This user has the following games installed:

Sims 3, World Adventures, Ambitions
Default Extracting SIM file from sims3pack
Hello,
Two days ago when I double clicked sims3pack to install a sim my TS3 Launcher suddenly stuck/freeze. I had to use Alt-Ctrl-Del to close the program (I understand this isn't good way) but I didn't know what else to do.
When I tried again to install a house that I downloaded from MTS here, the launcher worked fine and the house showed up properly in my game. I must say never have any problem installing houses/clothes/accessories using the launcher before. But not with this sim, which has caused my launcher to stop/freeze.

Is there a way to extract SIM file out of sims3pack? The owner of the sim suggested me to convert the sims3pack in package file format I 'm not sure if it's going to work for sims. I really need advice here.

Thank you

You can use Delphy's Sims3Pack Multi Installer to extract(it's on this site but you have to search for it) the content of any sims3pack.
Extracting sims need extra steps though as they have to go in SavedSims folder and need to have the extension .sim, if the sims3pack include any cc, that will also be extracted but that goes in mods folder, so you need to figure out which is what, if you open the .package files in S3PE you can check that, look on the tag SNAP, ICON or THUMB for clues which is what.

I want my Space Pony title back.. why was it there such a short time..

Thank you for your reply Belzader. I did some googling and found this thread http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=435986 not sure if it's related but I'm in the same situation like the poster.

I already have Sims3pack Multi Installer which I use it to convert furniture, patterns, objects sims3pack files into package format. However I have never try it on sims. And when I extracted the sim sims3pack file using Multi Installer today,I got 4 package files out of it. Honestly I don't know what to do when I opened those files in S3PE. It seems tricky to sort out the cc and .sim file out of them on my own.
The owner of the sim didn't have her computer at this moment so that's why she cannot convert all her uploaded sims into SIM file format. A little bit frustrating I must say but if there's no other way I guess I have to forget about the sim. I like the sim but I'm not willing to risk anything I don't know and cause my game to lag and have problem later on.

and thank you again for being helpful I appreciate it.

What i could see straight away in that thread, is that the poster put the "sim" in mods folder, which ofc won't work since game doesn't know what to do with it, because it's not a .package file, it must be renamed to .sim and put in the SavedSims folder.

It might look overwhelming in S3PE in the beginning, but how it work is quite simple, for this purpose you don't need to do any thing else then look for the tags i wrote above to figure out which is what and clicking on thoose tags shows you a picture on the right side.

Another hint to which file is the sim-file, sims have two more tags SIME & SIMO, the rest of the tags you can just "close" your eyes for.
If you open one of your sims in SavedSims folder with S3PE you can check how a .sim file looks like in it.

Oh God you're my real saver! *hugs* Now I understand how to sort the tags.

Based on your info I found this SIM file finally and I can see his picture on the right side of S3PE. The other 3 package files are custom jeans, swimming trunk and male jacket which included with the sim. I'm surprised because the owner didn't tell me anything about custom contents that attached to this sim.

But again, thank you so much for your help I almost give up on finding on the SIM file. Yeay!

You will need to tick the Tags tickbox in the bottom of the S3PE window, if this is the first time you're using it.
