That's right my fellow simmers, from "Dallas" right to Sim City, the luxurious Southfork Ranch will be the perfect home for your filthy rich -yet dysfunctional- families. :D


AUTHOR COMMENTS

I originally built this lot as a present for my mother. We both are "Dallas" fans ever since the DVD boxsets began shipping (needless to say, she was there when the original series aired on TV so she's a 'hardcore' fan... :P). We tried looking for a good replica of the Southfork Ranch first but my mom didn't like the one we found.

It took me a great deal of time to get this lot as close to the original as possible, keep in mind that the interiors shown in the series do not match the exterior of the ranch at all (since the interiors were really part of a studio set... :P) and my lack of skill and the limitations within the game didn't help either, so the interiors are a weird mix between the ones in the show and the "real" ones. :P

Even if this is published as a Residential lot, you can use the 'changelotzoning' cheat to turn it into whatever you want (dorms, greek house or community lot). HINT: The "real" Southfork Ranch is now a museum and convention center.



LOT DETAILS

Size: 6 X 5

Cost: 244,603 simoleons (quite affordable for a house this big)

Status: FULLY FURNISHED (Read the Notes section for more info)

Rooms: Lobby, hall, living room, library/study, "secret" room with safe, dining room, kitchen, cupboard, large empty room (was supposed to be a garage in the series), 5 bedrooms with own bathrooms and closets, and nursery room with own bathroom. The outdoors include a dining area, a swimming pool, 2 terraces, garden, and plenty of space to park cars.

NOTES

The Ewing family is shown in screenshots for illustrative purposes only. The family is NOT included with the lot.

This lot requires the Sims 2 base game plus ALL the expansion packs to date (University, Nightlife and Open for Business).

Due to the amount of custom content included (and a weird error I'm having with the Clean Installer while re-packaging lots with custom content), this download consists of 2 rar archives:

- Southfork_Lot.rar: Includes the Sims2Pack file (hack-free) containing the lot. It also includes the Build Mode elements (windows, doors, wallpapers, floors and landscaping objects) and respective recolors required by the lot in a separate folder.

- Southfork_Furniture.rar: Includes the furniture and decorations used in the lot. Some of these objects require recolors included with the Build Mode objects.

It is recommended to use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer (http://sims2pack.modthesims2.com/) to add the custom content to your game so you can avoid duplicates. A clock from the "Retroville" collection is listed as a hack by Clean Installer but it's completely harmless.
