Default Annoying animations
I absolutly hate it when my sims stand rubbing and patting their bellies making yummy sounds. It is so annoying, especially when I'm trying to make a story and one sim has the perfect pose and the other sims is making yummy sounds about food.
How do I get rid of this? I can't find the download. Or do I have to go through SimPe?

The hobbies animations. I no longer have freetime installed, but that was an annoyance with me. Mostly because I'd start doing them irl, without realizing it, like shooting imaginary hoops.

This isn't the WCIF forum, but I'm feeling generous. No Hobby Animations here: http://drupal.cyjon.net/node/212

I don't mind the hobby anims or even the OMG WEATHER! anims, but I just got M&GS... and half of you already know what I'm about to say-

Sim: ::steps outside:: ::BREATHES IN DEEPLY:: ::SHIELDS EYES FROM SUN WHETHER THERE IS SUN OR NOT::

Repeat this 100x a day. They even skip animations they're SUPPOSE to be doing (i.e. like when explaining a joke, or displaying their attraction to another sim) to SHIELD THEIR EYES. One sim even had his baby magically floating because he had to SHIELD HIS EYES during a SNOW STORM.

Maybe useful to you:
No Basking In the Sun
Flowers Smell Yummy

I don't mind if you call me "MSD" or something for short.

Really? My sims only shade their eyes on sunny days. (And it was SO ANNOYING before I got Seasons.) Don't know if your issue is due to hack conflicts, unpatched games, or maybe I'm just lucky. Have you tried TJ's 'no shade eye salute'?

The only thing I find annoying is the running animation. Sims look so static and weird when they are running, and it's especially annoying when you're trying to make a machinima with Sims running without them looking like they never ran in their life!

I don't think I've ever seen them do this. hmmm .... maybe I got something that stomped it before I installed.

I no longer come over to MTS very often but if you would like to ask me a question then you can find me on tumblr or my own site tflc. TFLC has an archive of all my CC downloads.
I'm here on tumblr and my site, tflc

Oh, yeah the saluting thing. TJ had a hack for it. Where is TJ's stuff now?

Same place it was before. The community is keeping Simbology going now that TJ has retired.

On my site I have dozens more Sims 2 mods. These mods come with no support so use them at your own risk.

All of the Freetime poses, the "OMG IT'S RAINING!!!" thing even when it wasn't raining, and how my sims just stand there and sniff themselves or grab their crotches cause they have to do something really bad but they don't do it, even though they don't have anything in their actions queue >.<

Nope, all patched up, don't really have any hacks that deal with weather, but maybe it had something to do with making a sim change the season via the weather machine. In any case, I'll try to recreate the situation again.

It's so weird because other anims don't bother me (I love the hobby ones ), but it's like they're constantly doing the shade eye salute.

Thank you guys for the links. I remember seeing them awhile back before I had M&GS and never bookmarked them

Something I find incredibly annoying is the waving and finger pointing that Sims sometimes do when walking past other sims. Mostly because they do it way too often for my taste.

That's either the "Hi! I'm really outgoing!" greeting to everyone, or the "good reputation/bad reputation" reaction that came with Apartment Life.

And I've got a question: does anyone know what triggers the Grouchy sim random scowling while idling and grumbling while walking? Because my surliest sims don't do that anymore and I miss it. Does it stop when they're permaplat? My permaplat super-Nice sims still do the random "I'm a ray of sunshine!" happy idles.

A really funny part about the vermin is when your adult Male sims cry about it. I mean, really?! You're crying cause you saw bugs. Well, what about the flies that fly around spoiled food? They don't cry over that! Sims are weird sometimes.

Oh, I don't know. Flies don't freak me out nearly as much as roaches do. *shudder* As for guy sims crying over them, why not? If female sims are going to cry over them, males should as well. Perhaps a better case could be made for kids crying over them, but not adults/elders.

Ha, ha. Reminds me of the great horror writer Stephen King being afraid of bats. His wife laughed delightedly about that on a show I saw, then said she had to deal with the bats.

Stephen King seems to have more than his share of irrational fears, and I've never been able to decide if his becoming a horror writer makes more sense or less because of it.
