Thanks To All...

Date Posted: 15th Nov 2009 at 5:17 AM

Hey all.
I am officially calling it quits for creating for the Sims 2.
My life's aspirations have changed from the career in animation I was pursuing before, and now my new path requires a substantial amount of time and effort with other 'hobbies', for I am now studying engineering.
Hopefully the creativity and problem solving skills I began to develop with modding for the Sims 2 will more or less be transferable to real world problems that I would like to one day help solve.
Just wanted to give a big thanks to everyone who supported me as I kept on improving my skills with every project through the years.
Thanks also to the moderators of MTS2 especially to Delphy for creating this site.
Once again thank you all very much.
It has been an honor creating for the MTS2 public.

Mulan Update #6

Date Posted: 22nd May 2007 at 4:21 AM

I think it's about time I share the surprise I spoke of back in Mulan Update #3. GodlyAce, Kenji336, MizzesSimmer, Fresh-Prince, tigdadx4, and I have teamed up under the user name Disney Imagineers and our first project together will be Mulan, as you may have surmised.

We will provide (in addition to my sims) buildings, objects, pets, etc. from the Disney movies we work on. So remember that name Disney Imagineers because my Mulan sims will be released with the group project.

Finally, here are the previews as promised.
What you see in the previews may or may not end up being the final product because I'll keep being on the look out for what I can improve.

Mulan Formal

Mulan Casual

Mulan Soldier

Li Shang

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~Mulan Formal(matchmaker dress): 100%
~Mulan Casual(yellow/green dress): 100%
~Mulan Soldier(armor): 100%
~Li Shang: 100%
~Shan Yu: 35%
~Extras(Matchmaker Earings(10%), Mulan Sword(30%), Li Shang Sword(30%), Shan Yu Sword(30%)): 10%
There are certain non-sim related issues that have brought my creating spree to a bit of a lag so I was unable to finish Shan Yu but atleast his body mesh and a few of his genetics are done. I also finished Shang.
Mulan Update #5
Date Posted: 5th May 2007 at 5:38 AM
Alright I have to admit that I've been a bit whiney as of late. Actually I'm starting to think that the top part of my policy was kind of mean too.... I just changed it.... doesn't do any good anyway. I'm sorry, it was never my intention to sound mean and I hope I have not scared anyone.
Thanks to everyone who left a nice comment my last entry. I was just very peeved at the time, but it's all cool now. :D
Anyway I've got good news. I've been on a roll the last couple weeks and if this spree continues I may be finished with the project near the end of this month. Close, I'm very close!! Just don't forget to breath everyone!! LOL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

~Mulan Formal(matchmaker dress): 100%
~Mulan Casual(yellow/green dress): 100%
~Mulan Soldier(armor): 100%
~Li Shang: 70%
~Shan Yu: 10%
~Extras(Matchmaker Earings(10%), Mulan Sword(30%), Li Shang Sword(30%), Shan Yu Sword(30%)): 10%

Ok, so I finished Mulan's armor and the hair to complete the look. I also finished Li Shang's armor.

All that's left now is Shang's hair, Shan Yu and the 3 swords. Shan Yu may take up 2 weeks of work. Shang's hair and the swords should be really easy. 2-3 days maybe.

Next update, since it might be the last, I'll provide some previews.

Mulan Update #4

Date Posted: 15th Apr 2007 at 4:06 AM

Hello everyone. Sorry it has been quite some time since my last update but some things have been really bothering me and I needed some time to cool down before running the risk of saying something I might regret. Just to name a few of those things:

1) People still stealing my stuff at the exchange. I try to ignore it but it still affects me terribly.

2) Requests. Even though it says in bold letters on my policy that I don't take requests people are still sending me them.These people clearly are either too ignorant to realize how annoying that is or they simply don't give a damn about my feelings. To be quite honest I have been tempted to send really nasty responses but no.... I just delete such messages.

3) Another thing I must mention is that I Don't Know When I Will Finish This Project So Please Stop Asking.

All these things (#3 to a very small degree) really lowers my morale. There are times when I don't feel like working on my Sims 2 projects anymore because I'm just that angry. Despite all this, thoughts of those people in the community who have been very kind to me truly do offer me comfort in those times.

~Mulan Formal(matchmaker dress): 100%
~Mulan Casual(yellow/green dress): 100%
~Mulan Soldier(armor): 45%
~Li Shang: 10%
~Shan Yu: 10%
~Extras(Matchmaker Earings(10%), Mulan Sword(30%), Li Shang Sword(30%), Shan Yu Sword(30%)): 10%

*facial structure=10%, clothes=40%, hair=30%, anything else(makeup, genetics, etc)=20%* (divided based on difficulty and time required)

Anyway, setting aside all the mushy stuff , since my last update I have nearly completed Mulan's armor outfit about 50% of the texture still remains.

Mulan's matchmaker earings, Li Shang's facial structure and Shan Yu's facial structure are also done.

Keep in mind that even though I say that I have finished something I still spend a lot of time going back to tweak things around so that's something else to take into consideration.

Mulan Project Update #3

Just to let you know myself and a bunch of totally awesome creators have great surprises in store for you all. I only hope that my fellow conspirators are not being too loose with their tongues (or fingers, respectively :D) because this will truly will be the surprise that blows away every single surprise that came before it (geeze I'm saying the word surprise a lot, must be my favorite word lol ) Anyway that's all I'm going to say about that.

This week I have finished Mulan's loose bun hair style and makeup for her casual look. Like the formal hair the casual one turned out super cute as well but, thankfully,this one was much easier to make. I'm actually guessing that Mulan's matchmaker look is the toughest part of the entire project. Good thing I decided to make it first in order to get it out of the way.

Most everything else that I worked on was a mess of touch ups of previous stuff especially the matchmaker makeup. Creating eye makeup is such a pain especially since it's the eyes that are exaggerated the most for cartoon sims, but sure enough with experience I'll keep getting better at this.

Well, I guess that's all for now. Until next time.

Mulan Project Update #2

Date Posted: 3rd Mar 2007 at 8:24 PM

I got good news everyone(especially for those of you without all the EPs) I have begun to use Numenor's Legacy Bodyshop so all my future content could be available to everyone.

At first I began the Mulan project with the Pets Bodyshop but I have remade the things I had already done with Legacy.

With this update I have completed Mulan's Matchmaker hair style. It comes with her very detailed hair comb (the green one with the blossom). To tell the truth I am really excited about this hair style because for a moment it made me feel overwhelmed, considering I had to make just about every part of it from scratch, but it turned out looking so cute!!! It's little successes like these that make me impatient to share. No pics though because quite frankly, "I do love surprises". lol

Also the casual dress is complete, the casual hair will follow. I have decided to make the casual hair in the loose bun style instead of having it completely down because I have never seen anyone else make a hairstyle like that before.

P.S. I was supposed to post this yesterday but there must have been something wrong with my internet connection. Just though I would let you know because I still plan to post updates every other Friday.

Mulan Project Underway

Date Posted: 17th Feb 2007 at 3:51 AM

Alright to start off let it be known that I will be posting my progress every other Friday so you all could have a basic idea of when I'll be finishing. This way no one will feel the need to fill my PM box with the same question over and over "....when will you be done huh?! when, when, when?!!!....". >_>

So from now on if anyone sends me a PM asking that, I'll bite your head off cuz you clearly wouldn't be using it anyway.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anyway like the title states, Mulan has officially begun.
~Mulan Formal(matchmaker dress): 70%
~Mulan Casual(yellow/green dress): 10%
~Mulan Soldier(armor): 10%
~Li Shang: 0%
~Shan Yu: 0%
~Extras(accessories,weapons, etc.): 0%
*facial structure=10%, clothes=40%, hair=30%, anything else(makeup, genetics, etc)=20%* (divided based on difficulty and time required)
I have already finished Mulan's facial structure and matchmaker dress and matchmaker makeup.
The matchmaker dress comes complete with shawl and bead necklace which I put on a transparent alpha.The collar too is on the transparent alpha. I'm not sure if it's obvious in the movie but the collar really is kind of transparent. I have seen Mulan dozens of times and I did not notice until I looked closely at the images on my computer.
All I need now is to make her hair to complete the look and that may be done by some time next week I believe. This time I will remember to remove unnecissary ages and I'll see if I could color bin it too.
Well, that's all for now and I won't be posting any pics because I want it to be a surprise.
^^
Date Posted: 9th Feb 2007 at 7:33 AM
Well before getting down to business with posting my to do list I thought I should introduce myself.
I am Denise, 18 years old and will be starting college this August. I have two cats one is the momma(Roxy) and one is the baby(Gray aka Poofy).
To me creating for the Sims 2 isn't just a hobby, it's training for my future career because I wish to get into the animation industry some day. As most of you may already know (due to the theme my creations reside in) I love cartoons especially Disney. I grew up with Disney and the endings to every movie never fail to bring tears to my eyes. lol
In addition to creating sims my skills also include drawing, that's basicly where my life in the arts began. Just recently I learned to paint in photoshop thus explaining the proper textures that are on my latest creation.
Anyway I think that's enough about me, on with the line up.
So the basic plan will be that I'll remake the chars of a movie I've already made sims for then I'll go on to a completely different movie, then I'll remake another and so on. The list I provide may change at any time depending on what I'm in the mood of creating and I actually would like to get into simming some anime or gaming chars too.
  • Disney's Mulan: Mulan, Li Shang, and Shan-Yu
  • Disney's Snow White remake: Snow White, the Prince, and the Wicked Queen
  • Disney's Hercules: Hercules, Meg, and Hades
  • Disney's Cinderella remake: Cinderella, Prince Charming, and Fairy Godmother
  • Disney's Tarzan: Tarzan, Jane, and Clayton
  • Disney's The Sleeping Beauty remake: Aurora, Phillip, and Maleficent
I guess this is enough of a heads up for now and hopefully with the skills I've gained from my last project I'll be able to work a bit faster. From now on I'll be making only 3 chars because, remember people, quality is better than quantity and I would prefer not to spend an entire 6+ months on a project again.( but I will make extra outfits if applicable, especially for the ladies )
