I've been googling and searching MTS for anyone else having this VERY intermittant and strange problem. This is only the second time it's happened to me since getting OFB.

I don't remember the precise details of the original occurance, but today it just happened again. I had saved a lot with one Sim, who was eating, and I returned to it like 2 RL days later, and the Sim finished eating but the option to clean up the dish was gone (clicking the plate just says no actions available.) These bugged out plates can't be deleted either, not even with MoveObjects on and testingcheats on. In fact, you can't even pick them up with both cheats enabled. The maid however came and got rid of that plate, so I was feeling somewhat relieved.

But the next time this Sim had something to eat, same deal. Now from what I remember the LAST time this happened, I moved my Sim out of the lot and onto another lot, and the problem followed the Sim.

I don't really remember what made it go away, it just went away. I'll add more information to this thread as I tinker with this bug. I still have NO IDEA what triggers it. And I don't remember how I got it to go away last time.

Every meal I've created since the first plate was affected, is affected as well.

I'm trying to diagnose this best to my ability, so here's a list of what behaviors from a plate that this happens to exhibits:
1. If Sim stops eating in middle of meal, you can still resume eating, but "Clean up" option is gone.
2. Plate is aquired from a group meal.
3. Group meal was created with "Make..." or "Serve dinner...", also single plates created with "Have dinner..." are affected as well.
4. The plate CANNOT be picked up, by any means, even with MoveObjects turned on, and testing cheats turned on, the game still says, "Can't pick up."
5. The maid can clean up these plates for you.
6. The group meal plate is affected as well (only options available at approatite times is "Serve" and "Grab a plate", "Clean up" is missing)
7. If there is still food on the plate, you can pick up up, but you can't delete it (again with both cheats enabled.)
8. Plates with food still on them can still be placed in Sim's inventory. But they still cannot be deleted (just says "Can't delete object" when you click the trash icon)

Some stuff I've tried to get it to go away:
1. Leaving the lot and going to a community lot, then returning. No effect.
2. Deleting my refrigerator and putting a new one. No effect.
3. Of course the obvious: Saving and reloading the lot. No effect.
4. Deleting ALL kitchen appliances and saving, then reloading the lot, and rebuying the applicances. No effect.

Other observations:
1. Seems specific to a paticular SIM, not to lots, or the neighborhood. Other Sims in the same neighborhood are unaffected. Problem follows affected Sim when they move to a new lot. Sadly, both times it's happened to me, it's been in a household where only 1 Sim is living, so can't try to see if other household members can clean up.
2. Reinforcing the 'specific to a Sim' theory, I used Inseminator and Mind Control mirror to summon a sim from another lot and take control of them. They can clean up the plates. So thinking it has nothing to do with the plates and meals themselves, it's totally something bugged with the Sim. This explains why the maid can clean them up, it does NOT however explain why MoveObjects is not behaving correctly when trying to move and/or delete the affected plates.

Fixing it:
I have figured out how to fix it. With MoveObjects on, picking up the affected Sim and deleting them, then saving the lot and reloading (Sim reappears as if they just moved in.) makes the problem go away. I should note, I had a meal I prepared BEFORE I did this, which I could not clean up, which the same Sim after being deleted and reloaded, could clean up that same meal they could not before.


If anyone else has more information or is experiencing this odd problem, please add your experiences here so we can figure out what's going on and how to avoid it.

I have a LOT of downloaded content, but the hacks/global-mods I'm using are pretty minimal and I've only added one new hack/mod, today, but this problem happened before that mod was even made, so that's not likely the culprit (FYI, the mod I got was tile hack that lets you put things on in the out of bounds area where mailbox/trash normally is. windkeeper made it.)

same happened to me , it was just when my sims was pregnat, my servo was able to cleaned so I used him. once she had the baby the problem disapear. I don´t know many strange things happens with open for business even mith the pach...
