I just realized how incredibly ugly the colonial shower/tub is. I mainly mean the fact that the only color metal there is to choose from is a horrendous gold color. It's a shame, considering there are some nice re-colours of the curtain for that shower. I also found out that after you finish throwing a party if you had balloons they deflate.

Say no to bug babies.

I discovered that sloppy sims' bladder goes up when they shower... Which can only mean one thing. o.O

That coincidence is awesome, and makes for fun storylines.

Sarah Love was never quite the same after she caught her boyfriend Matthew Hart with Jessie Pilferson. After all, she thought she had their future all figured out: she had already picked out the names of their future children, had already planned out their wedding vows, and she had given herself carpal tunnel writing out "Sarah Hart" over and over again in her binder. She had even bought her wedding dress! She loved him, only to find out that he was... that he was... well, she didn't know a word strong enough to describe him, but she knew plenty to describe Jessie with and most of them began with the letter S.

Feeling disgraced, Sarah dropped out of school and started a new life in Strangetown. On her first day there, she met none other than the Grim Reaper (who shows up at practically every welcome wagon, since everyone meets him at least once in their life) and they struck up a fast friendship. He had a lot of sympathy for jilted brides-to-be and remarked that she needed to talk with his wife: Olive had been left at the altar before, too, and could give her some helpful advice on where to go from there. Sarah thanked him, and her new friend showed up the next day with Olive.

Sarah did indeed learn a lot from talking to Olive. She learned that it wasn't worth getting mad (she immediately rolled the want to learn Anger Management), but it was worth having a room in one's house that locked from the outside as well as a garden that needed frequent tending. Olive even offered to set her up with the mistakenly-resurrected Elwood Valley. Elwood was apparently something of a cheater (and a number of far more unpleasant things), but Olive remarked that she was sure that Sarah could set him right... somehow. In the mean time, she shouldn't worry her heart with Matthew: he'll get what's coming to him.

The next time I played the Fraternity lot at La Fiesta Tech, Matthew got a spontaneous phonecall from none other than Sarah's friend. He had a hard time understanding him -- while the Grim Reaper can sound normal in person, there's no fooling electronics -- but he thought he heard something to the effect of "See you soon." So, he walked outside and decided to pass the time until the mysterious caller arrived by looking up at the clouds. There were a lot of them that day, and they were the fluffy sort that usually looked like bathtubs and bunnies. In fact, one even looked like a bit of space debris! And it was coming closer! Oh...my.

His mysterious caller arrived a few seconds later, clipboard in hand.

That was the first time in nearly two years of play that my game has seen a death-by-satellite, and the timing was far too perfect

Sparrow interrupted skilling to take a phone call from one of her lover's friends, and went on a scored outing (though she really needs the mechanical point to fix the computer with). In the middle of the outing, racking up the best score I've ever done with an outing, I got a pop-up notice: "Hanging out with all those tinkerers pays off! Sparrow has gained a mechanical skill Point!"

What the ...? I've never gained a skillpoint on an outing before, and none of the people on the outing, as far as I know, is much of a tinkerer. The group consisted of her lover, a bunch of his friends that aren't at University yet, and the parent of two of the teens. The only one of those playables who's ever tinkered at all is the parent, and he doesn't have a single mechanical point. The rule for playing this particular sim is that he can't skill with the bookcase and can only learn by doing; and he needs to get his first mechanical point in order to get his next promotion, so I had him tinker with the shower in hope of breaking it. (Normally I'd just stop telling them to clean the toilet, so it'd plug up - nothing like a clogged toilet to teach a sim the necessary skills for fixing computers! - but one of this guy's daughters is a depressed Virgo and cleans obsessively.)

Sparrow did greet her big sister Sadie, who is high on the career ladder and has a good mechanical score, but they aren't even friends and all they did was chat and have an earthy hug. And she certainly wasn't part of the outing.

Ugly is in the heart of the beholder.

The only problem with that is that some Sim will come in and turn on the tv when your Sim is trying to sleep

That is why I keep noise making things like the computer and TV out of Sim's bedrooms. Sims are dumb about when it is ok to use a TV or play a computer game that makes a lot of noise and constantly wake up the Sim trying to sleep.

They'll deflate before then if you put them out too soon. Nothing like ruining a party by everyone complaining about the environment being crappy.

If you have twin babies (or a baby and a toddler) and you lay one baby down on the floor where the other baby (or toddler) is sleeping...it'll wake up the other baby (or toddler).

Mrs. Landgraab here has two daughters, three Sim days apart. She lay the newborn down on the floor where her older daughter was sleeping on the blanket, and the toddler woke up. Almost seems like she's thinking, "Who said I wanted a baby sister?" LOL

The toddler blanket you can download from this site, plus I have McAlli's nursery stuff, also available here. Apparently the blanket picked up the pattern (I think that's what you call "repository").

I love that blanket. Saves your Sims from having to put them in their crib for their naps.

Those blankets are great. Just be sure to distract everyone aged teen or older while the toddler falls asleep. If the older Sims aren't busy just as the toddler lies down, they'll go over and wake him or her up so they can put them in the crib.

I discovered that toddlers can die today. o_O

I never knew that toddlers could do that-I mean, I always thought they were fire-proof...or just death-proof in general. I was only leaving the toddler there in the fire so it's needs could get so low that the social worker would show up (just as I planned)-but instead of that, it just disappeared through the flames and all of a sudden the ol' grim reaper showed up. I was shocked. I already knew that kids could die by drowning in a pool, but now I'm wondering about the babies...

...sadistic, aren't I?

Babies and toddlers aren't supposed to die. (Unless you have that horrible BBQ hack.) Something's not right there....

Nah, I don't have the baby-grill mod in my game. And when I got my warlock (atrociously evil) sim to revive the toddler with his magic, the toddler came back normal. Kids and under can't come back as zombies, I guess, but it might be that they aren't supposed to come back as zombies. It seems that teens and older get zombie-ified, but no Sim young than that. I hope this just a harmless glitch, though. Hopefully this doesn't mean my neighborhood is imploding..

The zombie skin doesn't have an infant, toddler, or child state. That's why the offspring of CAS-created zombies (ie. fake zombies, with the skin but not the shuffle) can crash the game.

I found out that the courthouse downtown (where I live) has the Second Empire architecture. Seriously, before Sims, I never took notice of that kind of thing, while my mother can tell me just by looking what era a house is from and what architecture.

I didn't have University until recently and I could still merge families. You just move one family out of the house, then when picking a new house for them to live, pick the family you want to merge them with and it will do it.

I swear some toddlers prefer pet food to anything else. Aldous Gieke had a terrible pet food addiction, and so did the Kat twins (heck, the Kat twins' first words were probably "meow" and if they could have used the litter box as toddlers, they would have).

I noticed that an adult male werewolf takes a much higher hunger motive hit after transformation than an adult female werewolf.

There are two grown werewolves in my game: Anne-Marie Howell and her young adult son Sonny Ray. Anne-Marie's transformation hunger hit never seemed too dramatic -- unless she was pregnant -- and neither did Sonny Ray's while he was still a teen. That all changed for Sonny Ray once he started at La Fiesta Tech.

I maxmotived both of them right before their transformations to show the difference:

Sonny Ray before:

Sonny Ray after:

Anne-Marie before:

Anne-Marie after:

(there's a bigger lag in transformation time for her because I had to wait for the pillowfight animation to completely end.)

Big difference!
