About the only thing I know of the medieval times are from the romance novels I read. What came to mind when I read about the challenge was the one about a Scottish Highland Laird. But I am no history buff; I had to Google what a Keep looked like. I will have to leave the huge castles to someone else.

All lights are candles and torches, the tubs are wood, the first sinks were made out of stone and hung on the wall so I know the game sink looks nothing like the original sink but it is made of stone and hangs on the wall. The stove…yeah, well it’s made of stone since a fireplace is stone. The frig is wood to look like the old iceboxes. The toilet, they had chairs with the chamber pot under them. So I used the most chair/cabinet looking toilet and made it wood. Since the Simmies need kitchens and baths, I tried to make them look like some of the earliest ones made. (That I know of)

So we have the Keep, a small chapel, the captains house, the stable with sleeping quarters above, small cottage where the single clansmen/guards sleep, a garden out back with some plants from normal to perfect and a swimmable/fishable pond. The Keep is set up like my book. The lower level has a great room where the guests, household and the men eat and the Lairds chair where he sits to sort the problems of the clan, the kitchen with a small storage room and access for the cook to get to the garden for fresh fruits and vegetables and room for people to sleep. The second floor is the guest quarters but the priest has taken up permanent residence in the one guest room and the upper level is the Master bedchamber and the children’s room. The lowest level is of course the dungeon, it is empty so you can use it for whatever your Simmies want or need. The whole Keep is decorated in the Lairds colors and the Ladies of the Keep have made sure there are plenty of wild roses, lavender and lilac for petals in their bath water. I really wanted to pretty it up with lots of trees but realistically there probably weren’t even this many trees this close to the Keep, so I had to settle for rocks and bushes.
