Default Yay patch! :)
Haven't fired up my game since the new patch came out, but there's some good stuff in the patch notes Just have to hope that the list of new bugs it introduces is shorter than the list of things it fixes! And I don't like the ingame store, but that's another topic

Anyway, some great fixes in there Let's hope the saving/crashing/stability fixes actually work. The leftovers problem should be history, and the age reset when using a dresser. There are tourists in France. Cured mummies are fully cured. Quests aren't broken because of NPC death (NPCs don't age if they're involved in an active adventure).

And a few things that just made me chuckle :D

# Playable ghosts can no longer get stuck wandering into a gender specific bathroom.
# Sims no longer cuddle with inappropriate partners in tents.
# There are now stricter relationship requirements for Woohooing with Sims in the Sarcophagus.
# Addressed an issue where Sims could get stuck in the Sarcophagus if other Sims were lined up to use it.
# Gnomes can now be live dragged on community lots.
# Mummies can no longer learn songs. Their vocal chords have deteriorated leaving them mute.

What are everybody else's favorite fixes?

Definately.
Still though. A lot of fixes.

On another(semi-unrelated) note, CAW require the new patch.

You can disable the ingame store, go into options, game settings and there is a tick box next to the aging and story progression boxes, be warned though it comes as enabled by default.

Yup, I've managed to get patched (and get my CC sorted out), and was pleased to find the option that disables store mode. Makes the button disappear completely Really thoughtful of EA to put that in (and I'm sure a lot of parents of Sims players will be very grateful too!)

Wow, it was big news to me the CAW was released and there was a new patch. I was out visiting family and came home LATE to find all the news. I'm a little afraid to apply the patch, though. How's it going for everyone so far? Any serious breakage? I thought I picked up a little talk, not sure how accurate, that it now breaks CC installed via the launcher as Simspacks if it's not EA Store CC. Crikey, I already took out all CC in package format because of the lag and problems those caused. All I have left are Simspacks I put in via the launcher and that's not much because not a whole lot of CC is offered that way. An EA-content only game is a very sad sight to behold.

Do I need to remove that kind of CC, too, before I install the patch? If so...screw it. I'm going back to Sims2 until this chronic conflict with CC gets worked out.

On a lighter note, LOL at the description of the bugfixes. And whoa---I didn't even know woo-hoo was an option in the sarcophagus. They sneaked in the option to WooHoo in more places than I had thought. Good for them! And here we thought EA had lost its sense of humor.

My game works fine after the patch, both with package and sims3pack files in it; all of the CC shows up and causes no problems so far. I don't currently dare to install any other new things then some hair though as I did have problems with the 1.6 patch (it not accepting custom made plants with the blue lot issue). Either way; this patch seems really ok so far

I installed the new patch and then all the problems started ! I spend the whole day trying to fix the issues. Finally I uninstalled and reinstalled. Everything worked fine.

Until I tried to reinstall the Sims3packs. In the Sims 3 Launcher some are installed correctly. And others can't be installed, even though the final reads "Success!". And I tried several times, but the Installed checkbox remains empty...

Really I'm getting sick of this game. I spend more time fixing the bugs than playing. I miss the Sims 2 !!!

Not happy with this patch. Had been pretty lucky up until now with Sims 3, but this patch is awful, it's taken almost all of my CC out of the game! Grrrr Also annoyed that it didn't fix or do anything about the one WA thing that really annoys me - the eye candy constant red sparkles!

...Why would a patch remove...that? You chose to give it to your sim. Why would a patch take it away? If you don't want it, don't use it. There's nothing to "Fix"
Coffee, anyone?

http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=382520 for anyone having trouble with CC and the new patch, please read the help sticky. There are also a few threads on how to get Riverview back if you are one of the unlucky ones who lost it after patching.

Makes me glad I am a procrastinator. hehe

I'm worried that my latest Salvation Army donation will result in homeless people looking like sluts from the 90s.

blackhand, the only way to downgrade is to uninstall and reinstall the game, then manually patch to the level you desire. A bad uninstall can cause even more problems, so please follow these instructions carefully: Game_Help:TS3_Uninstallwiki.

It seems to have fixed the messed up pools, so now your sim doesn't get submerged to the bottom anymore.

Edit: Only seems to be fixed if you have Advanced Rendering turned on.

That sounds like the problem that occurs when there's something wrong with a STBL (string table). I would bet it's CC-related.
