Hi everyone !

Realized between 1498 and 1499 by Michelangelo, this marble statue is housed in St. Peter's Basilica, Vatican City. It represents the biblical theme of the Mater dolorosa, holding on his knees the body of Christ descended from the Cross before his Entombment, his Resurrection and his Ascension.

I made this statue from a free 3D model I found on the Internet. I reduced significantly the number of faces (1 500 000 to 9 985), built an UV map, normal map and textures.

I also added a large pedestal for this statue .
