ETA to remove double img

Answering my own one here xD

I think this was a remnant of a previous issue [EA end when things would get stuck in the mail box can't remember what patch caused that resetting the lot in that save via MC fixed it]

And I wondered what would happen if 2 machines on the lot with 2 sewers (not a good idea lol)

If one of the sims gets the I screwed up it CAN reset one or both of them, then click on machine continue project (if doing one) sim starts resets try again resets only way
to fix that sell the machine get new ones rinse repeat LOL

Didn't do it for long and deleted that test save

Very late edit typo

Default Issue: Can't Renovate House After Removing Sewing Machine
Gives message of Cannot Intersect Objects.

Photo of house trying to renovate after machine removed.
https://i.ibb.co/y6vQhY6/CIO.jpg
- Family was removed before renovating.

Photo of house w/machine
https://i.ibb.co/92VZJPn/TH4.jpg
- This photo is shared for reference of where sewing machine was placed.

How To Recreate Issue:
Delete the sewing machine. Remove the wall behind where the machine was. Then try to re-add the wall and it will give you the message of Cannot Intersect Objects.

Troubleshooting Tips Tried:
- This issue happens regardless if there's an active family on lot or not.
- Reset Lot via MC doesn't help.
- Can't find anything off via MC Object Stats.
- Even tried moving family out sell all furniture and move back in. - Deleting machine first before move.

Still can't replace wall that was behind the sewing machine.

I figured it out @Annie280 I had the same issue and it was bugging me no end.

My sim gave me the clue lol

You will need MC (master controller)

The clue my sim gave me was a thought bubble over his head in that room it was a cushion that I could not see. I'm huh? So run MC-object stats not inventory the cushion showed up so I flushed it and now pop the machine back in it's place and renovate.

Thanks to Rumbutter who clued me on how to fix the issue in my house. I was about ready to chuck the house and start over... Well I did kind of. But am very happy to be able to still use the house I have been using for the past couple of days.

Path To Fixing Renovation Issues ~
With Active Sim, Click on ground > Nraas > MasterController > MC Object Stats > Not in Inventory - Delete all the rugs.

I do remember when I was playing with the save you gave me, when I moved the sewing table, all of the sudden 2 rugs popped up which... is a new one to me! Now, what it does 'behind the scenes' is that the object your sim will 'fail' or 'continue' is slotted on top of the sewing machine, but invisible (the slotting you'll figure out if you ever try putting a plant on the sewing table :p). The AMB workbench comes with this same approach, just slightly more complex than this.

Now it should have just deleted the object with it though, not sure why it didn't! I'm not sure if it's exceptional for rugs or something You know how if you have an end table, with a lamp on top and you delete the end table that the lamp deletes with it? That should happen here too. But again, i guess because it's a rug, it doesn't do that?

I can add some additional checking before you delete the sewing table to remove anything that's on that slot to fix this though in case of some misbehaving rugs or objects

I tried in 3 different tests and each got the same result of no clothing patterns.

Quote:
However when i sent my Sim (level 9 in sewing) to buy a pattern the clothing ones are not in the list menu to buy them.
Checked older save same issue there.
Started a new save new sims cheated him up to level 6 go buy pattern and no clothing ones to buy either.

It's really interesting though that you both don't have the clothing pop up for you! Same is now happening for me (Wonder if it was cached or something for it to show it when I uploaded the version you both have). I'll check it out! Sorry about that!

Quote:
Ooooh Sorry about that. It is getting a wee-bit confusing because all of the ones we're testing are v1.0.8 so I have been adding a letter behind the v# to help with the confusion and now am adding the release date and post # to further help the confusion.

Lol, you're not alone! I'm going to mark them a bit different for you testers now (So, date and if it's the same date, start marking them with A,B or C, etc) Hope that will help!

I think it was version 1.0.7 I converted all my code to be only dependant on the individual sewing table, rather than it being globally (because back then I was pretty new to modding :p) But it seems you found some remains of that. So now the sewing table itself should have it's items 'saved' on it's own, therefore if your sim fails with one sewing table, the second sewing table won't care since it's not related anymore

Anyways! Fixed the bug where the cloth was screwing things up (like placing a wall) and misbehaving rugs shouldn't be a problem now either! If they are however, then it sounds like they were never snapped onto the slot anyways, but they should now appear visible though. Else, it's pretty much beyond what the sewing table's code can help with unfortunately :/

Clothing will also show up again, I somehow said in the script that anything clothing-related should be ignored... that was some old debug code, so removing that helped fixing it!

Hope this does the job, for you @Annie_280 , @rumbutter ! It's doing it on my end though. Did you both found anything interesting yet with the pattern club? are they still receiving it regularly now? I'm still testing it on my end but time is limited :p

Default Big Issue: Cannot Buy Patterns
I had my Sim go by patterns....

Buy Any Pattern ~
https://i.ibb.co/3pkXCSq/BAP.jpg

Yeah... Nope...
https://i.ibb.co/M2tqSDh/Nope.jpg

Have to use Task Manager to force quit the game.

It actually doesn't "crash" per-se. It gets stuck in that popup message. Then have to use Task Manager to get out of game.

-- Tested in new save each time. Tested 3 times. 1st time laughed about it. 2nd time I was like hmmm... and 3rd time took some screenshots.

Default Possible Issue: No Buy/Browse Options on Old Computer
After leveling up to sewing skill 6 every now and again I'll have to replace the old computer because it doesn't have the Buy/Browse options.

I didn't think anything of it, just kept replacing it - thinking player error but since it's been happening more often I thought I'd mention it just in case.

Tested new save new sim only one to use the machine same issue as reported above have to keep ticking the tick to eventfully the window to pop up. I counted the clicks lol 9 clicks in total to get the choose which to sew window pop up.

EDIT TO ADD: The STOP sign thing is from a previous issue. I just tested it Make any item of clothe e.g. Ladies Adult top sew a second one and get the STOP sign. Make one gift or sell it sew the second one no STOP sign.

Interesting that you're getting the noodle shirt from hell as well, I guess the code is misbehaving regarding clothing again... Was it by any chance that one you're buying? Because code-wise I can see how that could give you that empty notification (since I assign the names differently on clothing compared to objects). Could you check it with the other clothing items for me?

Also that popup was a print statement I kept in by accident... sorry! Thought I'd removed them all!... It was 2 am here when I uploaded the latest version probably wasn't a good idea. Will remove them!

Yeah, that's a known issue with the tutorial I used to 'inject' the interaction to any existing computers. :/ It especially may happen when sims go on holiday, but that one is unfortunately beyond my reach to fix. It has something to do with when the game decides it's time to inject the interaction into existing objects, where that doesn't always go as planned. (Skipping objects, not triggering the 'event listener' etc.) So purchasing/replacing the computer will fix that I've noticed the same thing happening, but I'd have to play around a bit more with event listeners and stuff to eventually be able to see how to get this working (And obviously sharing those findings with other script modders out there)

I keep seeing that too when I'm playing my save with my seamstress, and it's a pretty confusing error message even for me since it can be numerous things. Now I 'think' what's going on, is that because I'm checking if the sim is registered as a 'seamstress who makes clothing' so to speak, and save that data so you can share the clothing eventually, any dupes seem to be getting rejected? So what I tend to do as well in my gameplay is selling it and then create more. Which is a bit annoying when you want to make a business out of it So I really want to look into that as well, since it's pretty frustrating.

EDIT: Also I figured I'd give you guys a free cookie since you've both helped me tremendously fixing things that I missed myself!

Default Re: Big Issue: Cannot Buy Patterns
Little more information.

It gives this error regardless of which pattern option I try to select - Buy Any Patterns or Buy Clothing Patterns.

A bit on the funnier side, I was able to get to the pattern menu after clicking the accept button on the popup message with 9 clicks.

Thank you for looking into that.

Do you know which version you have?

There's the one on the Downloads page.
LYRALEI_GREENPLUMBBOBLOVER_SewingTable_BETA_V1.0.8.zip - 27th May 2021

And then there's the updated one that we've been testing from post #287
LYRALEI_GREENPLUMBBOBLOVER_SewingTable_BETA_V1.0.8[TESTING-02-06-2021].zip

Lyralei has been making a lot of different changes to the sewing machine and so deleting the old machine and replacing it with a new one from Buy mode is always best.

If you've got the one from the downloads page, then try the new testing version from post #287.

If you've got the testing version then try deleting the cache files and replacing the old machine with a new one from Buy mode.

– CasPartCache.package

– compositorCache.package

– scriptCache.package

– simCompositorCache.package

– socialCache.package

* Important Information about the cache files:
Every time you add, delete, or remove a mod from your Packages and/or Overrides folder, you must delete your scriptCache.package file. If you do not do this, newly added content will not appear in your game, and lingering data can be present even though you removed a mod.

Regarding the interruption and freezing thing, that used to be an issue 2 versions ago, but i haven't had any issues so far with it myself... curious about what's happening then, especially if that's still persisting in the testing version. So Curious to hear back on that one!

I've had those myself too actually, all I can see however is that nraas sees that the game is 'destroying' the object and takes it over. So even without nraas, then the game will simply destroy it. I think it had something to do with that the game doesn't remove the object properly and thus nraas does it?

EDIT: Yep! I remembered correctly Here's the explanation from the nraas forums:

Quote:
"Out of World Object Found"
- The mod located an object that was no longer part of the world : It was not available in the world, in any inventory, or attached to any system of the game.
- Since the object was totally inaccessible, it was deleted and removed.
- These are normally found in logs followed by a "Destroyed" line.

"Destroyed Object Found"
- The mod located an object that was deleted from the game in the previous game-session, prior to you saving.
- The object was retained by an improper reference that forced the game to save the unnecessary object into your save-file.
- The mod is informing you that steps were taken to remove the references, and allow the object to vanish into non-existence.

"Destroyed"
- The mod deleted an object from your game.
- Normally there is good reason for the deletion (such as the object is inaccessible in game).
- Note that ErrorTrap is not perfect. If you believe the object was deleted in error, you should bring it to the attention of the developer.

(Source: https://www.nraas.net/community/Err...r%20save%2Dfile. )

Not sure why they have that check for mods though, it's a bit odd but I guess it's good to notify them?

Enjoy the cookie

I wonder if maybe it's because it still has some oooold data or something. I wonder if I can make it so that if you had it since version 1.0.2 for example, the data gets converted to what 1.0.8 can use? Not sure how but can look into that (or ask fellow script modders if they got any idea on that one)

Quote:

hehehe well, the first time it happened, it was ALL the clothing, and I was so confused lol... Went waaaay too deep into the rabbit hole of how the game generates thumbs (which is a whole other headache!) and yeah The best image I could find of it was this:

But yeah, when things get noodly, the script somehow is thinking it's an object and not clothing, which is why it gave that error then So maybe the parser made a derp there too and thought it was an object rather than a clothing item. It's software in the end, and as solid as one can make it, one can't relay that the game won't screw it up ;p

So for future references if any older saves do this: Don't click the noodles of doom!

Default Possible Issue: Some Pattern Icons Blank in Buy Pattern Menu.
I'm not sure if this is player error just a glitch of testing with only some of the clothing patterns installed.

I took most of the clothing patterns out as I thought they might apart of the issue we were having = 9 clicks issue. This was before we figured it was an issue that is being fixed. lol

I added back in the other clothing patterns I took out previously, loaded up my save to find their icons were blank.

https://i.ibb.co/6Dy2vPS/PIBBPM.jpg

Exiting the game, deleting the cache files and starting a new save didn't help. Some of the pattern icons are still blank in Buy Pattern Menu.

I was able to fix it.

I created a new Sims 3 folder and placed the current machine and all related files into the Mods\Packages folder. Loaded a new save. I think had my Sim try to purchase a clothing pattern, got to the pattern menu and was able to see all the patterns available to purchase.

Even though I fixed it, I wanted to mention it just in case it's not really suppose to take creating a new Sims 3 folder to fix it.
