This is maybe the third lot I've ever made, but the first I've ever done with the idea of uploading it for others to see. I made this lot with two things in mind:
1) I wanted to make a place I'd like to live
2) I wanted to experiment with some "fancy" techniques like split-level and custom slanted roofs. I think it turned out well for a first attempt. Many thanks to Jonesi, because it was her tutorials that I learned from.
This is a 1BR dwelling with a nice patio/pool area in the back. The entire upstairs level is the open master suite, with a balcony overlooking the front of the lot. The downstairs includes a kitchen/dining area with a wetbar transition into the living/entertainment room. There is also a hobby room on the first floor. I was going for an interesting (hopefully) approach to the split level idea on the first floor, with the entry/hallway areas being up on a foundation and overlooking the living areas, which are recessed down short stairwells. Probably not very practical in most peoples' minds, but I think it gives the house character.
Lot size is 4x4, though in retrospect it should have been 3x3
Lot price is just under $40,000
The lot is completely unfurnished, although the pictures show a few standard appliances so you could sort of see how I had things laid out.
I have Numenor's "Unlevel Walls Mod" installed, you will need it for walls under the slanted roof to show correctly:

I also used XxHalfBloodPrincexX's "Another Spiral Staircase" which is both stylish and functional:

Everything else is standard.
As I said, this is a first for me, so let me know what you think of it.

- You may want to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer instead of the game's installer, which will let you install sims and pets which may otherwise give errors about needing expansion packs. It also lets you choose what included content to install. Do NOT use Clean Installer to get around this error with lots and houses as that can cause your game to crash when attempting to use that lot. Get S2PCI here: Clean Installer Official Site.
