A bit of a break for a very good reason...
Date Posted: 15th Jan 2009 at 7:32 PM
I'm probably not going to be creating much, if at all, for some time. Y'see, Delphy and I had a baby in December, and our lovely little niblet takes up a lot of my free time. I'm also just not really motivated to create much right now - I haven't been on my gaming PC for more than 5 minutes since he was born. I will still be around in chat and to answer questions and suchlike, but I probably won't be doing too much intensive stuff or making new things for a while, if I start up with it again at all.
Hopefully won't be too much of a trauma to ya'll to hear - but at least I have a darn good (and adorable) reason for it.

New Terms of Use
Date Posted: 2nd May 2007 at 12:50 PM
Recent events and some discussion in the featured creators forum on allowing people to edit your work have made me rethink my terms of use.
I've changed my them to allow creators to include my meshes with their recolours (plus my new readme). Partly this was, well, because I wanted to change my profile pic (Pariah looks so cute upside down, doesn't she?) and partially because... I just can't bring myself to care anymore.
I still want a link and credit as I think that's perfectly fair and takes only a few keystrokes - no real effort... And I've kept track of the amount of time I take on meshes vs. textures recently and I've realized I spend about 3/4 of the time on anything doing textures, and only about a quarter of it on the mesh. And I already allow people to redistribute my recolours. So it makes logical sense - why protect something more that takes less effort and time?
I've also added a thing in there about mesh edits - a lot of people have been asking for teen versions of my Fanseefem meshes but I just don't play teens and I have a lot of things I'd prefer to do first. So... if someone wants to edit my meshes and they're not a total noob, sure. Ask me first (as I may already be working on an edit myself, so you don't have to). Let me help you if you need it, let me test it, do it right, and it's all good.
Hopefully people will still visit me and click thanks and offer a comment now and then. I've gotten crap for saying it, but I think it's fair: A few thanks and the occasional nice comment is about the only thanks free creators get, and it's not too much to ask for. I spend a lot of time working on this stuff, and I could just keep it for myself and never share any of it... but it's the joyous reactions of people who enjoy my work that keep me creating to share, not just creating for me. It's the thanks I get for the tutorials and help I give that keep me doing that. And it's the feeling of satisfaction knowing that I have contributed to this "community" of ours in a positive way that keeps me around in general.
Go hug your favourite creators, guys. Not me specifically, but anyone whose work you truly appreciate. Go send 'em a heartfelt message thanking them for their stuff. You will make their day, get yourself some good karma, and you may just keep someone who was thinking of leaving to stick around a while longer.

Current Creation Project: Fanseefem

Right, so, after like... at least a year whining about how I wish someone would fanseeify some female clothing... I'm doing it myself.
I'm sick of my female sims having their bellies showing, always having to wear something with high heels, and never looking truly comfortable and casual. I've looked and looked and I have never seen a substantial amount of basic neutral clothing for women.
So I'm making it myself!
Be on the lookout for anti-belly shirts and untuckable pants for the laydeez soon!

Wikification

So, I really love wiki. I hope you love wiki too. I've been working my ass off on the Sims2Wiki trying to whip some areas into shape.
I'm doing a lot of stuff that's not really public, but one of the areas I'd really like some help on is the Gameplay Guides section. If anyone is good with wiki formatting, knows a lot about the game, and is willing to compile information there, do let me know. Send me a PM and we'll talk about how to get you set up doing some game guide stuffs.

Absence makes the heart grow more creative...

Somehow, deciding I hated everything and didn't want to make pixel dolly content anymore has made me like the game even more. I'm actually playing Seasons and loving it, and I'm loading up right now to take some pics of some couch recolours.
It's weird being a chick.

Do drama queens get to wear cute little red high heels?

Right, so, maybe I'm not going entirely. The comments on my last entry, the wonderful people who have reached out to me in PM and IM, and my amazing friends, who understand my desire to take a break, have made me reconsider things a bit.
So I put the skintones back up, minus defaults, still minus nipples, and I've decided to be angry, rather than upset, with anyone who has a problem with them.
I've also decided to spend most of my time modding Oblivion, and to not worry about pixel dollies for a while. I'll still be around, answering questions and causing trouble - but less, and maybe not daily. I'm enjoying the hell out of both playing and modding Oblivion, and that's new and refreshing.
I'll make more Sims 2 stuff eventually, including anatomical versions of my skintones and all, once I can stand to look at them again, and open Body Shop without flying into a violent rage. Until that time, I'm going to take out my frustration blasting innocent townspeople with fireballs.

Exhausted, and done...
Date Posted: 22nd Feb 2007 at 3:23 PM
I'm tired of trying and trying and still nothing working right.
I'm sick of whiny crybabies.
I'm sick of putting all my time into this.
I'm just done with all of it.
Thanks for the fun, guys, but I can't stand this stupid bullshit anymore.
Bye.

William Freakin' Morris!
Date Posted: 16th Jul 2006 at 11:41 AM
Okay, am I the only other simmer who just absolutely LOVES art nouveau and arts and crafts (with a little taste of early art deco thrown in, too)? I cannot tell you how wibbly I get (yes, wibbly) looking at William Morris designs. I'm planning on doing a lot of buy mode recolours with William Moris designs (and probably a little Voysey too, just to mix things up a bit) as there's a freaking AMAZING store in the local area here that has a whole William Morris section (be still my wallet!) with great stuff for inspiration and source pics.
The juxtaposition of natural, mostly foliate/floral designs in a flowing, stylized, even geometricized (is that a word?) style makes me happy in ways I cannot describe.
