Default Do cutting/self-harm overlay boxes (NOT skins) exist?
I'm guessing I can ask about this, since I've seen people asking about self-harm skins and poses, and this isn't much different! I've just realized that well-made tattoo overlays such as these are nothing to be afraid of, and I'm wondering if anyone has made them for self-harm wounds/scars. I've seen a lot of interesting wound overlay boxes, but they're far too extreme for what I'm looking for -- I currently could use wrist or arm cuts (actually, one cut would be ideal, but I'd gladly settle for anything like that) for a storyline I'm thinking of trying in my megahood, though other wounds that could realistically be self-inflicted might also be useful. Skins are not what I'm looking for at all, as the Sim in question is already made (a Maxis pre-made, in fact) and I have no intention of trying to change her skin, and clothes would be little help unless, by some freakish chance, they suit her style. Do such overlays exist? I can't see why they couldn't, but maybe the subject's too taboo for them to be posted anywhere I've looked...

If you're wondering the storyline I'm thinking of, the Sim in question made the initial slash on her arm to draw blood in an attempt to save a vampire who was disintegrating in front of her eyes. (It...makes a bit more sense in context.) This failed, and her brother will, when their household is next played, accuse her of being self-destructive and attention-seeking; this conveniently gives him an excuse to exclude her from family politics at a critical time. The twist is that his accusations and inappropriate shunning might make her actually become a cutter... I really can't pretend and make her wear long sleeves all the time though, which is why an overlay would be useful.

Can't say I've seen it, and chances are that if you find it the scars will be in the wrong place.

But if you don't mind using SimPE you can make your own textures and replace the textures with these in a tattoo box you don't use. That's what I did with a few overlays I desperately needed (I really need to learn making actual overlay boxes...). You won't be able to use the oriinal tattoos in the box, but if you're only going to use it for a story you can take the edited box in and out of the game as you see fit, and edit the textures if need be.

This is not a 'cutting'* pose box but I have found it useful for awkward teen shots. There might be something useable in there.

*sounds horrid but I guess you want it for a story.

I no longer come over to MTS very often but if you would like to ask me a question then you can find me on tumblr or my own site tflc. TFLC has an archive of all my CC downloads.
