be slapped...! :Slap: though glad to see things are getting cleared up... :D

Metranisome, katie & all,
it's also good to clear things up by viewing this thread for what Fat D has said if haven't.
