I'm Back - Hopefully More Active

Date Posted: 8th Jan 2013 at 10:20 PM

Well, it's been a rough year or so. Medication issues had me almost hospitalized for much of last year, and I was slowly, but steadily, going downhill until they finally took me off the meds in September. What a difference in my life!

In the past year, I didn't post or do much anywhere. Frankly, my heart was willing, but my head was all over what I was going through physically, and the worry was just killing me. But I'm hoping to be back to content creation, although now, I apparently need to learn a whole new system for Sims 3. Lots of research to do!

The first thing I intend to do is check compatibility of my old wallpaper collection to see if it will work with Sims 3, and if it doesn't, update it to a version which will. (Don't worry, I'll keep the Sims 2 version up as well). I suppose I'll have to make the decision about whether to continue making content for Sims 2. If it isn't too different, or difficult, it might just be worth it to release for both platforms. I know that there are times when I still play the Sims 2, because I love OFB, and it isn't available for Sims 3. I know they integrated some of that into the base game of Sims 3, but it's not quite as... versatile?... functional?.. I'm not sure. It doesn't "feel" as good to me.

I have a lot of things I'd like to do this year, so we'll see how far I go. More blog posts to my personal blog, research into non-profit organizations (and possibly opening one), work on my video game, and more work as a fine artist, are all high on my list. Continued self-improvement is a must, (I'm now going through, "How to Think Like Leonardo DaVinci", by Michael Gelb), and of course, I'd like to continue with my various hobbies - roleplaying, content creation, and so forth.

Wish me luck!

Downloads, Uploads and "Dirty Coding" Humor?

Date Posted: 16th Mar 2009 at 7:24 AM

Well, I've fixed my downloads section, so anybody having trouble will find the downloads repaired. My flooring pack is on-hold because my Photoshop CS4 Extended trial ended, but there is hope on the horizon as I found it on eBay for a killer sale, and am only waiting for it to arrive.

In other news, if anybody is a coder interested in a good laugh, the March 2009 edition of Game Developer has a hilarious article called, "Dirty Coding Tricks".

I'll just end with this: IF CoderWillGetStuckAtDeadline THEN DontDoThisSpecificThing

Nu Grumlash Aba Nu: Flooring and Current Projects

Date Posted: 11th Mar 2009 at 5:40 PM

I'm a bit busy with a client animation project that has to be completed by May 1st; and an ongoing contract to provide concept art for a second client. These are exciting times for me, and I'm a little scattered, lol!

I'm going to do my best to release new Sims 2 items, as often as I can. The next pack, currently in the works, is a match to my "Nu Grumlash Aba Nu: Wallpaper". Part of the Nu Grumlash Aba Nu Decor Collection, it will contain multiple floors in various styles, ranging from ceramic tile to granite.

After that's completed, my intention is to create the painting series that started it all - if Rie Hammond will let me. *wink*
