I am currently experiencing a completely non-working mod. It has worked for me in the past, but recently it has stopped. I downloaded the stable version, along with the toddler patch, yet I am unable to change the heights of my sims. I enter the proper commands, but nothing seems to change.
Am I perhaps missing an important step?

And have you also got the updated slider script fix file from Ash77 in post #392 (page 16 i think). My apologies if you have. I only use the short and tall toddler fix sliders and the slider script fix and its working fine for me.

hoseokachu 23rd Jul 2017 9:21 PM

Hi! Everything seems to be working, but just curious if theres a way to fix the clipped heads of shorter and taller sims in their little headshot icons in the bottom left corner? This is just an aesthetic complain haha so if theres nothing to do theres no biggie.

Menaceman44 26th Jul 2017 2:54 PM

Nobody knows how to change the portrait pictures yet. Or even if it's possible. The cameras are set at a fixed height for them.

ArtUrlWWW 27th Jul 2017 10:36 PM

Hello, guys.
I found, that this mod was stopped working.
Who wants it reworked?
I can rework it, if you want.

cx1 27th Jul 2017 11:08 PM

Is there a height mod for teens - elders that works without the kiss/hug, carring toddlers and so on bugs?
If there is please link to what I need 😬

kampffenhoff 28th Jul 2017 7:40 AM

I use the combination given in post 490. It works perfectly and you can adjust by pulling their feet and in CAS. You need to follow the instructions in post 317 carefully.

cloroxbleachh 28th Jul 2017 10:43 AM

This mod was just working a week ago and now its gone again Why does this keep happening. Someone please fix this.

It's still working in my game. I know because I was only using it yesterday.
The files in the first post haven't worked for a long time but there have been several updates by other members throughout the replies.

Post #317 is the key. Start there.

Remember that this is the original mod:
http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=559329
It is the only fully working mod. The animation could probably be a little smother but can, if changed, result in strange toddler handling. Short sims get stiff legs.
Some people don't like to use the foot slider as a height slider in CAS. Others don't like to set the height in the cheat console.

Original source code:
https://1drv.ms/u/s!Am8KXkA0MW12hjkJiY_T6hHUV3KS

Here is an attempt to just improve animation but resulted later in toddler handling issue.
http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=588159

Post #490 have a summary of one alternative setup.

My personal priority is:
Shorter teens than adults.
Nicer animations of short sims.
Set heights survive aging.
Realistic genetics.
Height setting in CAS
Height setting in cheat console.

This is what is happening since the latest update. I did not get a pic of the children, they were all walking with bent knees. I just removed the sliders for now. I do have the updated script and verto's updates for the slider. I really like the sliders and they were working just fine until the update.

And, I see changes in Python code of the game API.
Console version is not working for all, right? I am saying about file A lot of sliders for The Sims 4 v0.06.1.zip.

Menaceman44 28th Jul 2017 9:22 PM

I forget which version of everything I am using now but I am using the CAS feet slider version made by CmarNYC to actually alter heights.

ArtUrlWWW 29th Jul 2017 12:27 AM

I've made fixed version of the mod, so you can enjoy it with console commands - http://arturlwww.tumblr.com/post/16...-gradual-height

Manderz0630 29th Jul 2017 3:43 AM

The Updated Height from vectorplexus and the Updated Script File from Ash77 along with CmarNYC's Height Slider are working for me still.

But what did you fix? To my knowledge there are no problems with the console commands. Did you fix the same problems as Ash77 already fixed in post #392?

Here are the latest findings that vectorplexus found before he took a pause:

Quote:
Ok here's a small update, on what is happening and how it can be fixed...

The problem is that the torso and legs ratio, in children and toddlers is different from Teens/YA/Adults and Elders. So if I fix the children/toddler I will break all other age's heights, and vice-versa. There is a way to fix this ofc, but it requires scripting (Python) and because I barely ever did anything in Python and because I'm not familiar with Sims 4 specific coding, its harder for me to try to code... I usually compare the way I'm coding in an unfamiliar language, to the Infinite monkey theorem, so I'm not even sure when and if I'll be able to pull this one out. I already looked at the scripts in more detail, and I have a general idea how I could fix it, to be able to have 2 sets of sliders (normal height and height for children/toddlers) but I'll make no promises, nor can I commit to a fast update, since I have no idea how much "face-rolling" will I need to do on my keyboard to have a functional script.

I will add though that I am finding my teen Sims bend their knees when they are shortened. Okay, so actually I've only tried the mod on one Sim because ALL I want is for teen Sims to be at a slightly shorter height by default, and his knees always seem to be slightly bent now.

That shouldn't be really happening on teens, but I'll check it out. Are Teens able to pick up Toddlers? I assume so, but I'm unsure

As you can see the animation part of the mod need a python to be fixed. But also the aging problem need a python to be fixed. Are you that python?

Edit:
Sorry, I now saw that you updated the version v0.06.1 and not the version v0.04.1 that almost all use.
So maybee some other issues are already solved in that version. I will make a test.

I have tested a bit and it seems short sims of all ages get better looking legs than in the original mod. The toddler issue is not solved though and I didn't expect that either.
The toddler fix by vectorplexus may solve that issue. The Ash77 fix seems not necessary with Arturlwww version as they probably solved the same bug.

Hopefully aging or genetics vill work if we base the mod on version.v0.06.1 instead of v0.04.1. Simmythesims says someware that he thought he had it working but it was destroid by an EA patch.

@Arturlwww: Please change the .zip extension of the file containing the scripts to .ts4script that is standard extension for script files in TS4.
You will have a huge number of installation questions from noobs that will unzip that file.

@Noobs: Just unzip ArtUrlWWW_Sliders v. 006.2.zip.

I'm finding with the gradual growth mod that the children are random heights that don't seem to be related to their age. Is it because I used Command Center to make custom lifespans maybe?

I think all sims in game, including children, are first set to a random height and start growing gradually from there.

As you maybe can see in the code below an age check is made and if child it sets the height slider to 15.36 * sim_age + simHeightStat - 100
So it is not only the age multplied by a value but also adding simHeightStat - 100.
The simHeightStat comes from simHeightStat = stat_commodity.get_value()

What value is that? Anyone that can comment the code?

Quote:
def SimGrowthOneSim(sim_info=None):
ageSpeed = services.get_age_service().aging_speed
pop = 0
if not services.get_age_service()._unplayed_aging_enabled:
ageSpeed = None
if sim_info is not None:
pop = pop + 1
# ScumLog.log('1')
sim_age = sim_info._days_until_ready_to_age()
SimAge = sim_info.age
randomizeHeightIfDefault(sim_info)
manager = services.get_instance_manager(Types.STATISTIC)
stat_file = manager.get(18157023230166068511)
stat_commodity = sim_info.get_statistic(stat_file)
simHeightStat = stat_commodity.get_value()
if SimAge == Age.CHILD:
childHeightSlider = 15.36 * sim_age + simHeightStat - 100

teenHeightSlider = 0
elif SimAge == Age.TEEN:
teenHeightSlider = 7.68 * sim_age
childHeightSlider = 0
else:
if SimAge == Age.YOUNGADULT or SimAge == Age.ADULT or SimAge == Age.ELDER:
teenHeightSlider = 0
childHeightSlider = 0
if childHeightSlider is not None:
AddSimSlider.setModifierWithSimInfo('chs', childHeightSlider, sim_info)
if teenHeightSlider is not None:
AddSimSlider.setModifierWithSimInfo('ths', teenHeightSlider, sim_info)
return

sure you can! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpPG0bKHYKc Python is fun and it's not too difficult as far as programming languages go! if you ever have some extra time, follow along with some youtube vidoes, or check out codeacademy.com or tutorials point. Happy coding!

The extension .py is Python source code and .pyo is the compiled version.

The language is like many others but the problem is where all these imported libraries is coming from and the documentation for them.
When I worked as a programmer the comments was larger than the actual code. The latest language I learnt was Perl or actually Expect

That was you that get the source code from simmythesims. That was OK but problem is that we got the code for the mod that was never finished.
The old mod is working but was probably programmed in C# and we don't have the source for that, do we. Maybe it is easier for someone like you to make changes to that code or....?.

Menaceman44 8th Aug 2017 7:06 PM

I have absolutely no coding experience at all other than tweaking some small bits of object tuning files.
The files that I shared came directly from simmythesim. They were the only ones he gave me.

bmso85 10th Aug 2017 4:06 PM

The sliders used to work for me including the toddler fix and I did use the new script but now every time I try to type in the cheat it does nothing. Yes my game is up to date.

hannah.bixby2222 11th Aug 2017 5:55 PM

I can't seem to make this work in my game! It used to work. I type the cheat in right (i.e. add_slider height 100) and I have tried all the different options to make it work (updated files within these comments, plus the toddler one) and I can't seem to make it work! My game is up to date as well. I think I need a little lesson in how to make it work, can anyone help me?

LambsEarie 17th Aug 2017 11:51 PM

This is the only mod that actually changes the height of all ages of sims. And now it isn't working! I could have my toddlers look like one was 1, and the other 3. My children could look 7-12 years old! Now my game seems lame :/ If someone can tell me what setup they have to get it working I'd be so grateful! I make custom poses on Tumblr, whoever can help me will get a posepack? Haha I'm desperate!

For some bizarre reason mine ONLY works when I have "testingcheats true" active. No where from what I have seen was that stated so I'm not sure if that's the problem. The version I have is the one that Arturlwww had posted -> comment #518 on page 21. Not sure if they'd be okay with me reposting the link or not but as a precaution I won't, but it's fairly easy to spot. Hope any of that helps

Did it automatically change the height of the toddlers? Mine has never done that! Would be good though.

Yeah, a little height difference is nice, but I've got kids who are about to age to teens who are the same height as the ones who just aged from toddler, and vice versa. It just seems a bit off.

What files from what pages are you using? It is so many combinations now.

punchthecarbonara 22nd Aug 2017 8:44 PM

Works ok with me for the 22/23.08.17 patch, I'm using the Hand and Neck slider from the first page (a lot of sliders...) (#1 ); Vectorplexus' Height Short, Tall, and Growth (#317 ) ; Ash77 updated script (#392 ); and Cmar's foot slider (#469 )

Edit: forgot to mention that I use the commands for toddler and children only, teens and up use the foot slider and the height remains the same after age up through testing. commands for neck and hands work for teens and up, I haven't tested it on children or toddlers nor do i see any reason to

EDIT #2: I had problems with using the Growth script (really ugly weird teen stretching) so I removed it and it's fine now. I also switched the Hand and Neck slider from "A Lot of Sliders..." to the "STABLE..." version. Just in case others had the same problem...
ALSO, I shared some sims using this height slider set up with a friend who didn't have them installed, and it caused their game to crash, so a word of precaution for sharing sims. Their game was fine and they could play the sims when they had the sliders in, and it also reactivated GODJUL1's slider (and my sims were even more taller in their game). That slider is here .
Maybe it's best to remove the slider mods before sharing sims? I'm assuming it's Cmar's up down foot slider that causes the crash as it adds a slider that's not in the vanilla game.

Hmm, interesting with the aging. What do you mean with "through testing". I thought I have tested it in different ways before but without any luck.

Age up naturally?
Age up with cheat?
Age up in CAS?

mooncakemimz 28th Aug 2017 2:23 PM

The sliders worked fine for me a few days ago, however it appears that whenever I pick up my toddler the arms bend backwards and you cannot see them carrying the toddler. Also the bodies of my Toddler seem to elongate with tiny legs and bent knees. My teenagers also seem to have body distortion. I removed the sliders from my game. I am patched to the latest patch provided. I per-ordered Cats & Dogs, but I am hoping that doesn't have anything to do with the issues I am experiencing.

Pascalos99 28th Aug 2017 4:46 PM

I've enabled both "custom content" and "script mods", but I haven't been able to get either the newest or the stable version to work.
They just load in properly, all mods present, other mods are working fine, but when I type the commands, like "add_slider Height -50" or "add_slider Neck -100", nothing happens (in Live mode). Removing all other mods has no effect.

I am using windows 10, might that be the problem? Because I don't think I'm doing something wrong. And if so, what am I doing wrong?

Dizor 30th Aug 2017 1:35 AM

Is there any way to increase the range on the existing bones/sliders for things like calves, forearms etc?

Just aging up through CAS, teen up to adult. I don't believe children maintain any slider information (upon aging up to a teen) from the cheat window because that height script doesn't affect teens + ? I haven't tested it through natural aging up, but seeing as Cmar's foot slider is an in CAS thing I'm sure that information stays with the teen.

What mod? This is a ceator feedback thread where the creator left before the mod was published.

But the best description of the status of this mod-project is this:

In any case, you can try to use another mod version, adapted for newest version of The Sims 4 - http://artfun.pw/mods/ArtUrlWWW_Sliders/ .

yamina-chan 4th Oct 2017 6:51 AM

@ArtUrlWWW Even your version of the mod seems to be not functioning in the current version =(
I've tried to run it in combination with other mods and alone. I've tried capital and lower case letters for the commands. I've run it with and without testingcheats enabled. And I have tried the mod in the Mods folder directly, in a subfolder, with and without unzipping the scripts forlder within it and basically everything in various combinations.

No matter what I do, nothing happens when I enter the command.

Interesting! Have you got lastException.txt or gameCrash.txt in the folder named The Sims 4?

tachyonics 5th Oct 2017 3:36 AM

This works! Great mod, make sure you download Ash's script override!

I do, but it's an older one. From before I tested your mod. And the game does not generate a new one if I try to run it with just your version.

Assaulto 8th Oct 2017 3:03 AM

I've tried out multiple height mods so far, and one common issue I notice is that short sims will clip through chairs and beds when sitting down.
Does the latest 2 versions of this mod cause short Sims to sink through chairs, couches and beds ?

Krikk 9th Oct 2017 12:29 AM

Where do I put the commands? In cheat window? If so something is not right since nothing happens.

Can you change height by dragging the foot slider left/right in CAS?

Have you installed the parts listed here?

Thanks for the info, Tachyonics ! And thanks to Ash77 of course !
Cause yes, this works on game version 1.34.
Excellent !

yamina-chan 17th Oct 2017 12:09 AM

Okay. I've removed and re-added everything making absolutely sure to have the reccomended mods in place.
The feet slider in CAS works perfectly under this setup so that makes me a happy camper. ^^
The commands, however do not. And as I mostly want to use this on children (who would rely on commands) I am somewhat at a loss.
I might just be stupid and doing something obvious wrong. XD'

Can I ask the people who do use it, have it working and use the commands to share a screenshot of the game with the correct command input?

Did you install the mods in the order mentioned here?
http://modthesims.info/showthread.p...336#post5260336

Extract all of them into the same folder and allow files to be overwritten.

Yes, that's exactly what I did. Still, the commands do not give any response which is why I'm wondering if I'm a derp and am somehow messing something else up.
I read enough of r/talesfromtechsupport to know that it there's a high probability this is a user error XD Which is why I was hoping for a screenshot. Just to know if I can rule that possibility out.

add_slider height -50 är allt du behöver skriva.

Edit:
add_slider height -50 is all you need to write.

And that is what I thoght it was, so thank you.
Hm. Weird. I don't know why it is not working then. =(

falloutpc 18th Oct 2017 2:27 PM

The problem I'm having is the height variations affect most physical interaction animations like hugging and kissing. A taller person ends up kissing someone above the head in mid air, and even a slight variation and the alignment is off. I'm not a big modder but maybe setting each age at a specific height and then re-adjusted to match would work.

WaterPearl 23rd Oct 2017 9:42 PM

I have a little problem.
When I make taller children/toddlers they float and when I make shorter children/toddlers they bend their knees a lot. Am I the only one having this issue, if not can someone fix this please.

This is not a mod yet and no one is working on it.
What combination of files do you use? How do you set height, in CAS or in cheat console?

WaterPearl 24th Oct 2017 4:11 PM

Well, I use Vectorplexus Toddler Fix with Ash 77 script so I set the height in cheat console.
But I don't seem to have legs problems on toddler and children with the original packages made by simmythesim.

Suddenly I get the toddler problem back so I checked my installation and started from scratch. I did a version based on this desciption by punchthecarbonara:

Quote:

Optionally get the mod by CMAR's HeightSlider in CAS Feet.zip in post #469.

Set the height in CAS on young adults, adults and elders with the feet slider. Use the cheat console only for toddlers and children.

WaterPearl 25th Oct 2017 4:41 PM

I still have the same problem. But I'm looking for a way I can fix it myself.

thejabby 28th Oct 2017 4:02 AM

can someone help me with the fix for the toddler thing. When I pick up a toddler the sim's arm is like twisted and disfigured. What am I suppose to do to fix this?

Download the zip instead of the files you've already downloaded. Drag the packages in your mod folders and let the files overwrite the files you've already downloaded.

Is there a way to use the sliders on sims that are not part of your household without going into their household and making them playable? I wanna make my butler taller, but if I make him playable the game generates me a new butler x.x

Menaceman44 3rd Nov 2017 9:18 PM

If you use the foot slider version by CmarNYC in post #469 ( https://www.modthesims.info/sh...255#post5231255 ) then you should be able to shift-click him and select Edit In CAS then change his height from there. You will need to enable testing cheats and the cas.fulleditmode cheats as well before entering CAS.

I've downloaded your mod and edited it. My mod have more height differences, and it modify other body parts. For exemple: Tall Sims have taller legs and short sims have shorter legs.

Menaceman44 7th Nov 2017 6:47 PM

I can't remember which bone pair you need to edit but one of them controls the offset for the arms. I had the same problem when I edited the foot slider for my own personal use. It's been that long since I made the changes though I can't remember which I edited. Sorry.

I use the Bone Delta tool to edit the bones, I don't know if it need to create a new bone to fix it.

Menaceman44 7th Nov 2017 8:47 PM

I just opened the package with sims4studio and messed around with the bones already in there and one of the pairs fixed the issue. I've never used the Bone Delta Tool.

How did you manage to find a resource to edit the bones with sims4studio?

Menaceman44 8th Nov 2017 7:35 PM

I just edited what was already in the Height Slider Short package. There's a Bone Pose resource already in there. If you select that and then in the right side of the window click on Edit Items... next to Deltas. They're not named though so it was just trial and error.

I don't know well how the bone hash works. I just need a expert to help me with this.

I've downloaded the v6, the bottom one that says "tons of sliders", I've tried to change the height of my sims, with "add_slider Height -100" and tried it at 100 paused in live mode and got nothing. I have script mods and custom content checked in game options. i also tried the one labeled "stable". neither worked on regular sims or vampires. I'm using windows 10 if that matters. am i doing something wrong? i feel like i'm missing something.
i looked through other answers for as long as i could manage without frustration and found nothing helpful..

I know what the problem is. The old script is incopatable with the latest game patches, you need to download the fix by Ash77.

Try the fix by Morphar, now I'm trying to edit it to make more height differences but it's not ready yet, the arms of my Sims are twisted when they move their arms too close to the hip. I need an expert in bone hash to help me to finish it.

Okay thank you. I downloaded the package files. I won't be able to test it until after my G.E.D classes.

Hey; would anyone be willing to compile a list of necessary files/instructions so I can use the height mod after the most recent patch? I appreciate all of your efforts to update it, but it's very confusing to dig through old threads and knowing which files I need. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Manderz0630 11th Nov 2017 6:48 PM

C +crtl or C + alt add_slider height 100 through -100 press enter. (In live mood)

Bones data tool used to create sliders. (Offset will move the bone, scale will resize it. X is up/down Z is left/right, Y is forward/backward.) Editing/fixing a slider will require to save over it.
http://modthesims.info/download.php?t=372169

Will also need S4PE and Sims 4 Studio.
